We choose to stay in Swiss-Bel due to our great experience with Ciputra in Semarang which is owned by Swiss-Bel.
Unfortunately, Swiss-Bel Surabaya can't compete with Ciputra Semarang. Both hotels have similar pricing, but Ciputra has a much better atmosphere and amenities.
Swiss-Bel Surabaya has no bar area. The breakfast is served in the lobby where guests check-in and people outside walk by.
The food choice is much less than Ciputra and Swiss-Bel Malang.
However, the hotel itself is good and breakfast sufficient if you don't compare it with Ciputra and Swiss-Bel Malang.
One thing which absolutely needs to be improved is that jam, chocolate paste and peanut paste should be served in cups, not jars where guests have to scoop out the sweetness themselves with a knife or spoon.
This is unhygienic and not tasteful.

Facile accesso alla principale attrazione turistica di Surabaya, Jalan Tunjungan. Posizione molto bella, tranquilla. Tuttavia, ho trovato l'hotel un po' buio. È solo una questione di gusti personali. Preferisco ambienti luminosi e camere ben illuminate.

È un bell'hotel, con ottimi servizi e colazione. Anche la posizione è buona. Sfortunatamente, le lenzuola nella stanza erano troppo sporche. Non c'erano pieghe. Era ovvio che le lenzuola non erano state cambiate dall'inquilino precedente. Inoltre, c'erano macchie di sangue sulle lenzuola. Ho dovuto chiedere alla camera degli ospiti di cambiare le lenzuola nel cuore della notte.

C'è una sala fumatori, c'è un SAP all'11° piano e dalle 9 alle 15 c'è uno sconto del 20%. C'è una piscina al 17° piano, la biancheria da letto è comoda e c'è molta acqua calda! Il nostro volo partiva alle 9:50 del mattino. Se avessimo ordinato il servizio Grab alle 6:30, un autista avrebbe ritirato l'ordine rapidamente. Prendere un taxi per l'aeroporto sarebbe costato meno di 40 yuan. Siamo partiti la mattina presto e abbiamo chiesto all'hotel di prepararci la colazione in anticipo~

I had a wonderful experience at the Four Seasons by Sheraton. The location is perfect for tourists — there’s a large shopping mall right next door, making it super convenient for dining and shopping. A lively tourist street is also just a short walk away, so there’s always something to explore.
The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Overall, this hotel offers great comfort, convenience, and hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

RRose AnnWe use this place every time we go to Ijen to do birdwatching for years.
Room is ok with warm and good water pressure.
They have western and local restaurant on site. The Western one was ok but the local restaurant is always a no and serve poor quality food, the warung can serve better Nasi goreng than in here. Some of the server in the local restaurant are lack of training.

CCanghaiyiqiangSono rimasto molto soddisfatto dell'hotel; il servizio è stato eccellente e il personale molto gentile al momento del check-in. Al rientro in hotel la sera, ho dovuto passare attraverso i controlli di sicurezza, ma le guardie sono state molto disponibili e mi hanno fatto sentire al sicuro. Anche il cibo del servizio in camera era delizioso!

NNS30Baobab Safari Resort is located quite far from Surabaya city centre, but it is definitely worth the approximately 1-hour drive from Surabaya Airport.
We booked two connecting rooms, both with balconies. We were assigned to Level 4, and the view was absolutely magnificent, overlooking Mount Arjuno and Mount Welirang. Waking up to the mountain scenery was truly refreshing. Cooling weather, fresh air and beautiful scenery.
Food Experience
The highlight of the meals was the Nasi Rawon. The beef was very tender—soft and melt-in-the-mouth—and the soup was rich and flavourful. The portion size was generous. Other food items were acceptable but nothing particularly outstanding.
For breakfast, however, the buffet spread was rather limited, especially in terms of meat and protein options.
Room & Amenities
The room itself looked decent but slightly dated. That said, the beautiful view more than compensated for it.
One important note: do stock up on your own bottled water before arriving. The hotel uses refillable glass bottles, and unfortunately, the wooden covers of the glass containers appeared very mouldy, which was quite off-putting.
Activities & Environment
There are plenty of activities available. A walk through the Enchanted Forest thats full of pine trees and feeding area for Capybara, Lama, Sheep is possible, though you’ll need to take a buggy from another area. The Safari Zoo is located separately but can be arranged by the hotel.
Animals around the hotel can be fed according to scheduled timings. Waterbucks, however, can be fed with carrots 🥕, which were provided by the hotel on the day of check-in.
The lobby and dining areas were a standout—beautifully designed and facing the roaming animals while still maintaining a safe boundary within their designated area.
Animal Welfare
I have always been quite sceptical about zoo animals in Indonesia due to past negative experiences, where animal welfare did not seem well cared for. However, Baobab Safari Resort truly changed my perspective.
The environment is clean, the animals appear well fed, and I frequently saw zookeepers actively present in the animal areas, feeding hay and grass to the zebras, waterbucks, buffaloes, and giraffes. It was reassuring and heartening to see such care and commitment.
This experience made me believe that proper education and responsible management really do help build a better environment for zoo animals.
Overall, it was a meaningful and memorable stay for my family.

UUtente anonimoHotel is quite new and spacious room for good rest. All the basic amenities is provided and aircon work well. Opposite was KFC and some local eatery so quite convenience for anytime need. We most of time using Grab hauling service when go out and come back. Satisfy to the stay. Thank you.

PPolka13This is actually a VERY COOL hotel. As someone who LOVE vintage things, I really appriciate this place. From their historical front building, their vintage styled room, all took me back to the 90s to early 2000. The NOSTALGIA 🥺. When I was little, my grandpa and grandma used to take me travel and stayed at hotels. So hotels like these have a special place in my heart.
Unfortunately, it looked like they really cut down the budget. Although they gave a very cheap price for their room (not more than IDR 250K including breakfast), on WEEKENDS?? But the towels were not white anymore and felt thin (not like other hotel towels), the sheets had tough spots, and no shower cap. But I loveddd the lemongrass soap and shampoo, and they were in dispensers so less plastic waste.
The breakfast was really sad. It was nice when I stayed here around a couple of years ago. But this time it was worse. Not too many options and looked empty. Really felt like they didn't put much effort. Well, what do you expect for that price? And I understand they might be in a very tight budget.
I noticed they added a ”Mini Zoo” signage. A staff warned me that there were not many animals yet. But I decided to go see it. Turned out it was located in the side of the parking road (but outdoor), there were fishes and a big avian animal (like chicken but different, I don't know what it was). And some parakeets in two separate cages, they were all dead 😭😭 I told a staff and they quickly removed the dead birds. Good idea but poor execution.
But anyways, location was top. Just a few meters across the street, there was a bus stop and you can hop on the Suroboyo Bus to go anywhere. And the hotel itself was in a main street of a hot destination (Old Town Surabaya), with historical buildings complex, also with the chinatown nearby.
I really hope they can survive this economy storm. I really love this hotel 🥺.

KKah YokeRoom is spacious and clean. Breakfast variety is good. Getting to the room is confusing at the start (lift at hidden area, need to go up, walk across the bridge and take another lift to go up again), LG and level 3 is the same. 2 restaurants on site where the food is quite good. Not walkable to anywhere, quite convenient using grab each time though.

La posizione geografica è un po' sotto il vulcano. Le strutture sono molto avanzate. L'igiene dell'hotel è buona. Voglio dire, il servizio è molto importante, siamo 17 a 7: La stanza 22, che stavo per stare intorno a 00, perché il mio piede è stato rotto quando ho fatto il sottomarino il giorno precedente. Ho chiesto alla reception di fare il bagno. Voglio occuparmi di me. La signora della reception mi ha aiutato a portare la borsa medica nella stanza. Mi ha aiutato a mettere le ferite. Molto seriamente, attentamente, le sono molto grato, Il giorno dopo, un signore del personale dell'hotel ci ha aiutato a prendere il bagaglio sulla strada e a prenotare l'auto dalla montagna. Grazie. Il servizio dell'hotel è molto buono. Se c'è l'opportunità, penso che resterò in questo hotel un'altra volta. Grazie ancora per il nostro personale qui.La gente qui è davvero gentile e carina.

MMuzaharIt's an amazing hotel with excellent hospitality, almost all staff are helpfull and you can feel safe to stay here. The front desk is very helpfull as well and provide all the informaton needed.
The room is very clean and all functionaliry is working. The feel of stay is like at your home house.
