UUtente ospiteHow can a hotel with no integrity operate legally?
On 20 November 2024, I booked a 3-night stay at Casamax Suites (21–24 April 2025) and paid the full amount of SGD 420.66 on the same day. We arrived at Casamax Suites around 9 PM on 21 April 2025 and proceeded with our check-in.
- After presenting our passports and booking confirmation at check-in, the front desk staff notified us that Trip.com had cancelled our reservation.
- We were in shock - how could this be? I hadn't received any cancellation notice from Trip.com. To confirm, I double-checked all my booking details with the front desk staff (booking date, payment date, booking number, etc.). Yet the staff still insisted that Trip.com had canceled our reservation.
- After such a long journey, we simply needed a resolution that would allow us to check in and get some rest.
- The front desk staff demanded we pay €300 before they would allow us to check in for just one night.
- Since it was already late, we reluctantly agreed to pay a €300 deposit to check in first, intending to resolve the issue with Trip.com in the morning. I then provided my credit card to the front desk for the deposit payment.
- Surprisingly, the hotel refused credit card payments. The staff demanded €300 IN CASH ONLY.
- I informed the staff that carrying €300 in cash was impossible since we'd already prepaid our full trip.
- Despite our explanation, the staff refused to let us check in unless we handed over €300 in cash. The staff suggested using the ATM at the hotel entrance to withdraw cash with my credit card.
- This CASH-ONLY DEMAND raises serious concerns.
- We were appalled by the staff’s unprofessional conduct and baseless insistence on cash payment. I formally requested written verification of the alleged cancellation by Trip.com, presenting my payment receipt as proof of the valid booking.
- Only after I challenged them did the staff relent, offering to check us in ‘as an exception’ without payment.
- I escalated this issue to Trip.com the following day, and they explicitly stated that my reservation was never cancelled.
- To avoid further disruption to our travels, we chose to temporarily defer the matter.
Despite our decision to prioritize our trip, the hotel’s misconduct must be addressed to prevent future guests from similar experiences. Meanwhile, we strongly demand the hotel provide a reasonable explanation for what happened that night.

UUtente ospiteWe visited to celebrate my partner’s birthday and overall had a really lovely time. The hotel kindly decorated our room, which was such a thoughtful touch. They had also assured me there would be a cake surprise in one of the restaurants on our final night – this was initially missed, but once I reminded them, they quickly arranged a beautiful cake, which we really appreciated.
The guest relations team were friendly and helpful with most of our requests. One thing I hadn’t realised was that the à la carte restaurants weren’t included in the all-inclusive package, which may have been something I missed at the time of booking.
As a vegan, I did experience a few hiccups when dining – despite letting both reception and guest relations know in advance, the restaurant team initially offered me fish sushi, then sushi with cream cheese, before finally preparing a vegan version. That said, they were patient, kind, and had lovely attitudes throughout, which made all the difference.
We really enjoyed the massages and hammam treatments – very relaxing and professionally done. There were plenty of food options in the main buffet and outdoor areas. The beer garden was a nice addition, although some of the beers on tap like Guinness weren’t available during our visit.
Food labelling could have been a little clearer – for example, some dishes were labelled as both vegan and containing dairy, so I needed to double-check with the chefs. I did appreciate the designated vegan corner with three hot dishes, vegan cheeses and salads – a lovely touch. The café had plenty of vegetarian options and one vegan ice cream.
One of the highlights was the variety of adult-only spaces – from dining areas to pools – which offered a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our room on the 7th floor was fantastic – clean, comfortable, with a lovely view and a pillow menu that was a great extra touch.
The cocktails, drinks, and food overall were very enjoyable. I’d pre-booked a taxi from the airport for €25, which went smoothly. On the way back, we found Uber didn’t work in the area, despite advice that it might – we ended up paying €30 for a local taxi, so I’d definitely recommend pre-booking both ways.
Entertainment and activities at the hotel were brilliant – we tried water gym, pilates and Zumba, and really enjoyed the evening live music in the amphitheatre. The beachfront bar on stilts was a standout – especially the firepit by the sea, where we watched the sunset and listened to the waves.
All in all, it was a memorable and relaxing break with some wonderful touches – just a few things to be mindful of for fellow travellers, particularly if you have dietary requirements

Valore per soldi 10/10.Non ho mai visto niente di simile in questo prezzo.Vai per tutti inclusi, ci sono 3 pasti buffet e molte altre cose che vanno tutto il giorno.Il buffet è stato molto buono , menu esteso in pasti buffet.
Se hai bisogno di qualcosa nella stanza, ti aiuteranno entro 5 minuti.

The only issue I had was that one of the cleaners at the facility stole money I left in the room. I returned to the room 2mins later & was shocked to see the money not there. When I reported it. They told me the staff thought the money was a tip but the money was hidden so how could she possibly think that. The managers and receptionist kept insisting she took the money because she thought it was a tip but it was practically impossible to think that especially when knowing how I hid the money. I also took a video of the incident. They also threatened to call the police on me because they didn’t want me complaining about the incident in the lobby for other customers to hear. I don’t think they would have gotten anywhere with that because I was the victim of theft. They offered me a gesture of a free massage or wine & fruits. I wanted a different gesture because I had already paid for a message & had bought my own wine already. I wanted transfer to the airport when I was time to leave instead but they resfused. I asked them to include breakfast instead they refused. So had to settle for a 20minute massage. The massage was good though. Other than the theft everything else was amazing. There was a male receptionist who was also a little rude. The female receptionist was pleasant.
Great hotel though I would definitely go back just make sure to keep valuables on me!

Things I didn’t like :
1. The BUFFET is not worth it at all for a 5 Star Hotel = honestly it is very underwhelming, there aren’t many Turkish specialities and the desserts are truly just filled with SUGAR. The Coffee was extremely disappointing, it was essentially just hot water with a small coffee earthy aftertaste. Very disappointing for a country known for its strong coffee ! The snack bars have slushy machines that are never cleaned and don’t taste good at all. The ice-creams served in the hotel are essentially RUBBER. As a Turkish man myself, I was very shocked because our country is known for such amazing delicacies. The only great food night was Wednesday night called “TURKISH NIGHT” at the buffet, which they have every Wednesday. The rest of the week is simply generic food.
2. The staff “helping” customers book day trips and taxis is fully SCAMMING foreign customers = I asked this man to help me book a boat trip to SULUADA and he said it would cost me 60€/person. Not knowing that I was Turkish myself, he looked at my face and just wrote 60€ per person on a piece of paper and looked at me🤣 I then told him that i saw tickets on the KLOOK app at 25€ per person and he lied to me saying that I would have to pay at the boat a supplement. I tried leaving and he stopped me and said he could go down to 38€ per person 😂 so I bought the tickets on KLOOK and had an amazing day without any scams haha please don’t believe the prices from the man next to the reception.
3. The spa, the outdoor swimming pool and the fitness center all close at 8 pm. There is essentially nothing to do at the hotel after 8 😅
4. The Hotel clients is essentially made up of 90% RUSSIAN speakers haha I have never seen more Russians in my life, that’s not a truly bad thing just preparing you that the hotel really is trying to accommodate the Russian clientele as much as possible 😅
GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE HOTEL :
1. Maybe because I was a Turkish speaker = the staff (beside the lying salesman haha) was very kind, very much the Turkish warmth and inviting culture. Very much appreciated.
2. For alcohol drinkers, the bar is unlimited if you book the all inclusive pass.
3. The outdoor pool is nice.
4. The check in and checkout process is very simple, but could be also because I speak turkish.
5. There are a few little supermarkets if you want snacks like ice creams, also beautiful walking roads along the beach.

UUtente ospiteThis was a terrible experience. Asked for a room change due to the continuing building work going on at this hotel. It’s trading during a major overhaul. Work starts at 8am through to some days 8pm. There’s no way you can relax on the day. The second room we where moved to had a tiny window with a view to shock anyone. Photo uploaded. Walls are paper thin we could hear every sound from the room next door. A telephone conversation including the call responder could be heard as if we were all in the same room. Poor fitted flooring. The wardrobe was free standing and when the door was open the whole thing rocked forward and had to be held to stop it falling on us. The breakfast room which was a previous basement has had a poor re fit and there was a strong smell of sewage in the mornings. We where told all rooms were non smoking yet the smell of smoking was strong in both of the bedrooms we had been allocated. I spoke to reception regarding this issue to be told it’s the workman smoking outside the back door and leaving the door open, plus people standing by the enterance of the hotel’s automatic doors. The second bedroom we where relocated to had several a/c units outside of the window which kept us awake . We had four nights here and did not get any good rest. Continental breakfast was very basic, all of the choice was uncovered and had flys over it . Staff in this area spent most of the time on there mobile phones, The breakfast room was clearly still under construction!. A positive is the Wi-Fi signal was good but different code depending what floor you where on. Hotel is very close to the Main Street with traffic at all times. Sirens from emergency services day and night. We over heard many guests complain about the noise from builders and very thin walls.
