Regno Unito: hotel con parcheggio nella provincia di Scottish Borders

Well it was once my family home, I come from the Murray's of black barony on my mother's side. Everyone was very kind and helpful, the place looks like it could do with a lick of paint but it is an ancient building I suppose. The ground and surrounding trees are beautiful, the ceilings could be higher but I suppose people weren't so tall back in those days although my grandfather was 6 foot 5 and I'm 6 foot 2 so I think my family are mostly quite tall. It was grand but not as grand as I had imagined from the photos and my mental image of the place having never visited before but knowing it was built by my aristocratic family. I half expected a free cup of tea and a slice of cake which I jokingly mentioned to the staff when I booked my stay 😂, but you know as with any chain these personal privileges can't be authorised without going to head quarters probably in some other country like America?

Lovely hotel with a great spa and beautiful overall. The restaurant was very good as well, although quite expensive. Our main disappointment was the change to the kids’ pool access policy. It used to include both a morning and afternoon slot, but children are now only allowed in the morning. It definitely gave the impression that the hotel is moving towards discouraging families from visiting the hotel. Unfortunately, the staff attitude reinforced this feeling. We were repeatedly reminded when our child needed to leave the spa, including being stopped well before the end of the allocated time to make sure we were aware of the cut-off. It just didn’t feel particularly welcoming or family-friendly. That said, it is probably a nice choice for couples looking for a quiet, child-free getaway and who are happy with the premium pricing (for example, around £15 for a glass of wine).

Gli hotel erano un grande servizio, fab e cibo in un ristorante grande. Solo una cosa mancata è un jacuzzi nel bagno. Il nostro viaggio è stato rovinato dalla ricezione che ci ha costretto due volte per il nostro alloggio. Già pagato via trip.com e poi è tornato a casa per scoprire l'hotel aveva anche pagato direttamente. Nonostante informare l'Hotel di questo errore il giorno di partenza, una settimana dopo e numerosi telefoni telefonici abbiamo ancora non restituito il denaro al nostro account. Di conseguenza, non rientraremo come un povero servizio post-viaggi clienti!

I had a fantastic weekend at the Newcastle arms hotel, it was a welcoming and friendly environment, the staff were friendly enough, Michelle and Lorain went out of there way to make sure we were happy and catered for in every way there such lovely people. I would definitely stay again, the rooms are reasonable priced and it’s a lovely little village, there’s not much to do In the town but it’s lovely for a relaxing trip away, I would recommend to others.

Soggiorno decisamente positivo al Melrose Abbott. La struttura si è rivelata molto pulita e l'accoglienza è stata gentile e molto ospitale. Il letto era molto comodo, garantendo un ottimo riposo. Il bagno è un po' piccolo (ero in una camera singola), ma assolutamente funzionale e ok per tutte le esigenze. Certo, i prezzi della zona sono un po' alti, ma nel complesso questa struttura è più economica rispetto agli altri hotel di Melrose.

La posizione è grande, la stanza è spaziosa ma temo che sia stata quasi una notte senza sonno, perché il fan della camera da bagno era troppo alto (non meno che un foro che correva con un suono intermittente) non solo nella nostra stanza ma anche in quella sopra. A metà della notte sopra la stanza, il fan del bagno si fermò per più di 30 minuti in poche occasioni e era troppo turbante con il rumore. La colazione era buona, ma non buona.

Gorgeous old family estate turned Hotel/Guest House. Spacious and comfortable room. Perfect location to come back to after driving around exploring the Scottish Boarders. Breakfast service was lacking in its service. Young and inexperienced staff spent too much time standing around doing nothing instead of ensuring the buffet was stocked, used dishes cleared off tables, or even tables set for guests.

Lovely room, brilliant location, staff were friendly and welcoming. Place to store bikes and sunny outdoor space. Only minor flaw was not being able to order my favourite cocktail from the bar (despite it being stocked with all the ingredients to make it). Will definitely be back.

Aveva un grande soggiorno 4-night a Tontine. Tutto il personale era amichevole e molto utile. Il cibo era delizioso e c'era una buona scelta. Il nostro posto preferito era nel salone su un divano confortevole con un cocktail. Spero di restare di nuovo.

Beautiful building set up high out of Hawick. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, great food in lovely restaurant. Basic bedroom was large, well-equipped with great shower room. Cleanliness10 out of 10. Will use again.
