My daughter and I returned to Guesthouse Sunna the first week of March 2024 for our fourth stay with them. For us, casual tourists, the location is ideal. It is across the street from the Hallgrimskirkja, the tall church that sits at the top of the hill and overlooks all of Reykjavik. There are outstanding restaurants within a couple of blocks. Bus Stop #8 is across the street from the Guesthouse. Inside the rooms are modern, roomy and clean. The rooms are grouped in “quads,” with a WC, shower, and kitchenette for each group of three or four rooms. The beds have always been comfortable. Breakfast is available for an extra charge, and includes bread freshly baked on the premises.

I'm usually not a person who writes reviews , but I truly feel that Freyja Guesthouse deserves a review. Let's start with something that truly impressed me about our experience at Freyja. It a rarity in today's world that you will find more accommodating, helpful, and people willing to go above and beyond for their guests. Let me explain. While many hotels will hold your luggage for you, they waited for and delivered to our room luggage that had been left in Boston so that we could enjoy a worry free Golden Circle tour. That's nothing compared to what truly impressed me about our visit. While on that tour my wife injured herself requiring medical attention the next morning. They helped us figure out where to go, offered a ride there, brought our luggage to the hospital, and then dropped us off at the cruise port so we could make our embarkation. If you're looking for a Bed and Breakfast type of accommodation give them a try they will impress you as they did me. Time for a little about the overall accommodations. The rooms although smaller are comfortable and some have shared bathrooms, it's not a big deal really you get used to it. There's also a shared kitchen on each floor with a coffee machine, refrigerator, and microwave. So if you're looking for great hosts with a unique accommodation please give them a try you won't regret it.

Great location. 10 minutes walk to the church/city centre. Free parking in the neighbourhood. If you book the small room with shared bathroom you realy get a tiny room with hardly any space to open your suitcase. Everything was clean. The kitchen is well equipt and all day free coffe or tea. Magdalena is the best. She keeps the hostel running and is the soul of the house. Tak ferier.

A quiet, pleasant, minimalist B&B. The room was comfortable, the bathroom was really nice. It's located about a ten-minute walk from central Reykjavik, in a quiet neighborhood, so the amenities of the city are just a few blocks away, but without the urban bustle. Breakfast was simple but adequate. If you're looking for help in sightseeing or making bookings, this may not be the place for you, as we never saw staff the whole trip. You're give a code to enter the property, and a room key, and that's it, you're on your own, which was fine for us.

UUtente ospiteI stayed here for four nights ONLY because my positive Covid test, the day before my scheduled flight back to the U.S.A., required that I self-quarantine for five days before I could request a ”Fit to Fly” Certificate to get on my return flight. Needing to quickly find a place to stay for several nights that was not too far from the BSI Terminal, I felt blessed that this place met my needs at a price that significantly less than other lodgings. Unfortunately, the number of negatives were simply too much for me to ignore. Let me be clear: I am not fussy when it comes to sleeping accommodations. When I do wilderness backpacking, a roof over my head & an outhouse are luxuries for me. I knew this place had shared bathrooms but figured (correctly, I need to emphasize) it would not be a problem for me. First, the positives. Good location in a quiet neighborhood at a budget price. Warm, comfortable beds. Very clean rooms, including all common areas. Excellent wifi. Spotless kitchen had more utensils than I expected, with plenty of refrigerator space for your food; thus allowing you to save on meals. A hair dryer was in the room. Negatives. Unless you are walking along the Snorrabraut sidewalk, with a good idea of where this place is -- it's right behind the bus stop, BTW -- you'll never see its sign. With a lack of street signs in the area, I can't say I'm surprised I got lost trying to find the place. There is no elevator; it was not fun to carry my suitcase up a flight of stairs. Check-in was not till 3pm, and there is no place to safely store your luggage. I've gotten used to mid-afternoon check-ins, but having to sit around till then is also not fun. My room was supposedly designed for four people, but I see no way for more than two people to not trip over each other. The paint on the white table was clearly coming off, and any attempt to move it resulted in its legs falling apart. TV had ONLY Apple TV, meaning you must pay extra for anything you wanted to see. I enjoy watching news & free entertainment, but this was literally impossible. The washing machine was broken while I was there. ANY ability to do laundry is a nice feature, and getting it free is a real treat. But not if it's unusable. My room has radiator heat, meaning you have two choices: lots of heat or none at all. I must state that my biggest negative was lack of communication about getting a room key. All I got was an email message stating ”Front door: xxxxxx” and ”Room code: xxxxx”. I've spent a lifetime training people how to use technology, often after I had to teach myself because of bad instructions, so I'm pretty good at figuring out how to get things to work. And I had no problem getting in the front door. But getting my room key took me almost fifteen minutes because there was nothing more about unlocking the box beyond the above words. La stanza e la casa normali, camere molto ampie con bagni in comune, nel nostro piano ce n'erano 2. La pecca sono i servizi inesistenti, nella tariffa era inclusa la colazione ma la ragazza che doveva servircela non si è svegliata ed è arrivata solo dopo che uno degli ospiti ha telefonato al proprietario, noi non abbiamo fatto in tempo a farla visto che avevamo l'aereo di rientro

Recentemente abbiamo trascorso 10 giorni piacevoli a Alba Guesthouse e siamo stati profondamente impressionati dall'esperienza. Ecco un riassunto di ciò che ha reso il nostro soggiorno così memorabile: Grande Valore per il denaro: L'ostello ha offerto un ottimo valore per il prezzo, rendendolo una fantastica scelta per il nostro soggiorno esteso. Fresh Breakfast: Ogni mattina ci sono stati colazione con prodotti sempre freschi. I pancake erano il mio preferito personale! Accomodazioni confortevoli: La nostra camera è stata pulita ogni giorno, e i letti erano eccezionalmente comodi, assicurando un soggiorno tranquillo. Ospedale: La vera evidenza della pensione di Alba era l'ospite. Erano incredibilmente gentili e attenti, affrontando qualsiasi problema immediatamente. Quando il nostro volo è stato ritardato, l'ospite ci ha accolti alle 3:00 senza alcuna confusione. La loro calda ospitalità ci ha resi veramente apprezzati e a casa. In generale, il senso costante di essere accolti ha notevolmente migliorato il nostro soggiorno. Siamo grati per l'esperienza meravigliosa e attendiamo il ritorno alla pensione di Alba nella nostra prossima visita all'Islanda.

This place was great. I loved the self check-in and check-out. It offered a hassle free and quick arrival and departure. We didn't see many employees or other guests as we were out early in the morning and back late in the evening, but the ones we did meet were very kind and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were super clean and warm. We never got cold at night, and while the bathrooms were tiled, the floor was heated. I don't have any complaints about the property, except the fact that the rooms were only cleaned after you checked out. By the end of our five day stay, our bin was overflowing. Overall it's a great place to stay, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking to visit Iceland on a budget.

Beautiful place, we stayed in a small room but comfy. In the guest room there are some Chernobyl posters that are a bit disturbing at first. But still the kitchen has all the facilities we needed and the coffee maker is WOW!!! Reccomended. Only downside until midnight we could hear someone scrolling on TikTok and it was a bit annoying.
