In a world where many hotel chains use COVID or being green as an excuse to save money, I am happy to report that the Westin Dulles rose above my expectations. Much to my surprise, I did not find a green excuse flyer on my pillow to explain why my room could not be cleaned while I was out. Too many hotels use either ecology or COVID-19 as an excuse to set low expectations for customer service. The Westin Dulles is the first hotel that truly delivered on its commitment to customer service. They cleaned my room to spotless perfection while I was out on business. And when I came back I had clean towels and a freshly made bed to sleep in. Westin elevated their brand by doing what used to be expected. Our bar was lowered by COVID-19. However, Westin still cares enough to overcome the challenges facing the hospitality industry. Well done Westin! Gratefully, Gary

In summary it’s a pleasant, very well-located hotel, and FOH staff work hard to keep customers happy. But poor fit and finish in rooms, chaotic housekeeping, billing issues, and slow customer support aren’t in keeping with the luxury positioning. In depth: Reception staff were superb: friendly, helpful, professional, and a surprise upgrade to a suite was most welcome. The restaurant is also very good and its staff, while occasionally overattentive, do a good job. Location couldn’t be much better for easy walks to a plethora of DC’s sights, museums, restaurants, shops, and transport. The rooms lack a luxury look and feel. They’re spacious and afford impressive views, but blandly and sp****ly furnished in a way that feels very cost conscious. Sound insulation is poor, to the extent that conversations and TVs in neighbouring rooms are clearly audible, as is street noise during peak times. Water pressure is extremely low, so the rain shower is rather more like soft drizzle . As with other Hilton hotels since the pandemic, there’s no minibar, no menus, no guest directory. It all feels rather spartan. Housekeeping is poor. Carpets and soft furnishings seemed grubby. The sofa, in particular, had several stains that looked like they could be removed if anyone cared to try. Clean glasses placed in the room had lip marks on the rim. Our coffee supplies were often not replenished. The second time we mentioned it, on returning to our room, we found two plastic bags stuffed with coffee, sugar, and cream dumped on the table — a distinct “here, stop bothering us” vibe. The breakfast, though very nice, is costly if you’re not getting the Food & Beverage Credit. There’s no end of alternatives nearby. There’s an obligatory 25% tip plus $5 delivery on room service. Laundry costs are such that I found it more cost effective to simply buy some extra clothes. Finally, our Food & Beverage Credit wasn’t applied to our bill. Hilton don’t answer replies to your receipt, so you have to fuss with corporate contact centres, chatbots and web forms. Took nearly a week to get a response, though to their credit they cleared our food bill as a goodwill gesture.

It's great to be able to spend the night at this place, this time I didn't choose the wrong place. The work I was visiting was very close to this place. The service is also very good and friendly.

We had a terrible experience with a nearby hotel after checking in at 3:00 in the morning, so we decided to move out after one night and moved to the Ritz-Carlton. I called to ask if they had a room available on the morning of our student's graduation - clearly upset and distressed as there were four events that day, and we'd had a terrible night - and Nik, the front of house manager, immediately put me at ease. I didn't see how we could possibly check out of the other hotel, get our bags and car, then check into the Ritz-Carlton and still make all the ceremonies and celebrations. To further complicate matters, I was in a wheelchair, which slowed us down and made getting around difficult. But Nik took care of EVERYTHING! Someone was sent to retrieve our bags, someone went for our car, and everything was in our room once all the events were done. There was even a bottle of champagne and some incredibly delicious chocolates waiting to help us celebrate our son's graduation when we got there that night! The room was spacious and well equipped, and the bathroom was a good size (although the shower is on the smaller side - we've encountered this in other Ritz Carlton hotels as well, but it doesn't bother us at all). Everything looks and feels 5-star at this location! Thanks to Nik and his fantastic team, what started out as an unpleasant start to our trip turned out to be an amazing stay, and we are very grateful! I should also mention that ALL the staff we came into contact with at this location couldn't have been nicer. Their front desk personnel, concierge, valet and outdoor staff are incredibly kind and helpful. What sets a Ritz-Carlton apart from every other 5-star hotel is it's staff; I can't say enough good things about everyone we met. The hotel is centrally located, plenty of Ubers are available, and lots of places to eat nearby. Every aspect of our stay was stellar. Won't hesitate to stay there again when we go back. Highly recommend!! *PS - I'm a terrible sleeper and can't sleep if I can hear the drip of a faucet or ticking of a clock, so if you need peace and quiet, request a room overlooking the courtyard - no noise could be heard at all.

La seconda settimana di marzo, in occasione della riunione del comitato esecutivo nazionale AMVET, a Marriott, a Washington, sono arrivato, e ci sono stati accolti con un sorriso caldo al divano frontale. Angela P. era l'ospite perfetto e l'epitomo del servizio clienti. Molto personalizzato e adatti alle nostre esigenze per il nostro soggiorno, andò di sopra e di là per assicurarsi che il nostro soggiorno fosse piacevole. Con Erin e Darnell, il personale del front desk e i funzionari di sicurezza erano eccellenti, ma la leadership e il personale del gruppo di eventi è un'altra storia. Sembrava che un certo individuo cercasse di fare un nome per se stesso e, facendolo, distrusse una grande parte del nostro piacere durante il nostro soggiorno. Dirò che lui e i suoi minions ci hanno fornito una memoria che sarà ricordata per molto tempo; una memoria esattamente opposta al servizio meraviglioso che abbiamo ricevuto al divano front! La mia famiglia e io abbiamo soggiornato recentemente nella Double Tree By Hilton-Washington DC/Crystal City. Ho pagato un premio per la famiglia militare (in appresso) per 2 notti per un totale di $468.79, e mi aspettavo che il premio includesse un colazione complimentare. Quando siamo arrivati all'hotel non abbiamo ricevuto buoni per colazione che erano deludenti perché ho avuto la mia famiglia con me e non potevo accoglierli con questo. Inoltre, stavo cercando di ottenere informazioni sul perché non abbiamo ricevuto i titoli e mi sono dato informazioni ridicole. I rappresentanti del servizio clienti al di fuori del desk non sono stati di alcun aiuto. Una donna mi ha mentito circa il buffet del colazione solo per essere $10.00 una persona ( ho parlato con questa donna 04-14-23 a circa 8pm). Ho parlato con un'altra donna che non poteva nemmeno puntare su me dove dice che il tasso non include il colazione (04-15-23 a 7:30am). Credevo che la donna che mi ha detto che il buffet era $10.00 una persona al giorno prima e mi sono andato avanti e ho portato la mia famiglia al buffet. Quando siamo arrivati al buffet abbiamo scoperto che non era $10.00 una persona, ma piuttosto $28.00 una persona! Per quanto riguarda l'importo che abbiamo pagato per due notti, penso che si includano i buoni per colazione, che mi sembra molto disrepito, soprattutto perché è un tasso di famiglia militare. Questo non è mai stato spiegato a noi o elencato da nessuna parte per questo tasso di non includere colazione, quindi è stato nel nostro inteso che il colazione sarebbe stato incluso. Non riuscivo a trovarlo dove non fosse incluso il colazione e neppure i rappresentanti del servizio clienti potevano mostrarmi dove dicesse. Non sono certo che siamo stati maltrattati, discriminati o che il nostro servizio militare non sia un servizio che è rispettato in questa sede, e, in quanto Washington DC, credo che i servizi militari siano apprezzati.

L'hotel è molto centrale e facile da raggiungere dall'aeroporto per un soggiorno di notte. Ho chiesto una camera con bagno ma deve esserci stato un leggero malinteso, perché ho una camera con doccia ma molto unico - un balcone al foyer. Comfortabile grande stanza!

Dal momento che il valletto prende la vostra auto per controllare e poi cena al sorprendente Blue Duck si sente speciale al Park Hyatt . La vostra attenzione per il punto dettagliato sul grande sonno notturno ti fa sentire a casa.

We stayed overnight and enjoyed this very recently renovated hotel. It's bright, spacious, and welcoming. The modern decor is a bit minimalist but the bed, room appointments, and bath were all first-rate. And the price is reasonable. One minus: the bathroom has a motion-activated light; if you get up during the night to use the bathroom, the light comes on with blinding blindness that is disorienting and can make it difficult to get back to sleep.
