UUtente ospiteWe stayed at the Riccarton Inn for three nights in July as we were attending a wedding at the nearby Free Company. After originally booking a city centre hotel we decided to look at something a little closer and found The Riccarton which looked to be nearby, with nice rooms and at a good price. Before booking we contacted the venue via FaceBook to see if there were any room suggestions and we were told that rooms 1, 2 & 5 are double rooms but they suggested room 1 as the best pick out of the three if it was available…… it was, so we booked it. Getting to the venue was relatively easy, it was a 15 ish minute walk from Currie Hill train station although the majority was uphill so probably not the best route to take if you have reduced mobility. There is a bus stop just over the road from the venue and if you catch the 44 from the city centre it drops you right there (the bus stop right outside the venue, i.e. on the same side of the road, takes you back into the centre on the 44 bus. Buses are easy with TapTapCap so you can use your debit / credit card or device (always use the same card or device to make sure the cap applies). A single journey is £1.80 and it caps at £4.40 for a full days travel. We said that the next time we stay at the venue we’d definitely finish our journey on the bus instead of the train. Oh, the venue is also on the N44 route which is the night bus service, ideal if you go out for a few drinks and it saves on taxis. There are a few different local taxi services as well as Uber, the couple of times we used a taxi we did use Uber in the end as they were actually cheaper and we found them a little more reliable. Check in was really simple, we didn’t prepay but the cost of the room was charged to the card we booked with on the morning before we arrived. All we needed to do was pop a signature onto the booking confirmation at the bar and we were handed our keys, one for the main door to the venue (it gets locked at midnight so you can let yourself in) and one to the room. We didn’t pre-request breakfast but we decided to add it on for two of the mornings and paid for it at the bar…….. I would highly recommend the breakfast, at £8.95 per person it is most definitely worth it (more on that later). The room itself (room 1) was a decent size, it had a very comfortable bed, a built-in closet and plenty of drawer space. The en-suite bathroom had a good size bath with over bath power shower, toilet and wash basin… again all spotlessly clean. The towels were really fluffy and properly dried you instead of just moving the water around which is always a good plus. At night the room did get a little warm but as long as you don’t mind your window open and you leave the bathroom door and window open you do cool down a little. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the room and a hairdryer is also provided. The WiFi code is provided on a welcome card which we found in one of the drawers in the desk. UUtente ospiteAvete avuto un ottimo soggiorno qui! Ci sono stati 10 di noi che hanno prenotato un dormitorio. Era tranquillo, pulito e buona qualità. Ci sono due bagni e due toletta per dormitorio che pensavo fosse molto buona. La nostra camera non era pronta per un'altra mezz'ora, quindi ci hanno dato dei sigilli gratis per il bar! La ragione per cui questo non ottiene 5 stelle è perché era terribile nella stanza - anche con la finestra aperta! Non sembrava essere con l'aria con - ci chiedevamo anche se l'ostello aveva messo il riscaldamento? Il bar dell'hotel aveva cibo decente ma aspettava molto.

UUtente ospiteLa stanza è molto comoda, le strutture sono molto complete, gli ospiti sono molto tranquilli.Può essere bagnato con acqua calda, camera comune con microonde, asciugacapelli, vasca a acqua calda, fornisce ventilatore nella stanza, bagno è molto pulito, tutto è molto bene.Btw, l'appartamento è anche molto buono per trovare.

UUtente ospiteThis is a good place for backpackers. We stayed here for a couple of nights in a 12 bed dormitory. The beds were good with ample space to keep our stuffs. Toilers were clean. The receptionists were friendly and approachable. The check-in time is 2 PM, so if you arrive early, you'll need to wait in the locker room and help yourself to some coffee. Or else you can keep your bags in a locker and roam around the city till you are ready to check-in. Early check-in is also available, but subject to availability of beds/rooms. Overall, quite good.

Hanno incontri quotidiani e eventi in modo che incontrare nuove persone è super facile e divertente. Il personale è così amichevole e utile, essi forniscono anche alcune consigli fantastiche pub.

BBeccaaaaaLFrom the airport I took the Airlink 100 and drop off at Shandwick Place, then took a short walk for about 0.6 miles to reach the hostel at West Port. You could get a view of the Edinburgh castle right across the hostel. There are cafes, diners and bars just across the road. Victoria street is 5 mins walk away. Everything else is just nearby. I was abit skeptical to book the mixed dorm at first but it was relatively safe in overall. Specifically requested for a lower bunk bed due to my leg injury & I was assigned exactly the way I wanted. The room is spacious however it has a funny smell though, probably because it was occupied with 12 people. I was given the room on level 1, near to the kitchen & chill-out room. Mixed bathroom was kinda clean but the yellow shower cubicle's shower was broken. I had to keep pressing the button for the water to run. Everything was great nonetheless. Staffs were friendly. Locker room service was out of my expectation to be frank. I'd recommend friends to stay however preferably ask them to book a private room for personal best interest, and to get good sleep without the ”symphony of snoring”.

UUtente anonimoI didn’t love my stay here, even though everything was clean and the staff were lovely. I stayed in a 12 bed mixed dorm, with a very very slow to close squeaky door. With the usual people coming and going throughout the night, this made for a few really terrible nights of sleep. I mentioned it to reception who seemed like it was out of their hands to fix- pack earplugs for your stay here! Otherwise no issues at all, and very well located.

UUtente ospiteThis hostel provided just what we needed for a one night stay in the city before an early morning journey to the airport. Three of us travelling together stayed in the triple room with shared bathroom. Our room was well furnished with a double bed and set of bunk beds, sink/wash area, full length mirror, table and tv. The beds were comfortable and everywhere was clean, plus you could adjust the heat on the radiators yourself in your room. The shared bathrooms on our floor were all individually private, with both a toilet and shower inside - plenty of room to get changed in and hot water available! We arrived fairly late in the evening and departed before 6am so we didn't use the other facilities such as the kitchen or lounge area, but from what we could see the kitchen had good amenities and the lounge looked comfortable. The reception closed at 7pm so we didn't have any face to face interaction with staff but received a detailed email on how to check in/access our room. I think the hostel overall is in need of some TLC and updates/new furniture (there's a lot of wear and tear in areas) but I would happily stay here again, the location was decent and the atmosphere good - we weren't disturbed by anyone.

UUtente ospiteÈ una vergogna che il nostro soggiorno qui dovesse essere rovinato da personale inamichevole, non professionista e sinceramente semplice. La posizione e le strutture dell'ostello Belford sono grandi, ma il modo in cui sono stato trattato come un cliente pagante è abominabile. Vorrei sapere se il proprietario è consapevole che la loro attività è stata svolta in terra da un gruppo di clown, che si bevono ogni notte nella stanza comune e gridano come i toddler, tenendo al sicuro i clienti a tutte le ore della notte. Quando entrate nell'area comune, vi salutate con gli occhi della maggioranza del personale. There is never a staff member at reception, the ‘back in 5 minutes sign’ is their constant excuse, and if you can summon the courage to ring the clock, you’re eventually approached by a staff member who looks like they would rather you just leave Non mi sono mai sentito come un carico quando ho cercato di pagare per estendere il mio soggiorno. Il modo in cui il manager, Tas agisce è come se volesse correre il posto rotto. Dopo anni di esperienza nel settore dei servizi alla clientela, anche negli hotel, sono imbarazzato per questa società e mi sento orribile per il proprietario.
