This places is lovely. Understand, though, that some of the super old furniture is worn. I was there for a month and switched back and forth between two rooms. The first room was a standard double. (The room pics I provide are all of this room). It was a lovely room. The bathroom didn’t make sense though. It was the tiniest bathroom I’ve ever been in. The pic shows the sink and the toilet. Across from that, there’s a shower. the room above this one has the same configuration as the one shown, but the sink is outside of the bathroom, which makes the entry/sitting area of the room more pleasant. I chose not Ask to move upstairs because it’s also hotter upstairs than downstairs… and the bathroom configuration wasn’t that big a deal to me. The first room was overlooking Calle 60. It was a bit noisy on some nights. I actually preferred my smaller room to the bigger suite. Something about it just felt nicer. It needed more comfy dining chairs for the little tea table though. The second room I stayed in was a suite with two double beds. (I am not posting pics of that one because there are too many personal items in the pics I have of that room). It was the corner suite facing both Calle 60 and overlooking the park in front of the hotel. IT WAS NOISY. The second room had more light, More room, and a much better bathroom configuration (toilet and shower inside, sink outside the bathroom). It also had a couch and lounging Chair as well as much better (and much older) furniture. By “better” I mean beautifully worked, with more storage space/specialized storage. However, the floor in the second room (the suite) was really badly damaged over by the bathroom. So from the door the room looks pretty much perfect. Over by the bathroom it looks run down. And that’s just how this place is. That’s why I say it’s like staying in someone’s grandma’s house. Beautiful, comfy, clean, but it’s clearly been used. There are rooms that have newer furniture, but understand that this is an old hotel. ITS GORGEOUS but if you expect everything to be new looking, then don’t stay here. I think they are renovating, but I’m not sure. I hope that they keep the furniture and just have if restored as best as possible. They should also restore the broken tiles. IMO restoration of the tiles and professionally filling nicks in wood would do wonders for these rooms. If I were to give this place a review just based on the look of it I would give it a 4. 3 for the condition and 5 for the beauty and ambience. I am giving it a 5 for three reasons: 1. It’s just gorgeous, 2. It felt like was staying in someone’s home… very peaceful… inviting… comfortable and 3. The staff. Come to think about it, they probably are the reason the place felt so comfortable. They seemed efficient and were pleasant, helpful people. There seemed not to be tension between staff members and pretty much everyone seemed to like their work. The hotel is also in

On 3rd party sites, they state coin laundry, as an amenity. My main purpose of booking hotel was because it stated coin laundry, and I wanted to wash my clothing the way I am used to. Before check out the next morning, I went to front desk and inquired about where was laundry room. I was told by clerk that it was not available that day. I advised her that my only purpose of staying at the hotel was because of the coin laundry they advertised. She got on her computer and stated she would find me one. I advised her that I knew about other coin laundry, but I booked hotel to be able to do laundry. She made a few phone calls, asked me how much laundry I had. I told her 3 bags. It was my daughter and my laundry. She continued to talk on phone. She then stated she could have my laundry done and back by 5pm. I advised her that that’s way past check out. She continued on phone. After hanging up, She handed me a ‘laundry form’ and asked me to fill it out and give her clothes within 15 minutes. I decided to just give her ‘a few items’, and returned her the form and clothing. At 12 noon check out time, I advised her I was sitting in lobby. She acknowledged. Around 1 pm, a housekeeper came and gave her a bag, and she advised me my clothes was ready. I took them and said thank you. She then stated that I needed to pay her. After attempting to charge me $90 usd, my card originally declined and manager was called when i complained and explained situation. Called a friend on phone who spoke with manager about situation. I was then told that manager stated he would discount, because of the misunderstanding. Total $80 USD for 25 pieces of clothing. I was advised by friend to pay it. When I gave them my card again, I was charged, I advised them that I would be reporting the situation. They proceeded to write down my credit card number. I asked why? But no response. Manager then proceeded to go outside, and talk on his phone, at the end of the parking lot, for about 15-20 minutes.

Acqua in Bocca

The hotel is new and clean with many convenient amenities. It’s an easy walk to any sites and restaurants (Merida has so many good restaurants!). My husband and I stayed in the junior suite for four nights. The bed was very comfortable. We even had a spacious patio area overlooking the garden. As a light sleeper, I didn’t hear any traffic noise or other guests. The walls were thick enough that we never heard a peep from the guests in the room next to us. The staff was very nice and helpful. Gino, the owner, always had a bright smile on his face and offered us tea/coffee.

Questo era un hotel meraviglioso. Era bellissimo e le camere erano spaziose e confortevoli. Non abbiamo incontrato un unico dipendente, dal personale del desk front to the cleaners, who was not smile and eager to help in any way they could. Elbert & Enrique erano particolarmente amichevoli e utili.
