Hotel in zona Seilbahn funchal, Funchal

Albergo a pochi passi dal centro di Funchal (circa 10 minuti a piedi). La vista della sala ristorante vale il soggiorno, è fantastico fare colazione/pranzo vista piscina e oceano. La colazione è internazionale, ricca e abbondante. Piscina sul tetto solo per over 16, mentre l'altra è a disposizione di tutti, area spa molto grande. Abbiamo cenato solo l'ultima sera in albergo e devo dire che la cena a buffet non ci ha colpito particolarmente; non so se su questo ha influito il fatto che quella sera il ristorante principale fosse riservato per un matrimonio. Se proprio devo trovare una pecca, è su piccoli aspetti relativi alla camera, ma davvero poca roba, come ad esempio: solo una presa vicino al letto, la tenda nella vasca e il frigobar vuoto, oltre all'area giochi bimbi trascurata: da un 5 stelle sono piccoli dettagli che non mi aspetto. Per il parcheggio meglio usare quello del ******, costa meno della metà, 6,40 contro i 15 euro per tutto il gg.

Confesso che dovendo stare una notte non ci siamo preoccupati particolarmente ma la sorpresa di trovarci in una villa veramente portoghese con un arredamento splendido ed un giardino favoloso nonché piscina ci ha lasciato di stucco. Personale gentilissimo, posizione centralissima, vista magnifica. Abbiamo cenato in una splendida cornice con cibo molto ben cucinato Consigliatissimo se si vuol conoscere un po’ di Portogallo dove gli irish pubs la fanno da padrone!

Hotel in una posizione davvero pazzesca, peccato le tante carenze organizzative e non solo. Nell’insieme la camera e anche tutti gli spazi comuni, compreso le zone delle due piscine, sporchi e puliti malamente. Colazione davvero scadente, arredi vecchi, asciugamani usurati. Inutile continuare ad elencare, sono sufficienti queste indicazioni. Rimodernato e adeguato agli standard attuali avrebbe pochi concorrenti in zona.

Molto bello questo hotel situato nella zona degli hotel appena fuori Funchal. Ampi e curatissimi gli spazi comuni, piscina coperta e scoperta tenute benissimo. Palestra e spa. Ampio solarium con tanti lettini. Ottima la colazione con scelta infinita, pulizia veloce e cortesia. Unico appunto: la standard vista mare che potete prenotare nei diversi siti, in realtà è una vista mare laterale perché quelle frontali sono solo le suite. Noi eravamo al 9 piano: ascensori , è vero , troppo piccoli x il numero di ospiti, elevatissimo, ma ottimamente gestito. Bonus per il bidet in stanza, ma dovete chiedere accappatoi e ciabattine alla reception. Non c è l’acqua di cortesia.

Questo hotel potrebbe essere stato un 4 stelle negli anni '60 o '70, ma non è sicuramente uno adesso! Il ”spa” non è utile! Il balcone nella stanza era grande con una vista meravigliosa ma era pieno e ha bisogno di una lavaggio di pressione seria! I mobili sono adeguati ma molto bassi e vecchi! La stanza stessa è stata mantenuta pulita ma sicuramente mostra la sua età e ci sono stati numerosi tinture d'acqua sui tetti e sulle pareti con alcune zone molde. In generale l'hotel è stanco e indossato! La qualità del colazione è imbarazzantemente cattiva in ogni modo immaginabile! Il servizio e il cibo nella sala da pranzo della sera erano buoni. Gli anziani dell'hotel sono molto pochi e sembrano fare il meglio che possono nelle circostanze. La posizione è interessante e vale la pena di visitare, ma consiglierei solo un viaggio di giorno evitando questo triste istituto.

Partendo presto abbiamo optato per una notte in questo bel hotel nei pressi dell aeroporto. Immerso nella natura e nella tranquillità. Camera tripla molto pulita e grande a sufficienza. Comodo parcheggio. Non potendo usufruire della colazione ci è stata data la possibilità di prendere un lunch per la giornata. L'accoglienza e la disponibilità sono state ottime, così come il prezzo del nostro soggiorno.

Painted different colours on the outside, this is one long hotel on the inside. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony which was fabulous. Very large room, handy fridge. Huge TV. It’s very relaxing to sit and watch the world go by here. We never even made it to the official roof terrace or other hotel amenities. We did pop out for an easy stroll to see the old bridge. (I wished I’d dressed for the possibility that water might drip while walking through the tunnel to get there). Then more lounging on the balcony, watching the sunset. They had the largest selection of breakfast choices that we saw in Madeira. I especially liked the made-to-order fluffy pancakes, which I had with baked apple from the buffet and squirty Nutella. Mmmm! The cook was also made omelettes on request. Coffee is from an automatic machine but it grinds the beans for each cup. As self service machines go, it was the fanciest we saw on our trip. We noticed many people eating in the touristy joints overlooking the sea. Why pay “saw you coming” prices for questionable quality when you could just stay at this hotel and enjoy the view from the balcony without hassle? We had the best dinner of our stay in the town, at Sol Doce. The underground parking is a sharp angle to get into. The receptionist recommended turning around at the end of the road, and approaching from that direction. I think this is good advice, based on what we saw from the balcony. Cars come around the corner very quickly. Lots of cars turn around in front of the tunnel.

I cannot say enough about what a wonderful time my husband and I had staying here. The staff at the hotel was warm and welcoming and could not do enough to make our stay exceptional. The room we had allowed us both a sea and garden view and I recommend that you book one of those. The view of the sea is breathtaking. We also took advantage of a couple of the classes they offered and made our own bread which we took to our dinner later. Dinner at the restaurant was really good. We ate the a la carte options and enjoyed all three dinners we had there. The service of Shafayet was exceptional and he deserves a mention here. The pizza from the pizza place was also a great choice for a more relaxed bite. Overall this hotel was a beautiful relaxed place to spend a few days.
