A truly exceptional stay on Jiuhuashan I have stayed in many guesthouses across China, but this one stands out in a very special way. From the very first moment, the communication via WeChat was friendly, quick, and reliable – even though my Chinese is limited and the staff’s English is not extensive. Still, everything worked beautifully. Warm, patient, uncomplicated. It already gives you the feeling that you are in good hands. I stayed for two days, and throughout my entire time there, everything was perfectly organized. I was picked up right on time upon arrival – an invaluable service in a mountain area that can be a little confusing for newcomers. The guesthouse itself is extremely comfortable: warm, well-designed rooms with excellent facilities, a huge screen, electric curtains, cozy bedding, and all the small details that make travel easier. I immediately felt welcomed and well taken care of. During my stay, the staff assisted me with everything I needed, always with kindness and without any complications. When it was time to leave, they also arranged transport back to my bus at exactly the time I requested. Truly flawless service. But the most extraordinary highlight was something I did not expect at all: the free guided tour that the homestay organizes for all their guests. They drove us to the starting point, and then we spent the day walking through the misty mountain paths, visiting nine of the most important temples on Jiuhuashan. It was magical – quiet, mysterious, deeply atmospheric. Our guide took wonderful care of everyone, explained so much about the temples, the mountain, the history, and the spirit of Dizang Bodhisattva, and created a sense of depth that went far beyond sightseeing. This was not a tourist activity. It was a spiritual and cultural experience – something you can only receive from people who truly love their mountain and want to share it with others. In the fog, among ancient stones, incense smoke, and the sound of footsteps on wet leaves, one begins to understand why Jiuhuashan has been a sacred place for centuries. My conclusion: This homestay offers not only comfort, warmth, and excellent service, but also a genuine connection to the spiritual heart of Jiuhuashan. I can recommend Tanxiangyuan Homestay without any hesitation. For pilgrims, travelers, lovers of nature, or anyone seeking a meaningful experience, this place is simply perfect. I am grateful for every moment I spent there.

La pensione dispone di un elegante bar al primo piano. Le camere sono pulite e dotate di vasca da bagno. Anche la posizione è ottima, proprio accanto al ponte Tangkou. Nelle giornate limpide, si può vedere il monte Huangshan direttamente dalla porta. La stazione dei trasporti dell'area panoramica di Huangshan è a 10 minuti a piedi. Il proprietario e il personale sono incredibilmente gentili. La pensione mette a disposizione bastoncini da trekking in prestito e il proprietario ci ha persino accompagnato alla stazione dopo la nostra visita. A Hotel You Literally Have to Find Underground Hefei South Railway Station I arrived in Hefei at night, impressed by China’s almost legendary punctuality — something my own country once specialised in, long ago. The airport shuttle glided through wide, perfectly straight roads lined with glowing skyscrapers. A good start. Then I reached Hefei South Station, opened Trip.com, and was told: “Your hotel is right here.” Technically true — but only if you know it’s directly underneath your feet. After wandering around the huge empty square, a very kind police officer rescued me, pointed to a lonely elevator in the middle of the plaza (it looked more like modern art than an entrance), and down I went into the hidden world below. The hotel is built inside the station itself — small clusters of rooms tucked between luggage areas and service corridors. From reception to my room it was about 300 metres of underground sightseeing. My VIBRAM-soled hiking boots even stuck to the floor at first (someone must have spilled a bottle of very enthusiastic orange soda), but the cleaning staff fixed everything with great care and many smiles. Breakfast was the most unforgettable part: served inside a convenience store full of police officers and station staff queueing for their morning noodles. No English menu, lots of friendly confusion, and eventually I received three cold eggs and a massive seaweed-wrapped rice block the size of two fists. I decided to spare myself — life is too short for certain experiments — and found a latte upstairs instead. Una bella opportunità di vivere l'ospitalità cinese. Ho soggiornato con il mio gatto e ci siamo sentiti molto benvenuti. Il proprietario è molto attento e guarda bene i suoi ospiti. È bello sapere che la ricezione è al terzo piano. La stanza era spaziale e pulita. Il letto era molto comodo, una zona tranquilla e una casa perfetta, solo se avete bisogno di un buon riposo o di viaggiare con un animale domestico ansioso.

The owner is a charmant woman who is very adaptable, kind and helpful. The Room and the globality of the hostel is clean and very well arranged. I loved My Stay there.

This hostel in Tangkouzhen is one of the best hostels I stayed at because the boss is very helpful and friendly. The domintory room is cleaned daily. He even lent the hiking stick to Mt Huangshan hikers. He gave me a famous Huangshan crispy biscuit as a gift. He found my wallet left on the floor and returned it to me. The guests can fully appreciate his friendly services and tips on climbing Mt Huangshan. I also invited him to visit Malaysia if he has time.
