My mate and I stayed here for three days because of a conference at CCSU. It was the closest hotel to the university (＜15min walk), so I would rate that as a 5/5 (all other hotels were like 40 minutes by bus). The room should not be expected to be super clean. The mattress, kitchen, tables, etc., were clean, but there were stains on the walls. There are no kitchenware, cups, or anything, so you'll have to bring your own or purchase at a grocery store. Also, they only provide 1 really small shampoo bottle (not even a bottle, it's actually a lipstick size) for the entire stay so bring your own or buy at a grocery store. Laundry and Dryer costs $3.25 each load. We forgot about our laundry and picked them up like 2 hrs after the completion, and found our clothes just sitting on a table. But I guess thats on us... There is a machine to purchase detergent and softener for about $1 (I think). The closest grocery store is about a 5 min walk, and the store is pretty big, so if you ever need anything, you can just go there to get it. The walls are very thin between rooms, I could hear what people next door were talking, especially at night. Kids screaming and shouting in the hallway sometimes but I got used to it so that wasn't a huge deal. Towels are provided only once, but you can bring them to the front every day to get a clean one. The check-out process is easy, just leave the room key inside the room and leave. Overall if you are not living here for a really long time this place is sufficient. You get fridge, TV, beds, shower, sink, etc., so all the things I mentioned above won't be a huge problem.

Ethan Allen Hotel, Danbury, CT We recently stayed at the Ethan Allen Hotel and had a generally pleasant experience. When we walked into the lobby, we were impressed by how welcoming and well-maintained it was. There was a convenient self-serve coffee and tea station with water and all the necessary condiments, which was a nice touch. Check-in was quick and easy. We were given a room on the first floor. Upon entering, we found the room to be very clean and spacious. Although we didn’t unpack, there was ample space for clothing and storage. A desk and chair were available, which would be useful for anyone needing to get work done. The room also included a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker with pods, teabags, and all the condiments, very convenient. The TV was a good size and worked well. That said, the room itself is definitely in need of some upgrades. The sheers were broken and hanging off the hooks, and the privacy curtains were difficult to close. Both the curtains and sheers appeared worn and could use a good cleaning. The ceiling panels were noticeably yellowed, and while the bathroom was clean, it too showed signs of age. On a positive note, the towels were plentiful and of nice quality, and I appreciated the makeup mirror in the bathroom. The bed was very clean and comfortable. In summary, this hotel has many good qualities, especially in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and service. However, I would love to see the guest rooms updated to better match the inviting look and feel of the lobby. I would consider staying here again, especially if room renovations were made.

The second night brought a few challenges—minimal bathroom ventilation, a louder air conditioner, and some trouble connecting to Wi-Fi. However, the hotel staff were attentive and promptly offered me a new room, which resolved these issues and provided a much smoother experience. I took advantage of the fitness center, though navigating the new treadmills was a bit tricky since they weren’t pre-programmed. While the pool closure was disappointing, the hotel acknowledged my concerns and generously offered me a complimentary dinner with a drink. On the third night, I accidentally left my car keys behind when heading out in the morning. Upon returning, my key card didn’t work, but the staff quickly resolved the issue. Later, I relaxed in my room, appreciating the view despite a minor inconvenience with a broken curtain rod. Once again, the hotel addressed my concerns with care, granting me a complimentary night and a refund as a gesture of goodwill. While the hotel has room for improvement with its facilities, the staff truly stood out with their professionalism, teamwork, and genuine efforts to ensure my comfort. Their dedication turned what could have been a frustrating experience into one that left me feeling valued. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

Great location across from the Capitol Building. However, room itself was just alright. The bedding was lacking, especially the very thin comforter. The cleanliness inside the building was also just ok. The parking garage should be renovated.

This hotel is in immediate need of reinvestment. It was built in the 50's and it looks like in the rooms that was the last time any money was spent. You have a small in the window air conditioner unit. The two night stand lights did not work. The safe did not work. The hair dryer did not work but the front desk provided a new one. The bathroom sink was stained or dirty. To flush the toilet you have to stand there and hold the flipper down until the toilet completes flushing. The ironing board had been bent at some time in its history so it sloped down went set up. There was no elevator so you carry your belongings up an old metal outside staircase to the second floor. This hotel is in an excellent location and the exterior looks wonderful. But I would recommend that you stay elesewhere.
