I recently stayed at the Canmore Inn & Suites on Bow Valley Trail. While the property itself has potential and offers a convenient base for exploring the Rockies, my experience was significantly dampened by a factor I wasn't prepared for: a major local hockey tournament. The ”Tournament” Factor I was unaware upon booking that my stay coincided with a Canmore hockey tournament for U11 and U13 divisions. To say these teams ”took over the hotel” would be an understatement. The volume of children was overwhelming. This translated to: The Pool Area: Practically unusable for other guests; it was packed to capacity with kids from morning until night. Common Areas: Hallways and the lobby were very loud and, at times, felt uncontrollable. Lack of Supervision: There was a noticeable lack of adult/parental supervision in the public spaces, leading to a chaotic atmosphere that isn't ideal if you're looking for a relaxing mountain getaway. Staff and Noise Management To the hotel’s credit, the noise did mostly settle down by 10:30 PM. I spoke with the front desk, and they mentioned we could issue formal noise complaints if needed. However, it felt like a losing battle given the sheer volume of groups. The staff are clearly used to this, as these local tournaments bring in consistent bookings for the hotel. While the team was polite, they seemed stretched thin by the high occupancy and the energy of the young athletes. The Room and Amenities Pros: The location is excellent—close to downtown and Highway 1. The rooms are generally spacious, and the mountain views from the upper floors are a highlight. Cons: The property is showing its age. Some fixtures felt dated, and the cleanliness in the high-traffic common areas suffered due to the heavy foot traffic during the tournament. Final Verdict The simpler solution here is a matter of timing. If you aren't in town to participate in or spectate a tournament, check the local sports calendar before booking. If a U11/U13 tournament is on, I would recommend staying elsewhere. If you are here for the hockey, this is clearly the ”hub,” but for the average traveler, the lack of peace and quiet makes it hard to justify the price point during these peak weekends.

In generale, è stato un soggiorno decente. - Camera pulita con letti comodi - La doccia aveva molta acqua calda e buona pressione idrica. - un bellissimo parco acquatico pulito con un amichevole e utile che non ci ha fretta alla fine della notte quando il nostro bambino si stava tirando i piedi per evitare di lasciare - piscine riscaldate e 2 scivoli d'acqua facevano l'hotel più attraente per noi con il nostro bambini lungo Cons: - i dischi del parco acquatico non avevano abbastanza angolo per non poter scendere i dischi con la necessità di farci propulsare in momenti che erano strani ma anche quasi comici - le piccole camere, soprattutto per il prezzo, si sentiva un po' impazzita con i mobili limitati e i bambini sul divano. - la porta del bagno ha fornito nulla di privacy dal resto della stanza senza barriera sonora, più aveva un pannello di vetro “congelato” come parte principale della porta, quindi è stato completamente visto attraverso e era una piccola camera da bagno. - No in camera microonde, così abbiamo perso di essere in grado di riscaldare il resto del viaggio per aiutarci a mantenere i costi ridotti e ridurre i rifiuti, a meno che mio marito non andasse a caccia per un uso sul pavimento principale, Ma è stato un passo in avanti quando siamo al quarto piano, così il cibo è stato raffreddato proprio al momento che l'ha fatto tornare in camera nostra. - Ordinare dal menu al ristorante del colazione in loco era costoso e il cibo era deludente. Il prezzo è molto amichevole, il personale di servizio è molto educato e il personale di custodia si pulisce ogni giorno.La guancia è molto lontana dal bus, ci vuole circa dieci minuti, ma è anche buona ad adattarsi.

Il letto era troppo duro. L'unità di condizionamento dell'aria si spostava dal caldo al congelatore, anche se l'avevo in un solo ambiente di riscaldamento. L'equipaggio di custodia ha cercato di entrare e pulire la mia stanza 45 minuti prima che mi dovessi andare a controllare. Poi la mia scheda di tastiera è stata disattivata 10 minuti prima del tempo di check-out, quindi sono stata chiusa quando sono tornato dal colazione e dovevo andare al desktop per ripararla. La prima donna al ricevimento ha detto che aveva riattivato la mia scheda, così sono tornato di sopra e era ancora chiusa fuori, e l'ascensore era troppo lento e non volevo essere punito per il check-out tardi, Quindi dovevo andare giù le scale (che erano molto difficili da trovare!) e poi una seconda signora mi diede una nuova chiave per tornare nella mia stanza, poi dovevo andare di nuovo alle scale e finalmente potevo prendere il mio bagaglio e controllare. In generale, è stata una cattiva esperienza.

We chose this hotel at random while driving down the highway. We were VERY glad that we did. The following day, we kept congratulating ourselves on the great choice. It was very easy easy to get to off the highway. But yet it was protected from the busy highway noise. The staff were absolutely 5-Star. Every single individual that we encountered, both hotel and restaurant, seemed to be genuinely friendly and professional. Specail shout-out to: Jei, Jasmeen, and Maltin. ( hopefully i got the correct names) We used the pool in the evening, and it was a surprisingly nice facility for the price of the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed it until an excessively noisy family showed up with undisciplined kids. But that's not on the hotel. I don't know why the restaurant was empty because it was exceptionally good food and good service. Even the breakfast buffet was far above most free breakfasts that are on offer. The guestrooms were very quiet (even the a/c fan was quiet). Beds were comfortable. Good quality linens, pillows and towels. Beds were especially comfortable and seemed new. Carpet looked new. The only thing I might suggest for the rooms is that they might add a floor lamp to improve the lighting. Also, they might think about bringing up the quality of bathroom amenities to current trend in higher quality in larger affixed bottles instead of small disposables It's obvious that they're gradually upgrading an older property and haven't gotten to the hallway paint yet. But that doesn't affect the guestrooms experience. I highly recommend this property.
