Before you head to this hotel, remember to prepare RM 100 in cash for the deposit! Unfortunately, they don't accept cards or e-wallets, which seems outdated for hotels in Malaysia. Most people don't carry cash nowadays, after all! You can stop by at MRT Pasar Seni (One station before MRT Merdeka) there are many ATM machines (MEPS) there.
Anyway, let's get to the hotel review: I'm puzzled by the negative reviews this hotel receives because it's honestly the most comfortable and affordable option I've found. Someone mentioned in a recent review that the hotel is ”hidden” and hard to find. That's simply not true. It's right next to the MRT Merdeka (Exit A), with a large signboard pointing to the entrance. A short 3-minute walk down the road and you're there.
This was my second stay, and I've always wanted to stay here, but the prices were usually expensive. However, this time I managed to book below RM 100 on trip.com (I managed a fantastic deal at RM 75 per night for a Queen size bed!). The rooms are surprisingly spacious—I even spotted a sofa—and there's a generously sized TV.
There's a generous workspace available for your laptop, equipped with numerous international-friendly power outlets to charge all your devices—laptop, phone, camera, you name it! The Wi-Fi zips along at 50mbps, which is impressive. There's also an iron outside next to the common space next to the lift.
They also provide a coffee set, and you can refill your water from outside the room. If you're in need of snacks, there's a mini convenience store conveniently located downstairs (accept touch & go eWallet). Alternatively, take a pleasant stroll down the street to Pasar Seni (8-10 minutes away), where you'll find a plethora of famous food outlets to choose from! 🥰
And don't worry about the food! Go to their restaurant / cafe / bistro. They've lots of menus with generous portions but adorable price! In fact I'd consider cheaper than than the prices at the nearby Pasar Seni. Here, it's clean, fresh and definitely you'd love the cozy & comfortable ambience and music! (for menu you can find BLUEBIRD CAFE on Google map).
For Muslim guests, they offer suhoor for just RM 10 and iftar for only RM 25! It's incredibly affordable, and the menu has a good variety. Oh, and I appreciated the inclusion of a prayer mat (sajadah) in the room—it's the little touches that make a big difference!
Molto buono
