Gold Coast: hotel con bar

The hotel is in the perfect location close to public transport and a street away from the beach. Having the Surfers Paradise North light rail station right at the gate was convenient especially for my elderly mother I was staying with. The 1 Bedroom apartment we were staying in was very spacious and we had the good fortune of getting 2 balconies (one with beach view and the other part hinterland view). It was also very handy having a kitchen as we could save money by eating in. The only downside of the apartment is not having a bath ( it only had a shower). I only found out the day before that you need to request a bath at booking as not all apartments have one. The beds were super comfy but the pillows were too firm. As a side sleeper not ideal. Overall we had a fabulous stay and will definitely come back.

We spent one night here, and have to say it wasn't a 5 star experience by any streech of the imagination. Our room felt stuffy and the air-conditioning didn't help. The complimentary water was the smallest I've seen. 250 ml. My wife decided to have a bath and couldn't believe there was no bath toiletries, only a solitary round bar of soap. The shower had shampoo and conditioner dispensers in a locked bracket on the wall like the ones you find in an Ibis, or a Premier Inn over in Europe. We had a pre dinner drink in the lobby lounge and when we mentioned the complimentary drink that the receptionist informed us about, the bar tender said it was limited to house wine and tap beer. So much for the pre dinner brandy and soda. Breakfast the next morning was OK but after waiting half an hour for coffee, I approached the service area to be told I should be ordering it from the table. It arrived luke warm after another 10 minutes. The hotel is well positioned but isn't a 5 star hotel.

I was one of the attendees for FurDU 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Gold Coast (11 - 15 May 2023), and I was very pleasantly surprised about my time at the hotel itself. Once I got to the hotel, I went to reception, took a little while to check in, the staff were very friendly and quite helpful. They explained to me some of the key features of the hotel itself, also the fact that I was one of their club members or something, and that I had free internet throughout my stay - which was a bonus - hardly ever used it though. As I walked back to the lift I checked my room number - which had a bit of significance with myself (give you a clue: the angelic number). To get to your floor, just simply tap the card on the scanner, then press the floor, only took a matter of seconds before I reached mine, and not long before I had finally let myself into my room. The room itself was absolutely beautiful, as I placed my bags down I took a quick tour of the room to see what amenities I had. The bathroom was quite spacious, a rather large shower and plenty of towels etc (which came in handy). As I'd spent a long trip getting up to the hotel I was a bit on the sweaty side, so I got a quick change of clothes, had a quick shower (make sure the door clicks all the way in - otherwise you'll end up flooding the bathroom floor which is what I ALMOST did). (There's so much positive stuff to write about the hotel - so I'll keep it short) The bed itself, quite spacious, the pillows themselves were plenty enough, I found that I got a good night's sleep, and in the morning went down had some breakfast - a great selection to choose from, be it from hot food, to pastries, cereal and even fruit and yoghurt. Relish (the restaurant) takes care of breakfast in the morning, plenty of space to sit, have as much as you want to eat for breakfast and get out again. Dinners were absolutely amazing, same spot, the staff were quite friendly, very quick to take my order (had the chicken parmi one night, the burger the next), and a beer or two to drink. The next night I went to the restaurant - I pretty much got the same spot where I sat last time, the wait staff even remembered what kind of beer I had from the night before ... now THAT'S impressive, also one aspect about service that I really enjoyed. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with the Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise, so much so I honestly cannot wait to return next year to experience it all over again .. In all honesty there's nothing at all I can fault the hotel for .. a full 5 * review from all aspects of the hotel, the staff, the food and beverage and everything they've got to offer. So, if you're looking for a place to stay, be it for a short trip away, or a longer vacation, depends on what you're doing, be it visiting the theme parks or the local attractions, I would, without hesitation, highly recommend your stay at the Crowne Plaza Surfer's Paradise, try and get a room with a high floor facing the beach as the views

Booked a standard room with two double beds as a room for our family of 3 (2 adults and a teen), to sleep at after an event on the Gold Coast. Whilst not their issue our navigation app couldn't locate the property and when I called, I was told to use google maps. Reception was polite and on check in provided a physical room key and an electronic tag, and directions for parking. Our room was 1010, which is on the ground floor. A corridor left of the main foyer winds around, going outside and having a more motel vibe, outdoor corridors were tiled and wet and slippery. Struggled to open the door to our room with the key, unpacked and left for our function The room was very basic as expected, with shower, bath, toilet, kitchenette and tv. A sliding door to access a shared grass courtyard by the pool. We did not use any of the room or hotel facilities, beyond the bed and bathroom. After attending our event, we retuned around 9.30pm, and could not open the room door. Bar staff directed us to Mae, she was considerate, she and my husband could not get the lock to open. We ended up accessing the room via the sliding door at the rear, the screen door was unlocked (which was on us, as we opened the glass door to air the room out - it smelled stale - and assumed the screen was locked), Mae was apologetic i am thankful we returned early enough that staff were still on-site. Beds were ok, corridor was noisy especially luggage carts being wheeler through. Was fit for purpose, but the lock/security was concerning. It appeared the lock had been replaced by a handyman vs a locksmith. I wouldn't return

A beautiful stay indeed, right down to the daily activities for the children. Always something to keep the children busy. We felt very at home. Everyday the kids were always making new friends. Special shout out to the activities Host Mya! Always happy to help, She really does the most. The days we stayed there Mya had really went above and beyond to keep the children & Adults entertained. Beautiful customer service. We look forward to booking with you guys again. Only downfall is the beds, maybe add a topper. You can really feel the age of the mattress. Spectacular views with large patios. Central location close to shops & restaurants. Clean and tidy with large rooms & living space. Grounds were incredible with beautiful bbq and pool area. Indoor pool and spa warm and clean. Staff & residents were friendly & very helpful. After hours check in was easiest I’ve ever encounter. Loved our stay and will be a regular.
