Clermont-Ferrand: hotel con bar

Abbiamo prenotato un soggiorno all'hotel nel corso della nostra lunga gita da Calais a sud della Francia. Volevamo solo stare da qualche parte e andare in partenza presto al mattino ( €69 per una venerdì sera) ma sono stati piacevolmente sorpresi. Poiché non erano occupati, ci fu offerta una scelta di camere e bagno o doccia. Parcheggio sicuro nel seminterrato era €9.90 che ci piaceva come aveva una macchina piena di cose. Veramente accogliente presso la reception e molto utile. La stanza era piacevole, una massa di acqua calda, tè e caffè, un letto confortevole, WiFi gratuita, tutto ciò che ci serviva per un soggiorno rapido. Molto meglio di un'altra catena più costosa che ci siamo fermati a nord la notte precedente.

Questo hotel dispone di parcheggio Secure con una porta elettrica chiusa. Perfetto per i viaggiatori con una macchina completa, bicicletta e scatola di tetto. Un grande fermo sul nostro viaggio in Spagna. Hotel molto amichevole per cani con giardini, L'hotel era pulito. ideale per un punto di fermata su un lungo viaggio. Short taxi in città locale per favoloso cibo francese - un deve vedere!

As very regular users of Accor hotels we found this hotel to be up to the high standard that you would expect from the Accor group. Clean, well organised and totally satisfactory. However, unusually, the restaurant attached to this hotel is totally unacceptably poor. Admittedly it is not expensive but my “pièce de boeuf” was totally inedible and with so much sinew that even a steak knife couldn't cut it and my wife's piece of duck was equally horrible. The waiter kindly agreed to change the duck for salmon tartare, which, disappointingly, proved to be totally tasteless. An Ibis Styles Hotel should have a restaurant of a far higher standard attached to it. We will not be returning as being on the edge of the town it seems unlikely that there will be a better independent restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. A great disappointment.

Il bagno in camera dispone di doccia, set di cortesia gratuiti e asciugacapelli. I comfort includono telefoni, casseforti e quotidiani gratuiti.

The reception team is fab, gave excellent parking instructions. On arrival, check-in was quick, with a very friendly feel. The hotel is new and modern, and situated right in the centre, walking distance to everything. Our room was clean, modern, and up to a typical Mecure standard. I say this, as our next stop was at a Mecure in Tours, was very disappointing.

Stayed one night. Located on the main square: while this location is very convenient and within walking distance of several sights, shops and restaurants, it is also noisy (no soundproofing). At the entrance there are a few steps down to reach the lobby, and then again a few steps up to reach the elevator. This is not the end of it though, because the elevator stops only on half floors, so there are more stairs to navigate with luggage to get to the room. No help with luggage is offered. Rooms are clean and modern. In the first room they gave me, the A/C didn't work; they moved me to another room where it worked well. Comfortable bed and pillows. Conveniently located power outlets. Well lit desk area. Amenities included electric kettle and espresso coffee maker. Bathroom with everything in working order. Shower with good water pressure. Wifi worked well. Breakfast buffet with reasonable selection and good quality items.

Nice breakfast, polite reception staff and they able to speak english fluently. So its relieving. Location is very good. The city is walkable to explore. Very bad we only stay for 1nights.

On way there no problems, polite, helpful staff. NOT the case on way back Friday 26/8. Rude unhelpful staff, who wanted to charge one of us for drink, but with no price list. When asked apparently the price list is private and no receipt could be provided! Screams out that someone on the make. Also staff entered one of the rooms while we loading cars and hadn’t even checked out which is totally unacceptable. So unfortunately you missed out on 14 breakfast on Saturday 27/8 as we all went elsewhere. I know this is a budget hotel but don’t expect to be shouted at when we are paying customers. Would like to speak to someone about having some money refunded and some of your staff need to be trained in customer services and also conveniently don’t understand English which is not what is advertised! Very bad experience and definitely not happy.

On our way to Switzerland we stopped in Clermont-Ferrand at the hotel Campanille Le Brezet. When we arrived in the afternoon, and there were already few parking spaces available, but luckily we found a free place. The hotel is quietly located, the room was small, as in all Campanille hotels, but everything was available and clean. We also made use of the restaurant, which is a plus, but what we noticed was the small choice of the menue (3 options), but it was very tasty, we have to admit and the service was also very friendly. The parking was not closed during the night. Our rating: certainly good for an overnight stay in transit.
