During winter, the road for the last 800 meters before reaching the hotel is closed, and you must walk in. Guests need to park at Okama Onsen first. Before arrival, you are required to inform the hotel of your check-in time so that a staff member can guide you on foot to the property. The staff will help carry your luggage, but if you have many bags, it’s best to inform them in advance. The highlight of this stay is definitely the walk to the hotel. You walk deep into the forest along towering walls of snow on both sides, and eventually discover the onsen hidden in the woods. It feels truly special and secluded. The lobby area is not very large, and the number of staff is quite limited, but overall the service was very good. Dinner was served at a counter bar, and the chef was extremely friendly and spoke good English. The receptionist at the lobby, who is from Taiwan, speaks English, Chinese, and Japanese fluently. She explained everything clearly, helped carry our luggage on the way out, and even assisted with clearing snow off our car. Personally, I found the public onsen area to be a bit disappointing. The floor was icy and slippery, which felt somewhat unsafe. However, the private onsen in the room was excellent — very private, spacious for an in-room bath, with a beautiful view and wonderfully fragrant mineral water. The room itself was spacious, quiet, and peaceful. Mobile signal does not work inside the hotel, but the hotel provides Wi-Fi, which was stable and fast. Both breakfast and dinner were very good, and the hotel responded to emails and accommodated our special dietary requests, which we really appreciated. The only regret was that the snow was extremely deep during our visit, making it hard to fully see and imagine the surrounding scenery.

Apologies for the rather low score on service but as this is an unmanned hotel, and I had no direct experience of utilising the help line, I could not rate any higher; I did bump into the cleaning ladies, who are doing an excellent job, on my early morning departure, and they were most kind. The hotel is right next to the train station and has its own storage lockers as well as a beautifully maintained lobby with excellent amenities, including vending machines and freely available teas and coffee. The room was well appointed and clean and there was no noise, as expected in a more rural area. The day before check-in, one will receive an email and will be asked to fill out a pre-check in procedure which will produce a QR code necessary when actually checking in at the machines upon arrival-there are no staff on site. This proved seamless for myself, but may be somewhat perplexing or frustrating for older folks or those, like myself, who are not so technologically literate. There is a help button for those who may need it. I was delighted to find that there are coin operated washing/drying machines available. Nearby, there are cafes and bakeries and everything worth seeing is within manageable walking distance. Walking a little further will bring one to some lovely shrines at the end of the town and on the opposite end a beautiful view overlooking the town and the cherry blossom lined river. Having missed cherry blossom season by a few weeks, the view at both sunrise and sunset was worn the extra steps. Do try the local udon, the set pictured was from Machiya Hall and was most delicious.

Questa piccola città sembra aver aperto questo hotel e anche la nostra famiglia di ospiti quella notte.La famiglia del capo è molto gentile, il servizio è molto buono e fa tutto il possibile per aiutare gli ospiti. Il caldo è anche dentro e fuori. Il cibo è un po'come il cibo comune giapponese, molto fresco, molto dolce.Le strutture sono vecchie, e non c'è ascensore, il bagaglio è molto stanco.

We drove to the hotel and appreciated the big free parking available. We also noted the proximity of the train station, so location wise, it is convenient yet gives the sense of seclusion which is perfect for relaxation. Check in was a breeze, the English proficiency of the receptionist with the printed information in English good enough. the Onsen was large and the outdoor part was a joy! i particularly enjoyed my time there soaking in the hot water, listening to the sound of the flowing river and watching the fauna. food spread, quality and quantity at both dinner and breakfast was excellent. i noted that the staffs were diligently topping up items that were running out even to later in the meal times, unlike some places where they may just not do so. We booked a room with open air bath and it was worth the money for it! would totally do that again when i return and highly recommended. must compliment the lounge with their welcome drinks and rice crackers which you can help yourself to. although its just rice crackers, it a nice touch, perhaps adding some nuts is my only suggestion. would highly recommend this place to stay if around, in fact we deliberately chose to stay here to break our journey from Hirosaki to Morioka, so glad we did!

The hotel itself was nice and clean. The rooms are spacious. There's a heater and dehumidifier in the room. Food is buffet breakfast and dinner. We were in the west wing which requires a bit of a walk to get to the room. And the main inconvenience is there is a flight of stairs to get up before having an elevator to the room floor. The outdoor onsen is in a different section to the indoor onsen. The hotel is certainly geared for skiers as everything closes during the middle of the day (souvenir shop, onsen). So make sure you have activities booked in advance. The website of the hotel is also a bit confusing with the number in-house activities available - be sure to check with the front counter first. Peak hour staff has good command in English but need translation for night staff. A few things of note: - the shuttle is very busy at the 3pm and 10am run - make sure you pre-book - there is a shuttle to tsurunoyu iriguchi onsen 鶴の湯温泉 from a bus stop near the hotel, no need to take the public bus

Ma la casa è molto costosa, soprattutto nella stagione dei fiori e delle foglie di pesce, e'ancora una casa difficile. Ho prenotato quattro mesi prima (il popolo del cortile è elegante) ¥ 996 yuan / 2 notti con precoce basso prezzo, quindi questo è uno dei popoli di pochi. La signora giapponese è molto brava e entusiasta. La colazione è fatta da lei in modo personale con cibo locale, fornisce pranzo e pomeriggio all'estero, e vende cibo a mano.Il popolo ha un noleggio gratuito di biciclette e può facilmente rilassare tutte le case Wujian del Cornwall. Molti locali giapponesi e vecchi stranieri che vivono qui, e Taiwan, sono tutti inglesi, come noi, gli anziani del continente che non parlano giapponesi e non inglese. Il capo ha paura di avere qualche problema. Chiedete all'insegnante che si ritira all'università di Cork per chiederci se abbiamo qualche problema! Il capo ha saputo che dovremmo dare un taxi per la stazione JR del Cornwall per circa le 6:30 di domani, ma l'auto del Cornwall ha iniziato alle 8:00. Il capo ha messo il tempo per mandarci personalmente alla stazione ferroviaria. E'veramente molto in movimento!Ma se il popolo non ha servito la stazione di trasporto, abbiamo messo l'auto a 800 chilometri al punto di arrivo.

Grande hotel, molto convenientemente situato vicino alla stazione JR. Le strutture sono complete, molti posti per prendere qualcosa da mangiare anche. Vorrei avere più tempo per vedere la città, ma ho lasciato presto per andare a Kakunodate. Forse la prossima volta. La stanza era troppo calda, ma ho scoperto che solo al mattino c'è un pannello dove si può regolare la temperatura. La stanza dell'ala nord è bella, ma si deve camminare verso l'edificio principale per colazione e la stazione ferroviaria. La colazione era buona, un sacco di selecrion locale, ma molti dei piatti avevano maiale e non potevo mangiare. Aveva abbastanza salate e dolci disponibili. Il loro uovo scramble è anche bello.

This hotel is right next to a underground rock concert shop. It has frequent tenants who played there or attend the concerts there. If you are driving , you won’t be able to get their parking slots as it mostly reserved for the regulars. The nearby parking lots charges 400 Y from 4pm-8am so if you arrive shortly after check in time and decide to head out early the next day, you may use the 2 carparks that is right beside the hotel. If you can’t make it in time, the hotel cheapest parking option is behind Lawson where they have monthly season parking lots. It’s 600 yen per night from 3pm to 10am. room wise, price to value is below average probably becos of high demand in the vicinity. As for cleanliness, can be better improve. My aircon filter and air filter machine was producing really moldy and smell air , probably from previous guests who sweated in the room. Was a big turn off lucky I came during autumn, can just open the window to get cold air in.

Prima ho prenotato questo hotel caldo sabato e mi sono costato 33600 yuan. Pensavo di poter vivere in una grande stanza, ma dopo che tutto era finito a cena e due dormitori, tutto è diventato diverso. Non possiamo aprire il bagaglio, perché non c'è posto, andare in bagno con il salto, Perche'non c'è modo di andare, ho davvero un po'di aria per prenotare questa casa perché è LA VISTA ma il gruppo, ma il cibo e il sapore sono i prezzi giusti, la sala da pranzo calda è anche molto dolce, acqua, divertimento, latte fresco, ma non c'è frutta,, Questo è anche un posto strano che penso sia. E spesso passiamo attraverso il tavolo. Quando sei l'aria, tutti i camerieri sono in modo che l'hotel si sposta. Abbiamo appena lasciato la stanza e indossato le scarpe. Arrivederci, si ritrovano e non sono arrivati alla porta. Sono davvero troppo in attesa?
