Hotel in zona Caledonian Hall, Edimburgo

Ingresso gratuito. La stanza è molto semplice e di base e avrà quello che avete bisogno per il vostro soggiorno (meno i gel di doccia e lo shampoo e la spazzatura). Perfetto se rimani nella vostra stanza solo per dormire dopo un lungo giorno di affaticamento di tour. La posizione è perfetta e molto conveniente. Vicino a fermate tram e autobus. Camminando alla maggior parte delle attrazioni della città. Ci sono stati un grande soggiorno e una vista ancora più bella del castello di Edimburgo ogni notte dalla stanza dell'hotel. Abbiamo due bagagli di dimensioni medie e si è trasferito un po' intorno alla stanza, ma in generale, si consiglia e resta in hotel.

Hotel MERAVIGLIOSO, fortunati ad avere la stanza vista castello, centralissimo ed un personale di una gentilezza smisurata ! Io e la mia compagna avevamo qualche timore visto l’inglese, ma fortunatamente abbiamo incontrato anche tanti italiani all’interno della struttura. Davvero piacevolmente sorpresi dall’hotel e da quello che ha da offrire specialmente in questo momento particolare di ristrettezze e complicazioni. Purtroppo non ricordiamo il nome di tutti i dipendenti ma facciamo un grande saluto ad Elena, Marco e Damian che hanno intrattenuto le nostre splendide colazioni. Torneremo presto !

L'hotel effettua il check-in solo alle 16:00. solo alle 16:00... molti ospiti arrivano di giorno e aspettano a lungo per il check-in..... lunga lunga coda. Il personale mi ha dato una stanza sbagliata senza finestre, molto stretta, alla quale ho prenotato una camera singola standard con letto matrimoniale. la stanza senza finestre, senza wifi, senza rete... e sembra che non riesca a respirare nella stanza... e devo tornare di nuovo nella lobby..... la scheda della porta non è così buona... Devo andare alla reception per attivare la carta tutti i giorni... sì. .. ogni giorno... ad un certo punto, ho scoperto che quando ho provato ad aprire la porta della mia stanza... ma non ci sono riuscito... e devo tornare di nuovo nella hall.... è abbastanza fastidioso. La posizione è OK. con autobus per l'aeroporto e la stazione dei tram e degli autobus nelle vicinanze. La colazione è buona, con molta scelta. Il cibo è lo stesso ogni giorno.

We stayed for 2 nights at Pillars House. Edna and Craig were very responsive to emails ahead of our stay and even though there wasn't a hot breakfast, I appreciated the well stocked fridge and pantry complete with Irn Bru. The room had every necessity, including a hair dryer. We had a room on the second floor in the back, which was very quiet overall. There is no elevator, so if you need that, you may want to inquire about a ground floor room. The location is great- very convenient to the tram line which will take you toward Ocean Terminal (to see the Royal Yacht Britannia) or down to the city center with convenient stops at Princes Street and St Andrew Square. It's maybe 60 minutes from the airport via the tram (use the Foot of the Walk stop). Coming from the US with an early arrival (meaning middle of the night for us!), I appreciated the 10AM check in time. It can be quite a drag (sometimes literally) when you can't check in until the afternoon after a long overnight flight. Thank you Edna and Craig!

Rimasto a Park View per due notti di recente, è stato un bel soggiorno. È importante ricordare le recensioni più vecchie erano quando l'hotel era sotto una diversa gestione e le cose prendono tempo per cambiare. È importante gestire le vostre aspettative, l'hotel non è occupato, le istruzioni per le chiavi ect sono inviate e molto facile da seguire . Pensatevi più come un alloggio auto-contenuto dove, se necessario, avete contatti di emergenza da chiamare. Il nostro soggiorno era in una bella stanza, molto pulita e calda, con un sacco di asciugamani puliti e un caffè/tea extra per riempimenti.

Stayed here for 3 nights over the June bank holiday weekend. The room was around £310 for 3 nights, which was much cheaper than other hotels based on it's proximity to the city center. The hotel is located about 1 mile from the Royal Mile and there's plenty of busses that stop right outside the hotel heading into Town. The hotel itself was ok. We were given a room on the first floor near the back, which was pretty spacious and comfortable, but it was quite tired looking with a few little issues (only mirror was in the bathroom, there was a stain on one of the chairs, the toilet roll holder was loose, shower didn't get very hot) The room was clean, and a maid did knock everyday to see if we wanted cleaning or extra towels etc. Check in/out was all self service. I was given instructions on how to check in the day before I arrived and this was easy to follow. There are cupboards in the hallway with things like extra tea and coffee, towels, loo roll etc that you can help yourself to. There is an intercom on the entrance door if you need to contact staff (we didn't need to use this during out stay) The hotel advertises 'parking on site' however there is only about 3 spaces. There is free parking on the surrounding roads though. I found the hotel to be quite noisy. Could hear people talking and walking about in the rooms on our floor and above us. The hotel is located on a busy A road, so I think the it could be quite noisy if staying at the front of the house. There's also no breakfast on site, so we walked to a pub down the road that opened for breakfast. Overall the hotel was ok for a couple nights, but if I was in Edinburgh for a longer period of time, I would stay somewhere else.

Abbiamo avuto un soggiorno assolutamente meraviglioso in questo bellissimo hotel. siamo arrivati molto prima della ricezione alle 3:00 a causa di un volo precoce, e ci siamo chiesti se potremmo entrare nella nostra stanza prima. Non aspettavo che fosse fatto così velocemente! Sono salta in azione mentre noi esploriamo le straordinarie aree e abbiamo fatto un bel colazione, e entro l'ora siamo stati nella nostra stanza. La casa aveva creato un bellissimo display swan con le tovaglie e le petali rosa, con una carta di compleanno scritta a mano per il mio ragazzo mentre eravamo li per celebrare il suo trent'anniversario. Il personale non poteva fare abbastanza per noi, soprattutto la signora molto gentile della ricezione che era brillante e il viaggio si sentiva così facile e confortevole. Grazie tante per un fine settimana meraviglioso e memorabile, non posso davvero raccomandare questo hotel abbastanza. Valete ogni penny e solo un breve uber (20-25 min) alla città, allo zoo, e la maggior parte delle attrazioni principali. Ci ritroveremo!

The overall experience was alright but not highly satisfied. I chose the hotel because we hope to stay in the Mansion with long history and heritage that hopefully make our family journey more enjoyable. Before we go, I searched for the comment on websites and found some travellers give bad comments e.g. small bathroom with mold, dusty table and floor mat, etc. Thanks for providing these honest comment so I reduce my own expectation a little bit. When we enter the hotel room, warm welcome received from hotel staff. We arrived at 15pm and thought we can have some teatime in the hotel but sadly we were told teatime must be book 24hrs in advance. They can serve us scones and tea instead. Then we went to our the double bed room 14sq.m one and it does look small, especially the toilet is small like a hostel or affordable stay instead of a hotel room charging gbp170 a night which we have expected it should be more than that. The sink was so small, have to wash hands really carefully otherwise water will be spitted everywhere. The tea corner, the alarm, the window were dusty, The cup and spoon were not clean properly. Despite all these, The bed was fine and comfy. The hotel building itself is historical and beautiful, with multiple dining rooms serving lunch, tea, dinner. Bar service serving drinks, large library, board games available for kids, very spacious greenfield and beautiful rose garden. Morning breakfast 8-10am is a self-service one and the food were hot and fresh. In overall, the beautiful nature surrounded and the historical building itself make the whole experience happy, but the hotel service and hygiene level do recommend for improvement.

Il mio compagno e io siamo arrivati tardi dopo un volo all'aeroporto di Edimburgo e sono stati salutati da un personale molto amichevole durante la notte di trasloco. L'intero hotel sembrava frescamente decorato con nuovi accessori e accessori, tutti sembravano di alta qualità. La nostra camera (camera 4) era meravigliosomente designata, il letto era molto comodo e la doccia era fantastica. Il colazione era fresca cucinato e servito molto rapidamente. Per ciò che abbiamo pagato questo hotel vale un 10/10 ogni giorno!!
