Great Value and Location, But Facilities Could be Better Stay Dates: November 14 - November 17, 2025 Room Type: Double Room High Floor My recent three-night stay at the Tune Hotel Georgetown Penang was a positive experience overall, primarily due to its unbeatable location and excellent value. The Location (5/5) truly is the highlight of this hotel. Being situated in Georgetown made exploring the city's main attractions, heritage sites, and famous hawker food spots incredibly convenient. If proximity to the heart of Penang is your priority, this hotel delivers perfectly. The Ondo Bakery across the street was my absolute favorite to visit daily! The Cleanliness (4/5) and Service (4/5) were both solid and up to standard. The room was kept clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly during check-in and throughout my stay, providing good, reliable service. The area where the hotel falls a little short is the Facilities (3/5 - Okay). While the room provided the basics needed for a comfortable stay—a comfortable bed and a reliable air conditioning unit—the overall facilities felt quite basic. This is typical of a budget-focused hotel, but those expecting extensive amenities might be disappointed. For a short stay where you plan to be out exploring all day, however, the facilities are perfectly adequate. In summary, the Tune Hotel Georgetown Penang is an excellent choice for budget-conscious travelers who prioritize location above all else. It offers a clean room and good service in a fantastic spot. If the hotel were to upgrade some of its amenities, it would easily earn a five-star rating from me.

Plus, the bustling Ayer Itam market and local eateries are just steps away . 🛏️ Comfortable, Functional Rooms My Deluxe King room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with essentials: reliable AC, free Wi‑Fi, a desk, TV, kettle, microwave, and hairdryer . The bed was very comfortable—ideal for debriefs or quiet work after a long day . ✅ Business‑Friendly Services Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient, with 24‑hour front desk service and secure key‑card entry. The free on-site parking was also a plus for business travellers driving between meetings . 💵 Excellent Value For the rate (around RM100–150/night), it offers strong value—clean, reliable, and conveniently located. Innanzitutto, un sentito ringraziamento al signor Vickneswaran del team di sicurezza per la sua calorosa guida e assistenza fin dal momento in cui siamo entrati nel parcheggio. È stato incredibilmente disponibile nell'indicarci dove andare e ci ha fatto sentire i benvenuti fin dall'inizio. Con mia sorpresa, uno dei membri dello staff ha persino condiviso una fetta di torta e ci ha augurato una meravigliosa luna di miele: un gesto davvero premuroso! (Ero così commossa che ho dimenticato di chiedere il nome del personale). Momenti come questi hanno reso il nostro soggiorno davvero memorabile. Nel complesso, il personale è stato sinceramente cordiale e disponibile e ci ha fatto sentire apprezzati durante tutta la nostra visita. Ho anche allegato una foto del delizioso biglietto di auguri che abbiamo ricevuto dal team: un altro dolce gesto che ricorderemo per sempre. Grazie ancora a tutto il team per aver fatto iniziare la nostra luna di miele con una così calorosa ospitalità!

Il mio primo viaggio a Penang dopo più di 10 anni e il soggiorno al Cititel si sono rivelati un'ottima scelta. La hall dell'hotel è bella, spaziosa e profumata. Gli addetti alla reception, i facchini, il personale del ristorante, il massaggiatore (io e mio marito abbiamo fatto un massaggio syok ai piedi e alle spalle) della City Spa e persino la zia del minimarket dell'hotel sono stati molto cordiali, disponibili e gentili! Anche la colazione era ottima! La posizione dell'hotel era a pochi passi da ottimi ristoranti e negozi! La camera è abbastanza grande, con un comodo letto king size e cuscini. La vista mare era fantastica. L'unico inconveniente è l'insonorizzazione della camera. Ho sentito strani rumori a tarda notte.

Ottima posizione, distanza a piedi da tutte le attrazioni turistiche e le fermate di autobus CAT sono a soli 5 minuti a piedi. L'hotel ha un'atmosfera cinese tradizionale. Una piccola piscina. Il personale è utile. Un personale superiore sembra non sembrare affettuoso né amichevole. La camera, il bagno n sono puliti. L'acqua è nascosta in una stanza (per le ipotesi di camera da letto) senza caffè o sacchetto di tè.

The hotel is great, staff are impeccable in their attentiveness to the guest. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was absolutely outstanding, with an abundance of choices catered to satisfy every taste. The pool and gym are also fantastic, with the added convenience of being open 24/7, to put in an early morning workout. Spacious and very well equipped and maintained. However, our stay was not without faults and there are definitely some things management needs to address: - the noise from the elevator automatic announcements is absurd! the ”doors opening/closing” alerts are constant and audible from neighboring floors as well as your own.If you stay in a room numbered xx15 or xx16, be advised you will not have a pleasant time - we asked to change rooms immediately as soon as we realized this. - elevators can be SLOW, magma slow. it can take a long time to move around if you are staying in a higher floor. We stayed for 2 nights and during that period 2 separate elevators were down for maintenance. It took us a total of 15 minutes to move from one floor to the other, after getting our room changed (for reasons stated above) and new keycards. - the level from street noise audible in the room is just inadmissible at a supposed 5-star hotel level, at least in the rooms facing the main road. These rooms have, inexplicably, a single pane of glass and very tall windows, which makes soundproofing pretty much nonexistent - mat rempit bikes racing in the dead of night, the call to prayer blasting from the loudspeakers of the mosque nearby before 6am, drilling from the construction site nearby, and other nuisances that definitely disturbed my sleep.

Ho prenotato un soggiorno di 3 notti, il check-in è stato piacevole e tempestivo. Una volta raggiunta la stanza, il water era intasato, il vetro del bagno era ammuffito. Il resto della stanza era ok ma c'era un odore di odore proveniente dalla moquette. La TV era come un modello obsoleto e la ricezione era orribile e poco chiara, cosa che non otteniamo al giorno d'oggi se non negli anni '80 o '90. La colazione era davvero semplice, dovresti saltarla e non sembra quella di un hotel. Ho fatto il check-out anticipato di un giorno e ho prenotato un altro hotel perché non mi sento bene.

It a old hotel, but well kept👍. The TV is ancient. The hotel needs to refurbish ASAP.🙏 The staffs is all very friendly and approachable. Except 1 staff at the reception during my checkout. It 11.30am on 29Nov, when I arrived at the reception. A Chinese male staff( slightly plump) just said to me : checking out. Without any smile in a uninterested and bored tone. Every staffs has did a wonderful job , but it takes only one staff to make it a not so pleasant visit. First of all, as a service provider especially in the front line. The basic mannerisms and greetings must be present. Like; Good morning sir. But none of it was displayed by him. To make it worse, he didn't smile at all, and doesn't seem to be interested in serving his guests. Other than that, everything is awesome especially a male malay reception staff. I forgot his name, he has displayed a friendly and helpful image to everyone.

It is a beachfront hotel. There is a beach that kids can swim and play there . It’s perfect for family. I like sit by the restaurant to watch the sunset and feel relaxed. The restaurant has breakfast but not variable enough. Beside has a friendly swimming pool for kids . There is a gym next to the pool. It is sea view gym but the equipment in there is not many choices. The hillside room is spacious and clean. But it is near to main road so you can hear the vehicle noise in the middle of night. The staff are very friendly and nice. If you like to eat the local food, there is a local food court in walking distance. There is variety of choices and delicious.
