"Our stay at Vaperse Hainan Clear Water Bay Hotel was okay overall, but several issues made it less enjoyable than expected. The biggest problem was the amount of smoking everywhere in the hotel. People were smoking indoors, even around children’s facilities, and staff did nothing to address it. When we reported it, it seemed completely normal to them, which was disappointing and not suitable for families.
We also had a photo shoot included in our package, but when we tried to book it, the photographer was unable to accommodate us. This was frustrating, as it was one of the reasons we chose the package.
There are restaurants within the hotel, but none of them are non‑smoking. They are all located on the ground floor where people smoke freely, and the smoking areas are so close to the non‑smoking areas that it makes no sense. It’s very uncomfortable for guests who don’t smoke, especially families with children.
Overall, the stay was acceptable, but the lack of smoke‑free spaces and the poor enforcement of smoking rules made it far from ideal."
