Mio marito e io siamo appena tornati dal tranquillo e tropicale Royal Sonesta Resort. Tecnicamente abbiamo avuto una vista sulla piscina, ma la nostra camera aveva anche un bel look sulla spiaggia di Kalapaki. La nostra stanza era nella Torre Ha’upu e lo consiglierei completamente. La camera era di grande dimensione ( 450 ft.) e la camera da bagno aveva una doccia molto grande, recentemente rimodellata, lavastoviglie e pavimenti con prodotti da bagno bellissimi. Non abbiamo trovato la piscina calda, come hanno detto alcuni, forse il riscaldamento era fissato o l'aria calda era sufficientemente riscaldata, la palestra era in fase di modellazione, quindi l'attrezzatura era trasferita in una delle palestre. La temperatura della stanza era piacevole e tutto sembrava pulito. Il negozio di regali (Lamont’s), era molto grande e aveva una grande selezione di cibo, bevande, lozioni, souvenir, vestiti, ecc. con tutto quello che sembrava essere di alta qualità. Quindi, il cibo: Duke’s era così buono, ci mangiamo là due volte! Abbiamo avuto noci mac e erba crustata, pesci kalbi, pollo teriyaki e pio di Hula per il dolce, tra gli altri. Anche se non mangiamo al Kukui’s, abbiamo fatto il caffè Kauai meraviglioso e hanno permesso riempimenti gratuiti fino a 1000. Bello! Siamo davvero convinti che la Sonesta abbia lo spirito di “Aloha” e abbiamo trovato i dipendenti, sia che fosse per il custode, il desk, la manutenzione, ecc. da essere gentili e utili. E parlando di custode, puliranno la vostra stanza ogni giorno, se richiesto - lo hanno fatto per noi! 😀

Mia moglie e io siamo venuti al Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa per un matrimonio familiare. Prima di tutto, la struttura è bella. Struttura fantastica si trova intorno a ogni turno. Quando entrate in prima linea nel lobby principale, vi è una vista aperta sull'oceano, che è solo un'incantevole. Se state cercando un splendido paesaggio, il Grand Hyatt Kauai non sarà deluso. Il personale qui è incredibile. Abbiamo passato molto tempo alla piscina. I server si muovono e tornano tra gli ospiti a prendere bevande e ordini alimentari. Mi ha sorpreso di quanto queste persone lavoravano duro ed efficiente. Solo spettacolare. Cioè, cosa può essere più facile che stare in una sala da sedie, ordinare e avere cibo e bevande consegnate? Ci sono diverse piscine sulla proprietà. Nella parte superiore più vicina all'hotel è la piscina adulta. Devi essere 14 o più vecchi per usare la piscina. Sotto questa piscina è la piscina principale, che è enorme. Ci sono molti piccoli noci nascosti e un cassetto d'acqua dove si può rubare da solo un po' di tempo con i vostri amici o amici. La laguna/pool di acqua salata si trova più vicino all'oceano. C'è anche un fiume lazy se si vuole solo scorrere pacificamente sull'acqua. L'unica area che è stato deludente è il cibo. È Hawaii, quindi si deve andare a sapere tutto è costoso. Il bar Honu offre un piccolo menù ma buon cibo (mi piaceva il drink della mia specialità, ma mio marito e amico pensavano che fossero molto leggeri sull'alcol e non molto buoni) - i server sono amichevoli e è divertente mangiare li' mentre guardate l'oceano e Forse le balene di spot passano. Ci sono grandi barbecue bbq se si vuole barbecue, che molte persone fanno. Ci sono tre piscine - una piscina rilassante (non per i bambini) che è buona per le bacheche (come si ovviamente gli adulti che si trovano lì e parlano per ore), la grande piscina che è occupata ma abbastanza spazio per nuotare, e una piscina molto leggera sulla spiaggia (che è molto semplice da mettere i piedi in), che ha detto, le aree forniscono spazio per la vostra sedia a salón, ombra, sole, fantastica vista sugli oceani. La spiaggia è un po' piccola, ma si può camminare sulla spiaggia del contea dove si trovano tartarughe marine e sigilli mongi e molti di coloro che godono di buona snorkeling. The location is superb. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shops nearby. The pool area for the hotel rooms is gorgeous; the one for the villas is dismal at best. While we stayed at the villa area of the hotel, I can highly recommend staying on the hotel side. The rooms are large and lovely. The villas are a different story. They are very tight, space wise, but nicely outfitted. I really do not care for the bathroom location in the 1 bedroom units. I will say they did a good job using the space they had to with on the villas, they are just very tight. I don’t think I would be comfortable with anymore than 2 people in a 1 bedroom villa. There is not much of a view from the villa section…only those on the top floor are going to get a peekaboo view of the ocean. The most annoying thing about the villa side is the noice from the patios. You can hear everything on everyone’s patio. It just resonates off the pool on the villa side. Everything else, including the exterior grounds and on site restaurants, are excellent.

I hate to give a poor review, but I want to make people enough information to decide for themselves. Pros: The location was great (about a 5 minute drive from the airport and a 5-10 minute walk to a number of restaurants and an ABC store). The 2 bedroom condo was spacious and had 2 full baths and 2 lanais. The stencils on the walls were charming. Cons: If you are a neat freak you might want to look elsewhere. The tile floors were not very clean. I tried to wipe down the floors in the main living area, but we still ended up cleaning our feet off before putting our shoes on to leave. The bathrooms were reasonable as to cleanliness. Another thing to consider is that our unit didn't have central air. There were 3 window units (1 in each bedroom and another in the living area). They operate on a timer and they are loud so it makes it a little hard to fall asleep.

Mio marito e io siamo appena tornati dal tranquillo e tropicale Royal Sonesta Resort. Tecnicamente abbiamo avuto una vista sulla piscina, ma la nostra camera aveva anche un bel look sulla spiaggia di Kalapaki. La nostra stanza era nella Torre Ha’upu e lo consiglierei completamente. La camera era di grande dimensione ( 450 ft.) e la camera da bagno aveva una doccia molto grande, recentemente rimodellata, lavastoviglie e pavimenti con prodotti da bagno bellissimi. Non abbiamo trovato la piscina calda, come hanno detto alcuni, forse il riscaldamento era fissato o l'aria calda era sufficientemente riscaldata, la palestra era in fase di modellazione, quindi l'attrezzatura era trasferita in una delle palestre. La temperatura della stanza era piacevole e tutto sembrava pulito. Il negozio di regali (Lamont’s), era molto grande e aveva una grande selezione di cibo, bevande, lozioni, souvenir, vestiti, ecc. con tutto quello che sembrava essere di alta qualità. Quindi, il cibo: Duke’s era così buono, ci mangiamo là due volte! Abbiamo avuto noci mac e erba crustata, pesci kalbi, pollo teriyaki e pio di Hula per il dolce, tra gli altri. Anche se non mangiamo al Kukui’s, abbiamo fatto il caffè Kauai meraviglioso e hanno permesso riempimenti gratuiti fino a 1000. Bello! Siamo davvero convinti che la Sonesta abbia lo spirito di “Aloha” e abbiamo trovato i dipendenti, sia che fosse per il custode, il desk, la manutenzione, ecc. da essere gentili e utili. E parlando di custode, puliranno la vostra stanza ogni giorno, se richiesto - lo hanno fatto per noi! 😀

We stayed at Marriott’s Kauai Beach Club, a Marriott Vacation Club property, on our way off the island. We booked an Ocean Front Parlor using hold points and got exactly what we wanted - a clean room with a true ocean view. The card named Carrie as the housekeeper, and she did an amazing job - the room was fully stocked and immaculate. Her hard work & that of other housekeepers earned the 4th star for this rating! We were less than impressed with the other employees we encountered. No one seemed happy to be working there. The bell staff seemed disenchanted, and yes, you have to use bell staff at this location. Front desk staff were not welcoming. In fact, we wanted in line for 20 minutes to check in & were improperly charged occupancy tax for a night that we did not actually occupy the room. We were incorrectly told that we had to check out by 10 am to avoid paying occupancy tax, which we knew to be wrong thanks to being educated in great detail about the occupancy tax law the previous year by the staff at Ko Olina Beach Club. This front desk employee had a real attitude— we chose not to argue with him. His behavior was indicative of the vibe we got from everyone else we encountered there. If not for the outstanding condition of our room, this would be a 2-3 star rating. We don’t plan to return to Marriott’s Kauai Beach Club unless it is the only location available on Kauai when we can travel. There are plenty of other lodging options available in Lihue. They don’t have the excellent beach front location of this resort, though, and the proximity to great restaurants. We might try the Royal Sonesta, though. It’s collocated & actually maintains the pool & grounds. The Royal Sonesta employees we encountered gave off the same type of vibe (disinterested, unhelpful, unwelcoming) as the Marriott Vacation Club staff, though. Just don’t expect a warm welcome at either location.

I almost don’t want to write this so I can keep this secret AMAZING hotel in my back pocket. This was our first time in Hawaii and my criteria was to be on the beach in a laid back location. I work in the design industry, so I appreciated the way that the rooms were both laid out and the updated comfortable furnishings. We were in a unit with a beach view on the ground floor. Every morning we would wake up to watch a stunning sunrise and wander slowly on the beach for a stroll with our coffee. We had our teenage daughter with us who had her own closed off area and bathroom. Having 2 bathrooms and a kitchen was incredible. We ended up cooking more than going out due to how expensive all of restaurants are. There were grills located near the pool area that we utilized and laundry services that looked great but we never partook. Having a pool and hot tub was a nice bonus, but we spent most of our time exploring the beaches so we really only dipped in later in the afternoons. The staff was and will be one of my main reasons for returning. They could not have been more accommodating and lovely. Thank you Makanna for jumpstarting our car! Just to begin my accolades of every single person that worked there that we interacted with. Lei was the first person that we met and her calm nature was just so lovely. Shout out to Lehua for driving us to the botanical gardens when our car broke down and for just being such a sweetheart of a person and a wealth of knowledge. We met several of the staff that I can’t recall their names but when I bumped into them in town, it was like seeing an old friend. Thank you to the staff that continuously provided us with clean towels and renewed our tp and paper towels. We met Juliette one afternoon and she was so sweet. Chawaka, Sierra and Dayna, our stay was perfect because of the care that you took. I cannot wait to return, too bad that we love soo far away. Until next time 🤙❤️🤙❤️🤙❤️
