Overall, I had a pleasant stay and a good experience. The staff were all very polite, friendly, and helpful, which made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The hotel itself is a little dated, and some areas could benefit from better maintenance. The tiles underneath the sink were cracked and looked as though they might come loose, which was a bit concerning. There were also some marks and stains around the sink area. They may simply be due to age or water stains, but they gave the bathroom a less clean appearance. One thing that concerned me was the presence of Charlie ants (rove beetles). We noticed them outside the room, and there were also quite a few in the steam room. Although the hotel has placed notices to warn guests about them, they are extremely small and difficult to spot unless you look very carefully. Since contact with them can cause skin irritation, it was a little worrying. Overall, the staff provided excellent service, and we enjoyed our stay. I hope the hotel can improve the maintenance of the facilities and continue taking measures to reduce the presence of Charlie ants, as these improvements would make the experience even better.

Un hotel bellissimo e tranquillo, perfetto per una pausa e per una tranquilla routine di lavoro. La stanza era spaziosa, confortevole e bellamente progettata, rendendo il soggiorno ancora più rilassante. La vista sulla spiaggia era certamente uno degli evidenti svegliarsi verso una vista così bella era veramente rinfrescante. In generale, era un luogo meraviglioso per rilassarsi, ricarichere e fuggire dallo stress del lavoro.

My second time in this hotel and never disappoints. Room is extra large, quiet and comfortable. Hotel is somewhat a 90's time tunnel but still evergreen , well maintained. Onsite car park is not free and quite costly, had to park somewhere nearby and walk towards it. Few eateries located opposite the hotel, more can be found further away but not within short walking distance.

Nel complesso è stato un buon soggiorno, la camera era abbastanza grande e il personale di servizio era sorridente! L'unica lamentela è che l'altro giorno ho trovato degli scarafaggi in camera e al ristorante... Spero che l'hotel riesca a gestire bene il problema delle zanzare!

L'hotel si trova vicino alla strada, quindi di notte fino a tarda notte è piuttosto rumoroso a causa del traffico. Il mio bambino non riusciva a dormire bene. L'ascensore dell'hotel è lentissimo. La hall è al nono piano, mentre il parcheggio è al piano interrato, quindi abbiamo dovuto portare le nostre valigie con l'ascensore, che è lentissimo. La camera è grande, ma non c'è ferro e asse da stiro. Bisogna andare in lavanderia. Il distributore d'acqua si trova vicino all'ascensore, comodo per riempirlo. Non c'è tè o caffè in camera. Bisogna portarseli da casa se si vuole preparare qualcosa. Però c'è un bar nella hall. Nel complesso, un hotel discreto, ma forse non ci tornerò, ma grazie per le decorazioni per il compleanno. 😀

La stanza era senza spot, il personale era incredibilmente amichevole e accogliente, e il colazione era delizioso ogni mattina. L'unico piccolo svantaggio è che la prova sonora è un po' debole, perciò potrete sentire un po' di rumore dalla strada o dalle camere vicine.

Every employee I encountered went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcome and cared for. The room itself was immaculate. Spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed, and incredibly comfortable. The housekeeping team does an incredible job maintaining high standards—fresh linens, pristine surfaces, and thoughtful amenities made coming back to the room each evening a total luxury. The location couldn't be better. It is centrally located with convenient access to key attractions, dining options, and public transit, making getting around effortless while still offering a peaceful night's sleep. If you are looking for top-tier hospitality, immaculate accommodations, and an unbeatable location, look no further. I will definitely be returning on my next visit!

Unfortunately, my stay at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang was disappointing, especially considering that I paid around RM3,000 for two nights in the Rasa Wing. The hotel is clean and the staff are generally friendly, but the entire property feels extremely outdated — from the exterior and lobby to the rooms. The room had a very hard bed, an old non-Smart TV with no YouTube or modern features, and the toilet blind was not working properly, leaving a gap where people outside could still see in. Overall, the room felt like an old hotel room with very little modernisation. The Rasa Wing benefits were also disappointing. The afternoon tea and evening cocktails were average, with limited variety and quality that did not feel up to a five-star standard. The evening cocktail selection in particular was very limited and boring. Service was friendly but extremely slow and disorganised. I had requested and reconfirmed a complimentary birthday cake/decorations for my father’s birthday before arrival, but nothing was ready when we entered the room. The cake and decorations only arrived later in the evening while we were already in the room. Even the minibar was empty and only stocked later. The check-in and escort to the room were also confusing and slow. For comparison, I paid a similar amount for my stay at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, which is also an older hotel. However, the experience there was completely different — the hotel is beautifully maintained, comfortable, updated and truly feels like a five-star property. The service, room, food and overall experience were exceptional. Being an older hotel is not an excuse for feeling outdated. If Shangri-La Rasa Sayang is not planning to renovate and modernise the property, the price should be reduced. At around RM3,000 for two nights, I honestly did not feel that this stay was worth the money.

Il centro di Crowne Plaza Penang Straits City è un hotel moderno, pulito e confortevole, con strutture ben mantenute e un'atmosfera rilassante. La stanza era spaziosa, bellamente progettata e molto comoda, rendendo il nostro soggiorno davvero piacevole. Il personale era amichevole, cortese e utile per tutta la nostra permanenza. Il servizio era efficiente e professionale, e ci sentiamo davvero benvenuti. Ci sono anche godite delle strutture dell'hotel e dell'atmosfera generale. In generale, è stata una splendida esperienza e un grande luogo di soggiorno a Penang. Noi sicuramente pensavamo di restare qui di nuovo e consigliere con piacere questo hotel a famiglia e amici.
