UUtente ospiteCost wise it was reasonable, and the location is bang in the middle of Plymouth shopping area. Parking is right under the hotel, and check in was quick. Room was very tidy and spacious, and cool enough but no air conditioning., just fan. Staff were all lovely, bar staff, reception and service staff, notably Christopher at breakfast who went out of his way to entertain my little girl. Food wise was OK, but 2 complaints. The breakfast orange juice is not fresh, or it's watered down, not nice. And for evening meal I ordered fish and chips, and it was a SLIVER of fish in batter....which for the cost was ridiculous. The staff were very understanding, but the kitchen should definitely seen a new supplier. Overall, it was a lovely stay and would definitely go back...my gripes are purely for management if they wish to address them for future guests. Recommend.

SSantha_RoyIl posto è bello, con i pecocchi in giro.Abbiamo avuto un bel soggiorno, ma il bagno era un po' un disturbo. C'era un posto in doccia, ma purtroppo il nostro doccia non aveva un buon sistema di riscaldamento, quindi non potevamo usarlo.

UUtente ospiteOur driver stays in hotels all over the UK while transporting vehicles for our business, and he says this is by far one of the best places he stays. The hotel is consistently very clean, the service from the staff is excellent, and everything is well organised and comfortable.
A major advantage for us is the parking. It is very convenient for larger vehicles, and our driver is able to park a truck and trailer without difficulty, which is not always easy to find when travelling for work.
Because of this, whenever we have jobs in the Exeter area, this is always the hotel he prefers to stay at. Highly recommended and we will definitely continue using it whenever we are in the area.

RRPSMAbbiamo soggiornato in due camere King con balconi come famiglia e l'hotel nel suo complesso ha molto da fare. La posizione è fantastica nel cuore di Exeter, perfetto per camminare ovunque. L'hotel stesso è molto bello, soprattutto il bar celeste in alto piano. Le viste sono eccellenti, le bevande sono molto buone, e il servizio in alto è stato genuinamente amichevole e attento. Abbiamo anche preso alcuni nibbles nel ristorante in basso e il cibo e il servizio erano solidi.
Le camere erano pulite, spaziose e i balconi erano un bel toccamento, tutto si sentiva moderno e confortevole.
L'unico reale downside e è un grande è il servizio di desk front. Per un hotel a questo punto di prezzo (e soprattutto come proprietà IHG), è davvero lasciato tutto il posto. Il personale era lento, non particolarmente conosciuto (e odio aggiungere, non il ”più veloce”), e a volte molto breve/ridotto. Ci è stato detto quando ci siamo accertati che avremmo avuto un checkout tardivo come membri dell’IHG, ma quando siamo tornati più tardi un altro membro del personale non aveva idea di cosa stavo parlando e sembrava confuso su come gestirlo. Alla fine ha offerto solo una stanza fino alle 12:00, che dopo un check-in alle 3:00 non si sente davvero come un check-out tardivo.
Viaggiamo molto e l'esperienza del desk front here è stata notevolmente inferiore al standard. Il resto dell'hotel (camere, bar, ristorante, posizione) è davvero buono, ma il povero servizio front-of-house è quello che ricordiamo di più. Vorrei restare ancora? Probabilmente, a causa della posizione e delle camere, ma spero davvero che essi possano organizzare la formazione e l'atteggiamento del desktop.

We have been to the cliffden hotel three times and had a club room on the first floor they were nice large rooms but this time we were on the second floor our room was very small and claustrophobic nothing like the photos in the booking . We asked for a different room and the man at reception said see me tomorrow morning and if there's a larger room you can have it. Later on in the day my partner went to reception to book a table for an evening meal for us. While she was booking the table the lady at the reception said there were no other rooms you can have. The barman was very polite nice to chat to. We only had one meal in the evening cod and chips could not find much cod it was all batter. Other meal gammon and chips gammon would be good to repair your soles on your shoes. Go to the local chip shop absolutely beautiful. We used the indoor swimming pool which was nice and clean. The gardens are lovely, and the beer is very expensive. Go to the jolly sailor pub with drinks at good prices. Reception is not very helpful. I can't understand why the hotel puts people with dogs on the second floor because when the dog wants to go to the toilet by the time you get down to the entrance the dog has already peed on the carpets. Luckily our dog can hold her pee and she is small enough to carry.I have followed other people with their dogs and seen it. Overall we were very disappointed with our stay this time.

UUtente ospiteThe hotel itself was nice; can’t fault it. Our room however, had a weird, stale smell and was off-putting, with no way to ventilate the room by opening the windows, as you cannot open them - A/C is not a natural ventilation.
Bed was comfortable, slept perfectly fine, just not nice waking up with the smell, as mentioned before.
Breakfast was good, although I’ve had better.

Unfortunately we had an issue outside our bedroom which I reported to reception in the morning as I feel it is a security issue.
In the middle of the night we had a man knock on our door and he tried to get in. He was walking up and down the corridor and appeared to be drunk. He then lay outside our room and fell asleep. About 30 minutes later we heard him again knock on another door.
Although we think he was probably a resident it did concern us as anyone could get access to the bedrooms as there is no security to get up the stairs. There is no swipe card access and I think this needs to be addressed as it is a safety concern.

AAndyPPThe hotel and area was fantastic, however, service at the front desk and the restaurant was lacking.
We took a long weekend break and were excited to try the beach club, however our experience was dampened by the service.
Being made to stand around for 5 minutes, whilst being told we hadn't paid (when we had) was unnecessary and frankly embarrassing.
The restaurant was the most disappointing part of the stay.
I'm the evening service was slow, followed by having our order wrong twice and also dropped.
Breakfast at the restaurant was lacking compared to cheaper hotels that offer continental. Small selection , nothing outstanding. When we ordered a cooked breakfast, it took 30-40 minutes to receive some eggs and pancakes although the restaurant was fairly quiet.
However, the room, facilities, and the spa were fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The beach club outside was gorgeous. The spa was perfect and treatments were, to quote my partner, 'one of the best massages of my life'.
We're unsure if we would come back. Although the facilities were great, the service was mostly subpar and not what we'd expect from a harbour hotel.
