I have nothing but the highest praise for the Virginian Hotel and its staff. I also want to thank the owner and whoever else was involved for having the vision and courage to restore this beautiful old building and for taking a chance on downtown Lynchburg. Everything about this hotel greatly exceeded my expectations. The room was nice and quiet with a beautiful view. The bed was very comfortable and I loved the shower. The hotel was immaculately clean throughout. I got excellent service and benefits with my Hilton Diamond status. I wholeheartedly recommend the Skyline and William & Henry restaurants. Both are apparently owned by the same person and the food and service were top notch. We had delicious and memorable meals at both restaurants. What really set the Virginian apart from me was the impeccable service I received from every single employee I encountered, both in the hotel and the restaurants. Everyone was unfailingly polite and helpful. I unfortunately didn't write down the names of all of the employees, but I want to especially compliment the father/son bellman team of Jonathan and Colin, bellman Connor, and front desk staff Memory and Daniel. I have to especially mention Colin, who impressively went straight from his bellman shift during the day to help wait on our table at William & Henry at night and then was right back at his bellman post very early the next morning. I encourage you to stay at the Virginian the next time you visit Lynchburg and urge you to eat at both restaurants. I will definitely stay at the Virginian in the future and want to again thank everyone for a perfect weekend.

Sono stato sorpreso per la prima volta nel 2018. Ho fatto di nuovo il viaggio in giugno, ma in generale è ancora buono. Le strutture sono naturalmente vecchie. L'ambiente è piuttosto tranquillo. The rooms were adequate, not great. The service was inconsistent: Some staff were pleasant and helpful, others were irritable and had 0 interest in assisting us. The worst part was the breakfast. Their breakfast was limited to begin with and missing a number of the few items they would normally have. The area was filled with frustrated guests who repeatedly had to ask for basics to be restocked, ie the bread tray to and the hot food to be filled. (This was 40 minutes f before breakfast was supposed to end.) Other food they just didn’t have at all. They did not even have water with breakfast because “the truck didn’t come this morning.” When asked about why there were so many missing items at breakfast, the manager said, “It’s not required.” They had plenty of water at the front, but refused to provide any for the breakfast staff to share (they asked as did I). And while I would normally just have my kids drink tap water, the hotel would not serve it, which made me question the safety of drinking it. I recently shifted from almost exclusively Hilton brands because Fairfield seemed promising. This will be a swift return to Hilton. Thanks for making that decision easy, Fairfield Inn and Suites at Lynchburg.
