Belmond Monasterio: The Best Hotel in Cusco, Beyond Any Comparison Without exaggeration, Belmond Monasterio is the best hotel in Cusco. Even after trying two other higher-priced Belmond properties and the JW Marriott, I still firmly believe this is the ultimate choice. The beauty of this hotel is beyond words. The elegant public spaces and tranquil gardens create an atmosphere of timeless serenity. The classic, historic walls whisper stories of the past, while the dazzling golden chapel adds a breathtaking sense of grandeur. Every detail is a masterpiece. Yet, what truly sets Belmond Monasterio apart is its service. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring. Their service attitude is impeccable—perhaps the best in South America. A prime example: when I lost my credit card, they found it and returned it promptly. Compared to the Los Cabos Waldorf (which I mention due to its premium pricing), this hotel’s service is on another level—infinitely more personal, thoughtful, and heartfelt. I would love to give special recognition to my butler, though unfortunately, I have forgotten his name. In short, I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Endless love for Belmond Monasterio.

È stata un'esperienza di soggiorno assolutamente FANTASTICA e la consiglio a tutti i viaggiatori che visitano Cusco. La casa è situata in una posizione comoda nel centro storico di Cusco e si possono raggiungere facilmente ristoranti, caffè e le principali attrazioni in pochi minuti a piedi. La stazione ferroviaria di Wanchaq è a massimo 20 minuti a piedi sulla via principale di Cusco, il che la rende molto sicura e comoda a qualsiasi ora del giorno. Prendendo un Uber, si arriva all'aeroporto di Cusco in circa 20-30 minuti, con un costo inferiore a 20 PEN. I cancelli principali vengono chiusi di notte per motivi di sicurezza, ma tutto il personale si assicura che il servizio di reception sia disponibile 24 ore su 24 per chiunque abbia bisogno di entrare o uscire dalla struttura. Le comunicazioni sono gestite comodamente tramite WhatsApp e sono molto semplici. Di notte si può sentire un po' di rumore proveniente dalla strada, inclusa la musica dei negozi vicini, ma sembra essere più frequente nei fine settimana. Hanno anche gentilmente custodito i miei bagagli ingombranti mentre ero in viaggio per Machu Picchu per due giorni (tornando a soggiornare lì in seguito), il che ha reso il mio viaggio molto comodo. Ripeto, consiglierei questa struttura a tutti i viaggiatori che visitano Cusco, soprattutto considerando l'incredibile rapporto qualità-prezzo.

La hall è fantastica, con acqua gratuita e divani. È possibile prenotare tour alla reception. Anche la camera è molto pulita. Sono disponibili anche armadietti personali. C'è anche un'area dedicata al deposito bagagli, così non dovrete preoccuparvi di perderli.

Let me start with the positives, stylish design, exactly like the pics advertised, from entering the hotel to the resting area to the balcony to the room, all very nice. But you need to be ready for the stairs if you not getting here by car, going out and coming back from the square, especially if you have luggage or backpack, everyone arriving here were out of breath. The bathroom has odor coming up from the pipe, which is normal for house this old, if you are okay with it. I was in room 201, sound proof does not exist, can hear car passing, dog barking, guests coming back from partying at night, tourists cheering & leaving hotel for trips at 3:30am, didn’t get much sleep. Most disappointing thing was hot water, I arrived in the afternoon climbing up the stairs, was hoping to have a quick shower before heading out for dinner, stood in the bathroom waited 5mins for hot water, was told be staff hot water was out they are trying to fix, came back after drinks, still no hot water, was very late so didn’t call staff, tried to have a shower before check out at 7am, hot water was still not available after another good 5mins standing in the shower… sigh

I arrived in the hotel found that the bath tub doesn’t have stopper so asked them to provide stopper but was given a day later and there is no hand wash provided. No soap provided on my last day. Also the hotel staff asked me to pay additional $55.00 as they don’t seem to have record of my arrival to Peru and I have come illegally to Peru.. I have to argue about it and finally they found my arrival details. Breakfast is fantastic and cleanliness is good as well.. Apart from minor issues it is good..near to all amenities .

Hotel Santa Maria was the best hotel during my stay in Peru, which included not only Cusco, but also Lima and Aguas Calientes. The bed was comfortable, the Wifi worked well and reliably, and the serice was excellent in several ways. For example, when I requested an airport pickup at 10 pm after flying 28 straight hours, a friendly driver picked me up. Ruby was particularly helpful and very friendly and wanted the best for me as a tourist in her country. She asked follow-up questions about my experience at Machu Picchu after getting back from Machu Picchu Pueblo. It waa great Spanish practice! The men front staff were also gentlemenly willing to help. In addition to the very hospitable demeanor, the tour service also saved my trip. I booked a separate city tour with a different company on Trip.com, but that tour never happened. However, the tour services of Santa Maria gave me exactly what I wanted from their own tour booking service managed by Edith. So, rest assured that service, too, is reliable. Be wary of online city tours done online in Cusco. No need to worry at this hotel, though. I used it also for the Rainbow Mountain excursion. With Hotel Santa Maria, I wouldn't have truly experienced Cusco, Peru! Mil gracias for helping me realize my dream trip to its fullest extent!

К сожалению я не довольна отелем. Первое - здесь нет отопления, ни одной батареи. На третий день пребывания я заболела из-за холода. Почитав отзывы, я поняла что можно попросить обогреватель, что я и сделала. Второе - слышимость действительно сильная. Огромные щели в дверях номера. Слышно абсолютно всё - как люди приходят и уходят, смотрят телевизор , разговаривают и тд. Я часто просыпалась среди ночи, когда люди уезжали на экскурсии и хлопали дверью . Третье - очень скудный завтрак! Буквально две булки на человека, немного масла, сыр и колбаса, джем и на маленьком блюдце подают скрембл , по напиткам чай, кофе и это весь завтрак . Также у меня возникла проблема с завтраками для экскурсий. Я просила приготовить их для меня , но никто этого не сделал. У меня было две экскурсии и получается за два завтрака я просто выбросила деньги на ветер. Четвертое - за 5 дней моего пребывания НИ РАЗУ не было уборки в номере, хотя я читала , что уборка ежедневная. На 4 день я спросила почему в моем номере не убирают и мне сказали, что я должна была отдать ключ от номера и тогда они бы убрались. Но мне конечно же о таких условиях никто не сказал :) Ну и последнее , женщина , которая готовит завтраки , как мне показалось, не взлюбила меня из-за того что я не говорю по испански. При этом я видела что она была милой с другими гостями. Я бы не советовала этот отель!
