Me and my partner stayed here for 7 nights and had an amazing time! The staff were super friendly and helpful! Great that it is also 24 hour at the main reception in case you ever needed some help (not that we used it but definitely a good thing to have). The location was really good! All of our excursions pickup locations were within either a 2 minute walk or the max was around 10 mins. With the location you are also within walking distance of a few landmarks that you can easily tick off within the first day whilst you get your bearings. Another plus is about a 3 minute walk down the road there is a 24/7 shop so when you come back late from the Northern Lights tours you can always pick up some snacks / food if you're hungry. We only had breakfast at the hotel which was amazing! Plenty of choices so you could always have something a little different each day. Only negative I can mention about this hotel was the shower facilities in the room, it was hard to control the power and temperature and the first time I used it soaked the bathroom and then every day was like a challenge to find the right strength and temperature but once you got the hang of it wasn't too bad. If we was to return to Iceland would definitely stay here again! :)

If a hostel and a hotel had a baby then you can be sure it's name would be Cityhub! It's a hostel but with a hotel vibe. I'm going to break the review down based on my opinion Location (5/5 stars) Well it's not called VillageHub right?! So yes it is located downtown close to all the bars and restaurants. To put into perspective, round the corner is where you will find the famous Lebowski bar (which I'm sure you have already penned it down on your list). You're in walking distance of all other tourist spots in the city. Parking (no rating) You can skip this part of you're not planning on driving whilst in Iceland. For those of you that are renting a car, parking was a nightmare in Reykjavik and outside Cityhub you will find a few parking spots if you're lucky. I never understood the parking system in Iceland so I did the lazy and parked in the multi storey car park which is a stone throw away from the place. It cost me roughly between12 - 14£ to leave my car there overnight. Staff (5/5 stars) I had some complications with my booking and had to rebook but this was no fault of CityHub. The staff were super calm and helpful in putting me at ease. During my stay there I had interactions with a few and they were all super amazing! I noticed the lengths they would go to help the guests with queries even not related to the place. They would always engage in conversations and share their experiences with the guests. Lauren helped me check-in and gave me a tour of the facilities. She recommended a few things to do around the city and they didn't disappoint. I feel that the city tax we pay should go to Lauren! Isabella is super chilled and was helpful too with mainly things around Iceland and sorting out my booking issue which btw had nothing to do with her and the property. Julia and iria were the others who were also helpful. Definitely worthy assets to company! Well done team! Property and facilities (5/5) So here's the thing, the property identifies as a hostel but it really isn't. Let me tell you why. Instead of bunk beds, they have bunk pods cleverly designed like two ”L's” in Tetris. Each pod has a comfy mattress and usb charging ports on both sides. You have ample space at the end of the bed to leave two medium sized luggages. You also have two plugs, a table, a shelf and railing with hangers. Towels are also included. The room also had a phone holder on the wall which I personally used to watch the football but don't let me get in the way of how imaginative you could get with this. There's separate communal showers and toilets for male and females. They are always spotless clean and are stocked with ”Rituals” body wash and shampoo. I've stayed in five star hotels and even they don't provide beautiful smelling products like these! The property has 93 rooms and situated on the rooftop is a hot tub that can easily fit five people. Down in the lobby, lies the kitchen and dining area. Its well equipped with a fridge, microwave and a coff

Me and my Fiancé visited Iceland at the start of May for 4 nights (wish we had booked longer but hindsight is a great thing!) And from to finish it was amazing! The Hotel staff were incredibly friendly, as were all of the people we met in Iceland, its true what they say that everybody is so welcoming and friendly in Iceland. At check in we were greeted with a warm welcome by friendly staff, we did early check in which worked out around £40 but so worth it as we had been awake since 3:30am travelling. Our room was on the 6th floor and easy to get to via lift or stairs. It was very modern with a beautiful view, extremely cosy bed, very clean and had good amenities such as a mini fridge, hair dryer, towels & wash cloths etc. The only thing with our room was it was very hot in there despite having the window open but i guess that is because it was high up, so i'd recommend you have cool pyjamas for night time. We had breakfast included and oh my goodness it was outstanding! We are not usually breakfast people but we actually made sure we got up every morning to make sure we did not miss it! The bacon and eggs were delicious and my Fiancé said the croissant's other things he had were amazing! Two coffee machines, fresh water that was always being refilled, a cold juice machine and fresh fruit. And again the staff were friendly and welcoming which is always nice in the morning. We didn't try the restaurant as we were packing in so many activities in the day we just ate out wherever we found. We also didn't try the spa/gym and that was because of time as well. Overall we would definitely stay here again and maybe try a suite next time.

Hilton Reykjavik Nordica

This hotel has a lot going for it, but it's held back by the fit and finish of many of the hotel's spaces. Overall, the hotel just feels dated. The red carpet in all of the halls is faded and stained, the wood floor in the room had a lot of damage, and the spa is way past its prime. On a positive note, the furniture in the room has been updated recently and the pieces were nice plus I found the bed to be very comfortable. Also, breakfast was really good! The service at the hotel was also great. But that spa, ugh. It's a perk of being a gold/diamond member, but the spa is just not in good condition. Most urgently, something needs to be done about the steam room, it smelled awful while we were there and even made other parts of the spa smell. But overall, the spa was just not in good shape with damage everywhere. Also, the location of this hotel isn't great if you're looking to explore Reykjavik but, if like us, you want somewhere with free parking for you to explore the rest of Iceland, then this is a great location for you.

The hotel was perfect for visiting Iceland. Clean, new, with sleek decor. It was actually prefect for the rate and this type of trip. As a Hilton gold member, I had access to the spa amenities and daily breakfast. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and accommodating. The only thing I would note would be the lack of air conditioning controls in the room. I don’t think you can control your ac/ heat as the room only had a thermostat that you can raise up or down but couldn’t select cold or hot. The room did get stuffy at night so we had to open the window for air. Also my room faced the wall. There was absolutely nothing to look at other than a concrete wall. Other than that, our stay was great and the price was very reasonable. I booked a massage the last day of my stay and I enjoyed the spa offerings.
