Maybe this is a hopping place in peak season but in Spring, not so much. Rooms are fine, clean comfortable. Men and women must purchase a rubber swimming cap to wear in the pools (?!). The property is spacious with good parking. Families with kids would do well here with the pools and room to roam. The restaurant and bar were never open. Breakfast is fine but a huge spread for not many guests. We came from the city to the country for peace and quiet. Now the dogs….. We were serenaded from 10pm to 4 AM by loud, dogs just next door, barking incessantly but with brief pauses that made you think they were done barking. We could not sleep. Internet was intermittent and could not seem to be fixed even though the wireless access point was right outside our room. It is a beautiful if impractical spot for tourist business and probably best suited for conferences or Spa customers. Staff was very nice, very helpful and listened attentively but did not fix the problems with the internet and reassured us that dogs are very popular in Portugal and barking day and night was expected.

Moderno, spazioso, molto bel bar e ristorante con vista sulla città e sull'oceano. Situato su una collina sopra la città ma non a passeggiata dalla città, quindi bisogno di noleggio auto o taxi. Molto tranquillo. Bella camera. Cibo al ristorante in loco era buono.Colazione fornita. Solo due notti, ma poteva ottenere lavanderia e consegnate prima di partire in tempo utile.

We stayed at the “Campanile” hotel in Caldas de Rainha for three nights during October. It was a pleasant stay, in a modern hotel with easy access to main roads, a supermarket near-by, free parking and a room with all amenities. As is the custom lately there is only soap no shampoo, so bring some. The location is in a convenient spot for day trips to close destinations, like the Obidos Castle, the Nazere lighthouse, the Fatima shrine or the Buddha Garden of Eden; all these are within an hour drive. There was a misunderstanding between ******* and the hotel regarding the cost of breakfast. We had seen “included” when booking, but the hotel asked for pay; ******* promised to reimburse us for the cost (6 Euro/day/person). We would recommend this hotel for its location, amenities and low cost.

Ho pagato un po' di più per un aggiornamento, ma in nulla ha compensato questa spesa. La stanza che ci è stata assegnata, anche se apparentemente ragionevole, aveva abbastanza polvere sui tavoli da scrivere, non aveva abbastanza elettricità, cioè, abbiamo dovuto spegnere le candele per poter caricare i telefoni e una delle tovaglie era di notare che, di solito in un hotel di 4 stelle, offrono anche un vestito e un camicie durante il soggiorno e non è stato il caso. Inoltre, siamo stati in una stanza che era in un piano equivalente a un terzo piano e non c'erano ascensori in quella ali dell'hotel. Fuori le questioni con la stanza e l'accesso a esso, abbiamo dovuto prenotare un'ora per godere della piscina interna. Non è stato il nostro sorpreso, quando è arrivato il nostro momento di godere, ci sono stati altri sei persone! (La piscina interna non è grande, quindi il fatto che ci siano 8 persone che godono allo stesso tempo ha fatto che nessuno poteva nuotare o essere completamente a suo agio). A questo si aggiungeva che il mobilio della spiaggia vicino alla piscina esterna era sporco, con tessuti di spugna e non aveva nemmeno un cofano per dare qualche conforto. Infine, e la ceretta al cibo di questa esperienza, abbiamo prenotato alla reception al momento del check-in, per cena al ristorante dell'hotel alle 20.30. Ora, quando siamo arrivati, il dipendente ci ha informato che a causa di un fallimento della comunicazione della ricezione, non avevano saputo della nostra prenotazione e quindi erano disponibili solo 2 piatti e non avevano nemmeno i biglietti. Da positivo, solo il personale che è stato sempre simpatico e disponibile, ma con molto poca autonomia per cercare di migliorare la situazione. Infine, un'esperienza molto a chi si aspetta e un hotel che non merita le 4 stelle.

Mi hanno messo in una stanza diversa dal contratto (ho prenotato una stanza superiore con balcone e sono stato messo in una stanza senza balcone, 20 euro più economico). Ho trovato un atteggiamento sbagliato. L'hotel è buono, un buon pranzo.

Last time we were in a different hotel, so thought we’d try this new one, Hotel Praia. In a good location, walking distance to the bus station and a couple of blocks to the beach and the touristy restaurants and shops along the waterfront. Breakfast was included and generally, it was fine. Great Nespresso coffee machine! Eggs were sweet; maybe someone put sugar in them? Sausages and bacon were not to our liking, but we appreciated the pastries, cereal, fresh fruit and yogurts. Staff at front desk were pleasant and helpful, but anytime we needed something, there was only one person working, so always had to wait. Same happened at breakfast in that there was not enough staff for all the people trying to eat. But, everyone was working hard and were very nice. New, light and bright, big rooms. Safe not working, very spare with really no decoration and minimalist white furniture, no hooks in bathroom, no place to hang towels and stuff. Wi Fi works okay, terrible water pressure, how about putting in some hooks and shelving. Also, places to plug in devices were needed. We don’t watch tv in a hotel, but this was the smallest tv we’d ever seen; if it was 15 inches, I’d be surprised! The hotel room was unfortunately not clean when we checked in and never vacuumed during our stay. We walked in the room in white socks and they were filthy, and lots of stuff stuck to them!

Ho soggiornato per una notte in questo hotel durante un tour del Portogallo. L'albergo si trova appena fuori le mura della piccola città di Obidos. La mia camera affacciava proprio sulle mura. L'esterno è particolare, la struttura si organizza in larghezza più che in altezza con diversi padiglioni collegati. La stanza che mi è stata assegnata era molto molto piccola, quasi claustrofobica. C'era un vecchio bollitore in camera e il bagno aveva parte del soffione della doccia pieno di ruggine. La cena di buon livello così come la colazione, poca scelta ma tendenzialmente con cibi buoni. L'elemento davvero interessante è la comodità estrema che permette di raggiungere il centro e il castello in soli due minuti a piedi.

In generale, era un buon soggiorno. La posizione è eccellente proprio sotto la spiaggia. Il personale era molto bello. La stanza era sul lato piccolo ma aveva un balcone con vista sul funiculare. Il letto era piccolo e poteva essere più comodo. Un piccolo frigorifero nella stanza sarebbe un miglioramento. Il bagno moderno era piccolo ma efficiente. Ci era un bagno, ma solo una doccia a mano. Il colazione era buona e serviva sul piano superiore dell'hotel con una vista davvero bella di Nazarena. L'hotel spiega dove parcheggiare in strada. Se non trovi un posto, hanno un garage ma si prega di prepararsi, è un po'di cammino su una collina. L'hotel dispone di un posto davanti dove si può trascinare e scaricare/prendere il bagaglio dopo l'entrata/uscita, in modo che non si debba bloccarlo attraverso le strade.
