"We chose Rixos Turkestan for our trip because we had previously stayed at other hotels within the Rixos brand and had good experiences. On top of that, this hotel is rated as the #1 hotel in Turkestan. Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. The hotel clearly seems understaffed. The breakfast and dinner area is planned very irrationally, with huge communal tables designed for large groups. We were unable to have breakfast because there was simply no table available for us, and sharing a table with strangers is uncomfortable for many European guests. It’s surprising that an international management team approved such a concept without considering guest comfort and cultural differences. The service also lacked professionalism. Waiters did not know the menu, and the wine list was honestly one of the worst we have seen in a hotel of this category. We ordered 1 liter of lemonade, which was then served in a small plastic cup … a strange detail for a hotel positioning itself as luxury (( Another issue was the atmosphere in the common areas: guests walking through the hotel and entering elevators in wet swimsuits significantly lowered the overall feeling of comfort and standards. Overall, we left quite disappointed. The hotel has potential, but today it does not feel like a true luxury property or a #1 hotel experience."
