Me and my girlfriend got picked up at Congjiang train station which was very convenient. Right from the start the owners of the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The accomodation is located at the back of the village next to a field where they grow rapeseed flowers and rice during the year. For us the location was perfect as it is very peaceful and quiet but simultaneously litterally a few steps away from the beautiful vibrant little village. The room was very spacious and clean with a gorgeous view on the field. The interior is very well matched and has great facilities. There was even a small laundry machine so we could do some laundry ourselves. So far during our travels in China, this stay was the best we had! There is a very stylish and cute coffee/restaurant located on the first floor of the building. This is also where you will have a delicious breakfast and where Ni Li and her sister will greet you with a smile every time you walk by. Ni Li, her husband Tao Mingqing, her sister and brother played a crucial part during our stay as after the first night my wife got very sick due to an infection and barely left the room during our stay. The second night I got foodpoisoning which made the situation even worse. (Not from the hotel!). We ended up extending our stay due to her condition. Luckily Li's English is very good so that helped us a lot in navigating the medical difficulties. We were extremely lucky to be staying with Li and her family as they took care of us like we were their own family. Preparing custom meals and dinner tailored to our needs every single day, preparing us tea, calling the local doctors and translating and taking us to the local hospital back and forth multiple times. We were there during the Qingming festival so no cars were allowed in the village which made it more difficult to reach the hospital. This didn't stop Tao Mingqing as he took us to the local hospital several times on the motorbike, one by one! The last time I even forgot a bag and he even went back to get it for me! He truly is a legend. Fortunately, my recovery was fairly quickly so I had the chance to explore the village a little by myself and spend time with Li and Ming while staying close to the room for my girlfriend. On day 4 my girlfriend's fever was coming down and she improved a little. Li and Ming invited us to have tea with them. Ming showed me his vast collection of tea and made sure to prepare the best tea suitable for our condition. The tea was truly amazing and he ended up filling a big bag with different kinds of teas as a gift for us! And that was not it, to make sure we would never forget them and drink tea mindfully the Chinese way when we're back home, they gave us the tea cups we used traditionally decorated with the blue dragon and phoenix. It was a very stressful situation and when we felt at our most fragile, they were there to take care of us, strangers they just met. This says everything about these wonderful people. Even though the illness of my girlfriend and the rough situation, we think back to our stay with a very warm hearth as our special experience forged a bond we'll never forget. We are incredibly lucky to have met Li and her family. We have said thank you to them 100s of times already, but I can't express enough how grateful I am for this people. Thank you for taking care of us like your family!!! ＜3 If you are unsure about staying here, there is truly no reason why you shouldn't! Faceva molto caldo e il ragazzo della locanda ci aspettava da tempo al parcheggio, aspettando pazientemente per un bel po', il che ci ha commosso molto. Autobus turistico, navetta panoramica e poi camminata: è stato un bel tour de force, e quella comunicazione del parco ci ha lasciato senza parole. Ma una volta arrivati in camera, con l'intero villaggio Miao che si apriva davanti ai nostri occhi, tutta la fatica e il leggero risentimento sono svaniti all'istante. La locanda si trova proprio accanto al punto panoramico, si prende un piccolo sentiero per raggiungerla. Abbiamo scelto una stanza ai piani alti e la vista dal balcone era la stessa del punto panoramico, assolutamente mozzafiato. La stanza non era molto alta, ma era estremamente pulita ed elegante, e i prodotti da bagno erano di ottima qualità, il dentifricio era di Yunnan Baiyao. Appena arrivati in locanda, ci hanno offerto un tè pomeridiano. La sera, seduti sul balcone, ammirando il paesaggio e chiacchierando, mettendo da parte la commercializzazione, il villaggio Miao è davvero molto bello. Anche la colazione era buona, una porzione individuale molto rinfrescante. Dopo colazione, il tempo si è schiarito e fare una passeggiata dal sentiero accanto alla locanda fino al fiume ai piedi della montagna è stata un'ottima esperienza, per poi tornare indietro in auto. Il servizio della locanda è eccellente. Abbiamo notato un piccolo difetto nella stanza e l'abbiamo menzionato casualmente alla reception. We arrived in Xijiang and were immediately met with such a kind surprise—they upgraded our room for my birthday, which truly set the tone for our entire stay. We were on the third floor with the most wonderful view, looking out over their little water feature and the village beyond. Our balcony, complete with a tea set and two chairs, quickly became one of our favorite spots. Sitting there, especially in the evening, felt magical—like we were nestled among the stars overlooking the town. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the viewing platform and easily accessible down into the main village. Arriving was also incredibly smooth. As first-time visitors to China, we were quite nervous navigating trains and logistics as English speakers, but the hotel staff stepped in early with clear, thoughtful guidance. From the very beginning, they were attentive, responsive, and genuinely kind. When we arrived at the North Gate after taking the shuttle into the scenic area, a staff member met us and carried both of our bags up the hill and stairs to the accommodation. This was such a thoughtful gesture—especially because the terrain can be challenging. (For future travelers: if possible, avoid bringing heavy suitcases—but if you do, you’ll be very well taken care of here.) Check-in was seamless, and our room was extremely comfortable with all the amenities we needed. They provided water, soft robes, and made communication very easy via WeChat. Breakfast was also a highlight—we opted for the Chinese breakfast, which was light, healthy, and a perfect way to start the day before exploring all the incredible street food in town. We especially loved the communal living space—a cozy café-style area with a balcony overlooking the village. It was such a peaceful place to sit, have tea, and take in the views both during the day and under the night sky. They also had everything you could need: a coffee maker, dishes, mugs, and even fresh spring water, which was a lovely touch. The warmth of the people here truly made the experience unforgettable. The housekeeping staff were so kind, and the younger staff members were incredibly helpful and attentive. It really felt like being welcomed into a home rather than just staying at a hotel. And the little cats around the property made it even more special. On our departure day, we were running late for the last bus, and one of the younger staff members carried my very heavy bag down the hill and practically ran with it to make sure we made it on time. He stayed with us until we were safely on board. That level of care and service is something we will never forget. We would return in a heartbeat. Thank you, thank you, thank you again to the family and the entire staff for your kindness and for taking such wonderful care of us. You made our short stay in Xijiang an absolute pleasure and a weekend we will remember forever.

The hotel is within walking distance to xiaoqingkong bridge. We had a good time over there. The breakfast was excellent and the room was very clean. I was not impressed with service though. First we couldn’t make the AC working right and the room was freezing. We called the front desk for help. The service person wouldn’t even enter our room to check and told us nothing could be done but to turn it off. Second, we ordered hotel transportation to take us the the tourist center the next morning at 7:15 so we could take an early train back. We arrived at the front desk to find out that no arrangements had been made and they called the driver after we got there and were ready to leave. The driver didn’t arrive until after 7:30, 15 minutes after our scheduled departure time! Luckily we planned a little extra time and didn’t miss our trains but the service was unacceptable.
