Hotel in zona Hólmar, Reykjavik

Abbiamo soggiornato per due notti all'Hotel City Center, con un interno ecletico, un lobby confortevole e su una delle tavole di lobby c'è un grande vaso di dolce che ha delizioso tè liquore per il consumo. L'ingresso e l'uscita sono stati facili, lisci e i ricevitori sono stati molto amici e parlanti. Baktus, che ha il proprio account Instagram vive lì... solo un altro adorabile residente cat Reykjavik! La nostra stanza era al quinto piano, c'era un piccolo ascensore o potresti prendere le scale. La nostra stanza aveva un letto re grande e confortevole. Il balcone era piccolo e bello e ci erano tende oscure per bloccare il sole al mattino. C'era anche un piccolo frigorifero di tipo funky-cool, come un raffreddatore di vino, un sacco di tovaglioli, sapone, shampoo e un asciugacapelli. Non c'è un armario, ma un rack di vestiti per appendere cappotti o vestiti. Centro, ci sono molti ristoranti intorno, mangiamo al Laundromat Cafe una notte, e vi è anche un piccolo negozio di prodotti alimentari intorno al piccolo parco, alla fine della strada, con sandwich vegan e altri dolci. Inoltre, l'hotel si trova a pochi passi da Bus Stop #1 (City Hall) e Bus Stop #3 (al di fuori del Hard Rock Cafe) che lo rende super semplice catturare autobus o bus di ritorno alla stazione di autobus BSI e all'aeroporto di Keflavik. Kex… Ugh such a frustrating review to write. I really wanted to like the Kex hostel it has its good points, but overall was the worst hostel stay I have had in Iceland. I’ll give you my very detailed opinion. The Bad… -Lacking in the toilet paper department!!! We were on floor 4 there were several private bathrooms with showers and also separate locker room style bathrooms. At 7:30 AM I ran to the bathroom after finishing my business realized there was no TP! Ugh. Anyway afterwards I looked through the different open stalls with toilets. Only 3 toilets on the whole 4th floor had TP! To me having adequate TP is an essential thing. The bathrooms weren’t restocked until 10AM ish. And we aren’t even in peak tourist season. We mentioned the issue to the staff and they said “just call next time you need something” kinda hard to “just call” when you have already done your business in the bathroom and you need something to wipe with! They need to have staff check the bathrooms more frequently. -The kitchen is sad in the “equipment” department. One of the reasons we stay at hostels is to cook our own food. Maybe they are trying to push buying food from their restaurant. I get that they get a lot of traffic. But the cooking pan selection is -Terrible- nasty old pans that the thrift shop would discard. Janky handles, and interior coating mega gouged out. Don’t come here expecting to cook at least on level 4. -No way to make coffee!!! Again they probably want you to pay for their breakfast. But there is no option to make coffee. No coffee pot, machine, or way to make a filter pour over etc. Don’t bring coffee grounds expecting to make your morning brew. There was an electric kettle, but again no way to make coffee unless you brought instant. -The showers need a good bleach and scrub. The walls had black mold growing on them. Considering the fact that Kex was our most expensive hostel in Iceland (we paid 20,906 for a private double, with linens, and shared bathrooms…or $153 US) compare Kex to the Svjarborg in Stykkisholmer $90 US or Halfdan HI Hostel $63 US ( in both we had a private double & shared bath) but both were awesome and had a fully equipped kitchen with decent quality pots, options to make coffee, and plenty of toilet paper. I understand that being in the city we can expect to pay more. BUT I expect that price to include: -enough toilet paper -a means to make coffee -decent cookware. The good… -The location is great. Easy walking distance to the main shops/streets. And the ocean right across the highway. -Awesome “vibe” cool decor, lots of couches/lounge areas. -Entertaining/Social. In the evening there was group song trivia in the main area, and in another a live band. -Our room a private double with shared bathroom was large, and we slept well. (Note: I have never stayed in a “quiet” hostel so I always travel with a sleep soundtrack on my phone and a melatonin) -The staff was all polite In conclusion, I have traveled on 4 contine

This one is somewhat tough to review. Service was 1-star. We received no instructions to enter and had to spend a fair amount of time on the phone (at costly international rates) to receive instructions. The instructions we received were not detailed enough. They did not mention entering through the restaurant to get to the first-floor rooms. Rooms on the second floor do not have to do this. The room itself was okay to decent. The kitchenette was nice, but the dishes were in the dishwasher when we arrived. The room lacked commonplace security features like an interior deadbolt, security chain, or a peephole. Combined with the strange way to enter the ”hotel” this made us feel uneasy. The fact that this hotel is not staffed and entry is through code would have been fine if detailed instructions were provided. Plenty of AirBnBs do this well. For the price, this would be much better value if they had better customer service and detailed instructions along with some additional security features. As it is I wouldn't recommend.

Mi piaceva davvero questo posto, un amico lo raccomandava e non l'ha deluso. era molto pulito e il personale utile e piacevole/sempre sorridendo. Ho scelto una stanza 6-bed e ho fatto molti amici di ragazze in una settimana che rimangono lì! È vicino al centro della città e ha una bella vista sulla chiesa (non tutte le camere che ho preso in considerazione!) . È caldo all'interno e, data la mia lunga permanenza, offrono nuovi asciugamani/letti da letto che ho rifiutato, dato che ero fuori per la maggior parte del giorno. Non sono sicuro di aver amato il fatto che un uomo si prende cura del servizio di turndown perché perché non mi sentivo comodo dormire o a letto nel mio pj o sottovestimento, forse essere che un dormitorio femminile avrei mandato una signora a colpire prima e poi nessuno Altrimenti, ma non è la fine del mondo! Certamente li scriverò qui se avessi visitato Reykjavik di nuovo!

Questa casa degli ospiti si trova in una posizione meravigliosa vicino al volo, vicino alla chiesa, musei e zona commerciale in Reykjavík Island. Il personale è molto amichevole e utile con qualsiasi domanda. Vi daranno visite a Reykjavík. Questa casa ospite ha caffè, tè e internet gratis. Sono dotati di strutture di cucina per poter portare cibo e cucinare per te stesso. Quando torno a Reykjavík Island, restero' a questa casa ospite.

Ho prenotato due camere perché viaggiavano in 5 : camere veramente molto piccole, quasi difficile muoversi . Di positivo sicuramente c’era la pulizia, la cortesia dello staff che ci ha fornito la camera già al mattino , il parcheggio gratuito . Avevo soggiornato molti anni fa euro redavo delle camere più grandi e spaziose anche se eravamo solo in due all’epoca . Diciamo che va bene come appoggio a Reykiavic ma non per lunghi soggiorni .comunque positivo

L'unico motivo per restare qui è per il conveniente pick-up e smettere di fermarsi per le tour e l'aeroporto. La stanza era una 4 letti e era forte. Situato al contrario della cucina e sopra l'ingresso principale significava che era anche molto rumoroso. I bunker sono molto, molto fondamentali. Ci sono punti di carico a ogni letto in questo particolare dormitorio (3) e il giacca fornito è una lancia decorativa. La pulizia lasciava molto da desiderare. In linea di massima doveva chiedere la ricezione di sapone a mano nel bagno, asciugamani di carta e carta da bagno. Il Wi-Fi non esiste e il personale di ricezione è assolutamente ambivalente; sono piacevoli, ma assolutamente non desiderano aiutare. Si ricorda una negabilità plausibile: restate qui solo per la posizione che vi permette di accedere a tutto ciò che l'Islanda deve offrire.

This hotel has a lot going for it, but it's held back by the fit and finish of many of the hotel's spaces. Overall, the hotel just feels dated. The red carpet in all of the halls is faded and stained, the wood floor in the room had a lot of damage, and the spa is way past its prime. On a positive note, the furniture in the room has been updated recently and the pieces were nice plus I found the bed to be very comfortable. Also, breakfast was really good! The service at the hotel was also great. But that spa, ugh. It's a perk of being a gold/diamond member, but the spa is just not in good condition. Most urgently, something needs to be done about the steam room, it smelled awful while we were there and even made other parts of the spa smell. But overall, the spa was just not in good shape with damage everywhere. Also, the location of this hotel isn't great if you're looking to explore Reykjavik but, if like us, you want somewhere with free parking for you to explore the rest of Iceland, then this is a great location for you.

I have now been to three Keahotels, and all have been wonderful Reykjavík Lights is conveniently located, included breakfast and has on premise parking. The staff was very helpful and genuinely pleasant. If I were to nitpick, the towels, could be a little fluffier and the toilet paper a little softer, but you can always go buy toilet paper like I did, and the towels are not a dealbreaker.
