Hotel a 4 stelle popolari a Città del Guatemala

I stayed two nights in this hotel with a small tour group. We’d just spent two nights in a small B&B in Copan Ruinas I enjoyed the contrast between the two. This is a high-rise with gym, refrigerator in the room, diligent housekeeping and reasonably-priced room service. I wasn’t feeling well the first morning and put out the Do Not Disturb sign. In the early afternoon when I was feeling better, they actually called and asked if I wanted housekeeping service! I did so they sent someone up. I got room service the night before-Shrimp taquitos a la diabla. They arrived piping hot and were very good. I didn’t check out the gym. Breakfast buffet was the largest and most varied of any on the trip so far. I felt bad that I’d missed the first day due to not feeling well! Restaurants of every type available in walking distance. Just watch the traffic if you’re on foot!

La mia camera aveva 3 letti matrimoniali con divano e una grande TV. La vista era direttamente nel giardino di Marriott lungo la strada. Tuttavia, era molto confortevole. Il centro commerciale di Oakland e la città di Dollar City sono a circa 15 minuti a piedi dall'hotel.

I've been a loyal customer, staying at this hotel on average twice a year for the past 25 years. Yes, that includes the period prior to the hotel being a Hilton. The last time I stayed I had an issue with the reception desk, but now it was worse. Turns out that I was ”upgraded” to a Jr. Suite, something I didn't want because most of the upgraded rooms face the loud highway. I explained that I preferred a garden facing room regardless of the upgrade, but they couldn't accommodate me because they had no availability of those rooms. So, I accepted the upgrade, but because the room wasn't ready, I left telling the front desk that I would be back later that night. I came back close to 9:00pm to find that indeed my room was facing the highway, but then the surprise...the room had no windows! Oh yes, there was glass where windows were supposed to be, but they were frosted or white. Needless to say, you couldn't see out and it felt like a cave! Well, it was late so I decide to go to sleep and deal with it in the morning. Morning came, I went to the front desk and told them how unhappy I was and that the room was unacceptable and that I wanted to leave given that they couldn't accommodate my request. Well, to my surprise they were going to charge me the penalty for checking out early. I explained that it was not my fault, that they should check with the manager. They then offered a room next to the elevator which I declined. Explaining that it was okay if they had no availability, and that I would just leave. No issue, those things happen and I would be back another time. I went back to the room to gather my bags came back to the front desk to check out and yes, the manager had said NO to my request to not charge the penalty so I had to pay the $25 plus tax. What a stupid move by the hotel, after 25 years, they had lost a client for $25. Amazing! Of course I will never stay at the hotel ever again and will do what I can to tell everyone my story.

I arrived on September 17th 1:12 pm to check in to this hotel. The receptionist guy said check in was not until 3:00pm. I could have sworn I saw something on the hotels.com website that said there was a 2 hour early check in option. Pretty sure I chose it. Not sure how it didn't register. So I decided to check out the restaurant. I sat down and was greeted but a waiter. He said, we have great buffet with bla bla bla bla” I can't remember but he was REALLY trying to sell it. So I took a look at the buffet. It looked alright. There was no price visible anywhere so I didn't know how much it was. I asked the waiter and he told me to wait. He went to some room to get a scratch piece of paper. He wrote the price on the paper. It was kinda vague and his hand writing was strange. I had to ask him 3 times to clarify the price. He finally said “$34 for the lunch buffet”..... I immediately grabbed my bags and walked out. I've been all over the world and can't remember paying anywhere near that much for a lunch buffet. Not even in Europe. Around 3:00pm I was given my room key and room number. Took the elevator to room 802. It was a pretty nice room overall. The refrigerator didn't work though. Later on that night I asked some receptionist guy if I could get my refrigerator replaced. He said he would make a note of it and first thing in the morning it would be replaced. It wasn't. Around noon time the next day I went down the reception and asked a lady if she had any notes about someone needing a refrigerator replaced. Instead of answering my question she asked what my room number was. I again asked her if the receptionist guy from last night passed on the information. She again wouldn't answer and kept asking for my room number. This went on about 3 minutes or so. She then asked my name. I told her. She used this to find my room number. Still no answers about why I still had no replacement refrigerator and if any info was passed on from last night. She said I would get a replacement refrigerator soon. I didn't. Around 4:00pm I heard some cleaning ladies in the hall. I told her my refrigerator didn't work and asked them if I could get one from a near by room. She said, “OK sure”. She even carried it to my room as I grabbed the broke one and placed it in the hall. So in short... The receptionists suck at this hotel. Bathroom: Its pretty nice. The ventilation fan didn't work though. Gym: It's pretty darn good. Only thing missing was a flat bench press. There is a 45lbs bar laying on the floor though. So I am guessing this gym did have one at some point in time. The gym closes at 9:00pm. Which is still better than the Grand Tikal Futura which closes at 7:30pm. WiFi: It was good overall. It has that quirky log in system though. So after a minute of so of no activity on your smart phone it will disconnect. And you have the repeat the process over again. Breakfast: Overall it's pretty good. No buffet. Just

Ho chiamato questo posto per assicurarmi che i miei familiari potessero accedere senza problemi. In qualità di membro di diamanti non ho mai avuto problemi come questo. Ho prenotato la prenotazione e ho aggiunto la persona che sarebbe accedere. Non pensando di dover mettere il numero di persone nella stanza perché ho comprato il tipo di stanza che dovevo ospitare 3 ospiti. La mattina dopo mia madre e i miei fratelli erano in legge a prendere le mie figlie dall'aeroporto, così ho avuto il mio controllo legale, e quando sono arrivati a controllare all'ufficio frontale volevano farci pagare 35 per persona. Ho pagato specificamente 15k punti che ospitavano 4 e erano solo 3 ospiti. Non importa se fossero 2 o 3 sulla prenotazione i punti erano gli stessi. Ma là volevano pagare 35 per persona. Poi, come diamanti, di solito abbiamo qualcosa come colazione. Beh, il desk front ha fatto in modo che mi hanno detto alla mia madre di 76 anni in legge, non è consentito loro colazione. Sono estremamente preoccupato per come sono stati trattati. Non mi importa se abbiamo comprato il colazione il fatto che gli hanno detto immediatamente e non c'è colazione per voi tutti, sembra che fosse permesso di cenare. Non usare questo posto mai più.

Great service, Freddy and jaisel helped us marvelously! Food and service always great. We love to come and know that the menu is always going to be high-end and also the service is phenomenal. We prefer to stay in this hotel, not only for the room rooms but also for the service and the food in the restaurant Hibiscus!

L'hotel stesso è buono, ragionevolmente vicino all'aeroporto; questo è essenziale a causa del traffico terribile durante le ore di fretta in questa città sovraccarica. Ma non mangiare qui. Il loro ristorante sarà probabilmente noto come il peggiore Western Plus presto. Con un menu limitato, pensate che i loro cuochi possano gestire le entrate, ma non è così... sono incompetenti e amanti. Abbiamo cercato di ordinare pizza, ma dopo qualche minuto ci sono stati detto che dovremmo aspettare due ore dopo che il forno era rotto, quindi abbiamo ordinato alcuni ingressi di pasta, e sono stati serviti oggetti inesatti e cibo molto scarsamente preparati. Resta qui se vuoi, ma mangia in uno dei ristoranti della catena vicina, e la catena occidentale migliore sarà vergognata se controlleranno il ristorante di questa proprietà.

I loved my hotel room. The hotel staff were friendly but the restaurant staff were not very friendly. The pool was nice but could be cleaner. Nice neighborhood with lots of food options nearby. Super close to airport. Don't take the hotel shuttle though. I paid for shuttle and they just called me an Uber! I could have saved 20 bucks.
