ZZo_e178Location is brilliant. Check in was easy. Relatively clean room aside from the dust bunnies on the two bedside lamps.
The room did not have any shampoos and body wash as it was used up by previous guests. I called reception and they said they will send someone shortly to get me some but it never happened. After two hours, I called again…..five times and different intervals and nobody picked up. In the end, I just used the hand soap….which also had a little left.
Ordered room service and the service was fast and friendly. Food is dreadful though. Overcooked bland chicken breast and the calamari had too much flour that I couldn’t even taste the squid.
Will stay again as the price was good but probably wouldn’t eat here again.

UUtente ospiteWe stayed in a 1 bed lodge. The property had everything you need and the washing machine/ tumble was a great addition and we were also given a few wash sheets- bonus.It was also fully equipped with the little things that makes the stay more enjoyable/ comfortable such as kitchen roll/ tea towels/ liquid/ coffee/ tea/ milk sachets and shower gel/ shampoo. The heater in the bathroom was also great to offload wet towels from the pool.
The house itself was good. The only thing that would have made it a tad better was a little bit more attention to cleanliness detail. However I am certain that had we pointed this out to staff this would have been rectified as they did with a request for change of bedding. On the flip side, if it had been overly spotless I probably wouldn’t have relaxed either with our 2 children. In all, we cannot complain for price we paid.
The events put on was a lovely surprise as we didn’t expect this. This ranged from bingo, bouncy castle and a magic show.
The different food vans each evening were a lovely touch. We only tried the chicken curry on a Monday evening and to be honest, we thought it lacked on flavour.
The peacocks were super amazing wondering around and the three little ducks.
Lovely location to go out and explore we went to Bucks Mill ( beautiful) Bute ( beautiful) and Westwood Ho! Also nice for a bit more ambient. Also, if you have children, the milkyway adventure park is a lovely addition and takes about 25 minutes.

UUtente ospiteA lovely hotel in a charming building with friendly, welcoming staff. The rooms were dated but very clean, and for the price it offered a pleasant, budget‑friendly stay. Personally, I would choose to pay a bit more next time for somewhere more modern, but for anyone needing a cheap and comfortable night, this place is ideal and great value.

RRPSMAbbiamo soggiornato in due camere King con balconi come famiglia e l'hotel nel suo complesso ha molto da fare. La posizione è fantastica nel cuore di Exeter, perfetto per camminare ovunque. L'hotel stesso è molto bello, soprattutto il bar celeste in alto piano. Le viste sono eccellenti, le bevande sono molto buone, e il servizio in alto è stato genuinamente amichevole e attento. Abbiamo anche preso alcuni nibbles nel ristorante in basso e il cibo e il servizio erano solidi.
Le camere erano pulite, spaziose e i balconi erano un bel toccamento, tutto si sentiva moderno e confortevole.
L'unico reale downside e è un grande è il servizio di desk front. Per un hotel a questo punto di prezzo (e soprattutto come proprietà IHG), è davvero lasciato tutto il posto. Il personale era lento, non particolarmente conosciuto (e odio aggiungere, non il ”più veloce”), e a volte molto breve/ridotto. Ci è stato detto quando ci siamo accertati che avremmo avuto un checkout tardivo come membri dell’IHG, ma quando siamo tornati più tardi un altro membro del personale non aveva idea di cosa stavo parlando e sembrava confuso su come gestirlo. Alla fine ha offerto solo una stanza fino alle 12:00, che dopo un check-in alle 3:00 non si sente davvero come un check-out tardivo.
Viaggiamo molto e l'esperienza del desk front here è stata notevolmente inferiore al standard. Il resto dell'hotel (camere, bar, ristorante, posizione) è davvero buono, ma il povero servizio front-of-house è quello che ricordiamo di più. Vorrei restare ancora? Probabilmente, a causa della posizione e delle camere, ma spero davvero che essi possano organizzare la formazione e l'atteggiamento del desktop.

UUtente ospiteThe hotel was really convenient for the train station being only 5 to 10 minutes walk away. This was great as we had booked a train via Trip at a super price. The hotel is a great base to explore the area including Brixham, Torquay, Teignmouth and Dawlish - using the train was cheap and quick. Now for the hotel - We arrived at around 2pm and the room was ready which was a result. The lift is operated by the room key and is good for security. The room was clean and large with a super king sized bed and a walk in shower with toiletries and hairdryer. There is also an iron and ironing board if needed. The room was very comfortable and extremely quiet and soundproofed. There is air con or heating in the room and the maid visited daily to make up the room and replenish the tea and coffee. We booked a breakfast included room - highly recommended! There is a buffet for hot breakfast plus cereals, fruit, toast, croissants and pastries. Tea, coffee and juices. Everything was replenished as needed - My advice is to book this because it is £18 PP if bought on the day. The staff here were exceptional from the front desk to the maids and the restaurant and bar staff - very nice crew and most helpful and polite. We ate in the hotel on one of our nights and found there to be a decent choice with a vegetarian option or two. There are a few good eating houses nearby - we recommend Henrys Bar and The Local Thai as really good places. Overall this hotel is extremely good and very good value for money - We will stay again if in the area.

UUtente ospiteWe stayed in a family club room with our 3 year old grandson. The room was huge with 3 French doors leading to large balcony & magnificent garden & sea views. The heated pool was superb. Our only niggle would be that because of the dog friendly nature of the hotel there were perhaps naturally dog hairs on the bar/dining room & the shower could have benefitted from a deep clean. Due to the age of the hotel we accept that upgrades occur as necessary on an ongoing basis. Parking was great & all the staff were helpful & friendly. We would definitely return again.

UUtente ospiteThe hotel itself was nice; can’t fault it. Our room however, had a weird, stale smell and was off-putting, with no way to ventilate the room by opening the windows, as you cannot open them - A/C is not a natural ventilation.
Bed was comfortable, slept perfectly fine, just not nice waking up with the smell, as mentioned before.
Breakfast was good, although I’ve had better.

AAndyPPThe hotel and area was fantastic, however, service at the front desk and the restaurant was lacking.
We took a long weekend break and were excited to try the beach club, however our experience was dampened by the service.
Being made to stand around for 5 minutes, whilst being told we hadn't paid (when we had) was unnecessary and frankly embarrassing.
The restaurant was the most disappointing part of the stay.
I'm the evening service was slow, followed by having our order wrong twice and also dropped.
Breakfast at the restaurant was lacking compared to cheaper hotels that offer continental. Small selection , nothing outstanding. When we ordered a cooked breakfast, it took 30-40 minutes to receive some eggs and pancakes although the restaurant was fairly quiet.
However, the room, facilities, and the spa were fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The beach club outside was gorgeous. The spa was perfect and treatments were, to quote my partner, 'one of the best massages of my life'.
We're unsure if we would come back. Although the facilities were great, the service was mostly subpar and not what we'd expect from a harbour hotel.
