It’s a pretty new hotel which is just a few minutes walk from JR station. The hotel onsen has indoor and outdoor pool. It’s about 15mins from hotel to Takayama old town. The only down side is that there is no parking for this hotel so for those that drive u have to park a distance away. The closest carpark is about 100m away but that carpark is expensive, if I’m not wrong u have to buy the ticket from the hotel reception and it’s yen2000 for 24hrs and it’s a one time entry. If u get the ticket direct from the carpark it’s yen3000. We park at another carpark that is slightly further away but it’s much cheaper at around yen500 from 1800-1000hrs, walking distance is around 4min from hotel

Spacious bathroom, perfect for relaxation 6. Room: Spacious, perfect for relaxing and unpacking; ample space to open big luggage, no clutter 7. Surrounded by food stalls, convenience stores, and bus stops for effortless exploration 8. Adjacent to bus station and shopping options 9. Walking distance to halal hida beef, morning market 10. Convenient bus access downstairs to: Gattan go bicycle, Shirawago 11. Fully-equipped big kitchen for self-catering 12. Washing machine cum dryer for laundry convenience 13. Daily top-up of washing soap pods 14. Separate toilet for added privacy 15. Balcony with sliding door: soundproof and perfect for relaxation 16. This hotel exceeded our expectation! It is very near the Nohi Bus station and the JR Takayama station (3-5 min walk). Although we just stayed overnight, we had a memorable experience in Takayama Ouan. The hotel has a lot of freebies for their guests. They have a booth in the lobby where guests can get free brewed coffee, hot tea, and green lemon iced tea. They also provide free socks since the hotel have tatami flooring. What we also loved about this hotel is the onsen (separate public onsen for male and female, and 3 private onsen). They also have a freezer where guests can get free iced cream after bathing. During past 9 pm, they also have free ramen for their guests. The room is spacious, and the view from our window is also nice (the roads and establishments covered with snow). Aside from the free stuff and great amenities, we also appreciate the kind and friendly staff members. We accidentally lost the luggage claim tag (and we are willing to pay for it) but they didn't charge us anything. When we go back to Takayama, we will definitely stay here again.

**Hotel Review** Unfortunately, my experience at this hot spring hotel did not meet expectations. The dinner service was particularly lacking. The food had already been set up in the room before we arrived, and the waiter offered minimal assistance, only asking if we had lit the fire. There was no explanation of the dishes, nor was a menu provided. To make matters worse, the necessary cutlery for different courses was repeatedly overlooked, which detracted from the overall dining experience. The food itself was unremarkable and didn’t compare to what other hot spring hotels typically offer. The private onsen also posed a challenge. The water switch was broken, leaving no way to adjust the temperature or water flow, resulting in water that was uncomfortably hot throughout our stay. Breakfast the next morning was very basic and lacked the variety or creativity I’ve come to expect from similar establishments. Overall, the hotel did not live up to the standards I’ve experienced elsewhere and left much room for improvement.

Questo è il miglior hotel onsen che abbiamo soggiornato, tra quelli che abbiamo soggiornato negli ultimi 12 anni! Ci siamo stati qui per 2 notti. Siamo estremamente grati agli ospiti per il loro servizio eccellente e l'ospitalità dal cuore. L'edificio è pulito e mantenuto in modo eccellente. Ogni mattina, le nostre tovaglie e i yukata (veste dell'hotel) sono stati sostituiti. Così sono stati i servizi (confezioni di tè verde fragrante, snacks). Il personale di custodia ha anche offerto di muovere le nostre camere dopo un soggiorno di una notte. Il Wi-Fi è stato anche veloce e ben mantenuto nelle camere degli ospiti e nelle aree di soggiorno pubblico. Ci sono stati ampie sedie a riposo nel soggiorno e sulla strada verso le camere dell’historiano e degli ospiti. Il migliore è stato i caldi primavera! Esattamente come illustrato nel sito dell'hotel. Numerose piscine interne di diverse temperature hanno tutti l'acqua alcalina “bellissante” noto. La mia pelle si sentiva così liscia e umida dopo solo un soffitto. What’s more the hot springs stay open for in-house guests from 10.30 am to 11 pm and day-trip visitors from 10.30 am to 8 pm. In-house guests can also use the hot springs early from 6 to 9 pm. Vi è una sauna europea secca e camere a vapore umide, sia nelle aree di produzione che nelle aree di produzione. Noi vogliamo rimanere qui di nuovo!

Stayed there with as a family of 3. While I really wanted to like the ryokan due to the warm service and great feedback from friends, my own experience was a bit disappointing. We have stayed in many traditional ryokans prior to this and were familiar with the setup. We are appreciative with the warm service and sincere touches; like candies at check in, but the ryokan itself is really quite old and in need of a refresh. Our room is tucked away in a corner and required us to go down a small flight of stairs to reach. I am not sure if the location meant that is a bit colder than the rest of the rooms but we really did feel cold and the heating was inadequate. The in built heater would also stop and beep in the middle of the night, which led 2 of us falling sick at the start of the trip. We requested for a additional small heater which helped a bit. Second night, our 9yo son also got many mysterious bites all over his leg. He claimed to have seen a bug crawl under the tatami mat but we were not certain and therefore did not feedback to the ryokan as we only had one more remaining night to go. We had only stayed 1 night in nagoya's marriott associa hotel prior to our ryokan visit, and his skin improved after we left Takayama, leading us to think that it might have been the stay there.

Super convenient, the hotel is located two minute walk from Takayama station on the way it is fully covered so there’s no worry during a snowstorm like when I was there. Service was also amazing staff met the guest with a smile and when I didn’t have an umbrella, I was offered umbrellas for loan straightaway for free. The hotel also has its own Onsen and it was very convenient to see it crowdedness through the TV in your own room. There’s also a rest area where you can enjoy the view of Takayama from the top of the building and a foot spa for those who can’t do the full body hot spring which is very good for people.

We absolutely loved our stay at Nipponia Mino. We stayed in a two story apartment in the converted warehouse across from the main hotel and it was so beautiful. Each room had thoughtful stunning details - beautiful art on washi paper, a gorgeous soaking cedar tub, and antique furnishings. The host was incredibly helpful with suggestions of things to see and places to eat. We went to the soba restaurant across the street and he walked us there so we knew where it was (which was very lucky because otherwise we would've missed it.) He also rode his bike to our accomodations to make sure we found it and show us around. I loved the Nipponia. If we return to Japan, we'll definitely visit their other properties. Mino is also such a special place. The people are incredibly friendly and welcoming and there's a lot to see and experience for such a small town -- from the paper latern museum to the centuries-old sake distillery. Don't miss the paper merchant's house, which has been turned into a museum, with tours given in English.

很有趣味的一次日式旅館體驗。由於大雨影響JR運營，我們晚了一些到達下呂，並且一度認為可能過不去了。攜程和酒店都特別負責，當天很早就聯繫我們，和酒店可以用英文郵件溝通，回覆及時。在下午1:00-6:00到達的客人乘坐出租車到酒店是免費的，也不用預約，直接在車站打到就行，checkout的時候也是酒店付費送站。酒店的晚餐和早餐都很用心，精緻豐盛，食材新鮮，尤其是有Hida地區的一些特色美食，服務也非常專業貼心。我們的房間沒有私湯，但公共泡湯等同私湯了，室內室外都沒碰到人。日式房的床墊雖然軟軟的，但躺上去不覺得累人。唯一的問題是房間不能開窗，清新空氣進不來。
