UUtente ospiteRum Doodle, well it was our first time at The Lakes and it certainly won't be our last! The location was just right with being part way between Windermere town and Bowness and was walkable to both. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance as well as lake Windermere itself.
We found Rum Doodle with ease and was greeted at the door with a smile and friendly man (the owner but didn't catch his name). We were bought a fresh glass of apple and orange juice to our room which was refreshing after a long drive to Windermere. Our room was comfy, not too big or too small, a wardrobe, seating in the bay window, hairdryer, hot drink making facilities, wine glasses with cork screw and bottle opener. Very modern, clean and well presented bathroom with soft and fluffy towels, and a really nice shower. The bed was very comfortable and welcomed after a busy day exploring the surrounding area.
Breakfast was really good with cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt, toast, and then a choice of breakfast which were great too.
We had a pleasant and informative chat at breakfast with the lady that works there who gave us the heads up on some driving routes to try and avoid which was really useful.
After a day out exploring we went back to Rum Doodle to a cleaned room and freshly made bed with the tea and coffee replenished, so we were able to just drop and the bed with a nice cuppa and biscuit. Then out for a walk, some lovely food and a couple of drinks.
We couldn't recommend The Lakes and Rum Doodle enough! Well worth every penny

UUtente ospiteIl personale dell'hotel ha avuto una bella vacanza di 2 notti dal 26 dicembre e ha dato conoscenza e consigli locali su dove andare a piedi... il colazione è stato un buon valore per i soldi e i servizi di catering per vegetariani e vegani. Non ci può essere parcheggio in loco, ma il parcheggio raccomandato disponibile al locale club di cricket per solo 2 sterline al giorno è a soli 4 minuti a piedi e conveniente. Grazie anche per tutte le comunicazioni prima del nostro soggiorno, molto apprezzato 😊

UUtente ospiteI have grave misgivings about hotels in the busiest parts of the Lake District, especially at holiday times. Obviously they will be relentlessly overcrowded, with harassed and unfriendly staff. I’ve wanted to go back to the Proper Lake District for a while though so took a risk on the King’s Head. It’s easy to find on the ear popping main road up from Grasmere, just beyond the impressive hulk of Steel Fell, close to Thirlemere. Parking anywhere in the Lakes is hideous and expensive. Not here. Relaxed and plenty of room. It’s a long building with a pleasant bar restaurant area and beer garden. I found a rather pleasant residents lounge where a lady called Jo checked me in and made me feel welcome. It does get busy with passing trade but the staff look after their residents. They flogged me decent real ale and Jura whisky (the proper stuff). Breakfast is briskly table served from a menu and is well presented. I didn’t eat otherwise there but the food is popular and well priced. The road outside is busy and a bit of a racetrack, and the occasional fighter jet roars between the mountains on low altitude practice, but the relentless bleating of the sheep opposite soon returns things to normal. I was a little sorry to depart, but the manager said he hoped I would come again. I believe I will, and will even bring my wife.

UUtente anonimoWe booked the Superior Double Room and I felt it was well worth the extra for the gorgeous view we had from 2 large windows - whether the skies were sunny or cloudy.
The location was excellent - within 5 to 10mins walk to the town and to Derwent Water and parking was well explained and ample. On entering Fellpack House, it was pleasant, well cared for and inviting. Our room on the top floor (stairs all the way up) was straight out of a home & decor magazine. The amenities, furnishing, towels and beverages were quality stuff and we saw that they also used locally sourced soaps and beverages. Housekeeping was daily and I loved that the gave us delicious chewy chocolate chip cookies each day!
The breakfast was fresh & flavourful. That they started off as a restaurant (that operates across the road and is highly rated) carries through in their breakfast - I ate so much and it was worth every calorie!
Best of all were the staff. We met many over the course of our stay and every one of them were warm, chatty, highly customer-oriented and witty!

Rrockylee1. La posizione dell'hotel è buona. La strada per il porto della barca è anche in dieci minuti. Il ristorante vicino è molto numeroso e la cena è molto conveniente. La stanza è grande, c'è anche una sala da soggiorno, inaspettatamente, ma la sala è vicino al letto, vicino alla strada, alcune stronzate di mattina e sera, soprattutto la velocità della macchina inglese è generalmente più veloce, da prestare un'attenzione leggera. Il colazione è il latte di grano di yogurt preparato in anticipo, alcuni nel frigorifero, alcuni nel serbatoio, non aspettare troppo.
2.Se viene da solo, vuoi una carta di parcheggio con la reception, tre sterline al giorno, un parcheggio illimitato, ci sono diversi posti che possono essere parcheggiati, in realtà è molto conveniente.Quando si parte, è possibile guidare prima al parcheggio, e quando si torna, si può mettere la scatola e la carta di parcheggio sulla reception.

UUtente anonimoI stayed for two nights. The service was great and the food was delicious, which made the stay enjoyable. The room was neat and tidy; however, there was quite a bit of noticeable wear and tear. In the restaurant there was also a leak coming from the ceiling at one corner, so the place could benefit from some investment and maintenance. Overall, the staff and dining experience were highlights of the stay.

UUtente ospiteLa bella camera d'albergo era più piccola di quanto si poteva aspettare e anche la bagno, ma aveva tutto quello che avevamo bisogno e era bella e pulita la colazione era bella curata per la mia intolleranza al glutine e il personale era molto bella soprattutto Olivia che ci serviva delle bevande. per entrambe le notti non c'era nulla di troppo per lei avrebbe consigliato molto e saremo tornati

UUtente ospiteLa posizione dovrebbe essere quella di uno dei migliori hotel del Lake District. Dopotutto, c'è un molo sotto il giardino dell'hotel, a soli due minuti a piedi. Il terreno è relativamente alto e il panorama è molto bello. La colazione è a buffet, un po' peggiore rispetto a quella di Hillthwaite. L'hotel è ancora in fase di ristrutturazione e ci sono impalcature per lavori edili fuori dalle finestre, che influiscono un po' sulla vista. Tuttavia, la camera è spaziosa e i colori dell'arredamento sono molto accoglienti. Nel complesso mi piace.

MmarissahuoLa stazione ferroviaria e il centro della città possono camminare. La stanza è molto pulita. La colazione sarà inviata alla stanza secondo il tempo stabilito. Le uova hanno diversi metodi di scelta. Ho scelto uova di guancia e latte di grano caldo, che è molto adatto alla china.A Windermere e Keswich hanno autobus diretti.
