TTravis and ElishaWow! What an amazing place to stay and how lucky we were to find it. By far the best place we stayed in China. Mrs. Li (the owner) was so genuinely nice and caring, and we felt like part of the family staying there. One of my favorite things in Kashgar was hanging out with her and her family in the evenings. She always invited us at night to hangout in the common area where she would make us tea and share her fresh and dried fruits with us. She was really good at using a translator app, so we were able to have a good conversation with her through that.
She has a great little family. Her son speaks good English and was also very nice. She had a young daughter who also speaks English, but is more shy with it (though she will sing you a Taylor Swift song..she has a great voice). They have 3 cats and the youngest one, little tiger, is just the sweetest and the friendliest cat I have ever met.
It was such a good and warm feeling to stay there. We definitely wish we could visit again. A home away from home. And we were treated so generously in more ways than we can write here.
Mrs. Li asked us right away if there was anything she could help us with, without us having to ask, which we really appreciated, and she took the time to sit down with us to go over our plans. She let us store our luggage for 3 days and walked us out to help us get a taxi when we departed.
While it was the family that made it simply amazing, some might also be interested in the following information.
The location is great. On a quiet street. Close to the big mosque which is a good landmark to use to find the area. And of course close to the old city. It's also really close to the biggest supermarket we have found thus far in China (we have to admit it was nice to get a few ”luxuries” from home like cereal and hot chocolate).
The guesthouse is cute and has a Central Asian feel. The shower works great and is hot. We were there in the winter, and the room has heat if you needed it. Mrs. Li was able to arrange a driver for us to go to Tashkorgun and the Karakorum Highway, which was super helpful. The place was nice and clean.
Thank you so much Mrs. Li! You will be a highlight of our visit to China and will be remembered in our hearts forever.

PS: when we get home I'm going to try to write up a bit about our trip on Tripadvisor because I couldn't find anything about Kashgar on trip advisor since covid, and some things have changed, so I thought it might be helpful for fellow travelers, so look for that.

Posizione: Molto conveniente. Short 10 minutes Didi taxi (10rmb) to the ancient city. Or can take bus (2 RMB) 15min. From Airport Didi 15 min (20 RMB).
Camera: La camera è pulita, con WiFi veloce, aria condizionata, luci intelligenti e cortine.Ha tutte le attrezzature di cui hai bisogno: caldaia, grande asciugacapelli e ogni giorno avrà la pulizia di base e si ottiene nuovi bagni e acqua in bottiglia.
Oltre al comfort della stanza, il personale è molto bello, e dal momento in cui arrivate, vi salutano, vi portano nella loro accogliente stanza di ricezione e vi controllano mentre si gode di frutta e/o di snack di noce di Xinjiang. Non tutti i dipendenti parlano inglese, ma qualsiasi app di traduzione farà e tutti sono così disposti ad aiutare. Hanno dato consigli molto preziosi da luoghi per visitare, quindi chieda loro qualsiasi domanda! Il proprietario può parlare inglese e sono sicuro che lo incontrerai, perché è molto a mano e intorno ogni giorno per assicurarsi che tutti i suoi ospiti siano curati e goduto del loro soggiorno. È un bravo ragazzo e credo che sia la vera ragione per cui questo hotel è così buono!
Quando torno a Kashi/Kashgar, senza esitazione, rimarrò certamente in questo hotel. Molto consigliato!!!

Super conveniente: situato proprio di fronte alla città antica. L'hotel era nuovissimo e sembrava fantastico all'interno con nostra sorpresa. Il servizio è stato fantastico! Avevano una navetta che ci portava sulla strada principale, quindi non abbiamo dovuto spostare tutti i bagagli da soli quando siamo partiti. La camera era spaziosa, moderna e pulita. Il bagno era bello: la doccia era spaziosa, chiusa e il pavimento aveva queste cose aderenti che lo rendevano meno scivoloso. La colazione era deliziosa! Per il mio bambino era disponibile il seggiolone. Ci tornerei al 100%.

LLinda C. LeeWe stayed 6 nights and found the hotel very comfortable, clean, spacious. The staff were all helpful & friendly. We got to know the Manager & staff who could speak Cantonese which made it easier for us from HK to communicate. We were guided by the Manager to a nearby good restaurant We were appreciative of the welcome plate of dried & fresh fruits, nuts. The Breakfast selection was suficient with freshly made noodles, plus other hot dishes. Note that it starts from 8am which can be considered late compared to other hotels but because Xinjiang is really 2 hours behind the rest of China but they have to follow Beijing time. The free Laundry room was helpful. I did have an issue with housekeeping as on the first day the room was cleaned, the staff took my own personal toothbrush which I have been using awhile for travelling. Although it was not expensive, it has never bee taken by many of the other hotels I have used it. I informed the Manager but the next day it happened again! This time I was using the hotel's toothbush but still, guests should not have their items taken! Fortunately I locked up valueable items in my suitcase each day. Apart from this issue, we would consider staying here again when we visit again next year.

Posizione strategica all'ingresso del centro storico, circondato da numerosi ristoranti e stand gastronomici. Questa volta sono molto soddisfatto del nostro soggiorno al Mercure Hotel nell'antica città di Kashgar. L'hotel ci ha assegnato una camera familiare. Il fratellino è molto entusiasta e attento a tutte le richieste. Anche la camera dell'hotel è molto confortevole e pulita. Il Le strutture sono relativamente nuove. La toilette intelligente con riscaldamento e altre funzioni è molto comoda. La toilette e il bagno sono molto ben separati e ci sono vestiti da indossare. Dalla stanza si vede tutta la città antica ed è molto vicino alla città antica. C'è anche un servizio di trasferimento da e per l'aeroporto. Ogni giorno vengono consegnati in camera un piatto di frutta e uno yogurt. Anche la colazione è molto ricca. Vi consiglio vivamente di soggiornare qui quando venite a Kashgar. CChina TravellerPerfect location above the lively old town main food street with nicely decorated, spacious rooms and a balcony where it is easy to relax and people watch on the street below. Fast WiFi too, and a powerful aircon unit. Definitely recommended. We liked it so much we returned for a second, longer stay. (Note that being in the pedestrian-only old city you can’t drive directly to the hotel but it’s only 5 minutes walk from the nearest taxi drop-off and about 10 minutes walk from public parking.)

La camera era nuova e tutti i comfort funzionavano perfettamente. C'erano luci a pavimento, quindi non ho dovuto preoccuparmi di alzarmi tardi. La doccia aveva una grande capacità di riscaldamento rapido e non c'era alcun odore di fogna. Tutto l'hotel, i corridoi e la camera erano profumati. Mi sentivo così a mio agio che ho deciso subito di tornarci. La splendida ragazza alla reception (nella foto) è stata molto accogliente e attenta a ogni piccolo dettaglio. La lavatrice e l'asciugatrice erano molto comode. L'hotel dispone di un ampio cortile per il parcheggio, con diverse stazioni di ricarica sia per la ricarica rapida che per quella lenta, il che è stato incredibilmente comodo. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo era eccellente.
