I had a flight with an overnight layover in Qingdao, so I opted to stay locally in a hotel. 'Locally' meant riding two stops on the subway, and catching the bus for two stops which altogether cost me less than £1. Probably about $1 US, or €1. However, I had to wait a while for the bus, so it took me about an hour. Upon arrival, the landlord treated me like a king and was exceptionally helpful. I can speak Chinese, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless people can speak a little Chinese and can read basic sentences. The hotel is fairly basic but, as I said, the proprietors are extremely accommodating and told me to ask if I needed anything. The landlord showed me where to eat locally (and physically took me there!) and when I left, he showed me where the nearest bus stop is (photo). I couldn't make the hot water work for a shower, but had I asked I'm sure they would have sorted it. I was in a bit of a rush in the morning and I didn't want to make a fuss. The bed was hard (like I Chinese prefer) but I slept well. There was no kettle in the room, but boiling water was provided. The area is out in the country, so if you want to see how ordinary Chinese live, this is a good opportunity. City hotels are quite westernised but this place is authentic Chinese. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, offering great local tips—like the best nearby jiaozi (dumpling) spot or how to find a quieter section of the beach. Accommodation-wise, it delivers solid value. I stayed in a clean and adequately sized dormitory with personal lockers, reading lights, and privacy curtains—key details for a good night's sleep. The shared bathrooms were functional and kept clean regularly. While the facilities are simple and show some wear (expected in a popular, social hostel), everything was in good working order. If you're a solo traveler or a group looking to meet people and be in the center of the action, Desti is an ideal choice. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it excels as a social basecamp for exploring Qingdao. You're paying for the prime location, the vibrant community vibe, and the authentic experience of connecting with fellow adventurers, all while being just steps away from the city's most famous postcard views. I’d happily return.

The hostel is not in the city centre. If you don’t like to walk it can be quite long to get into the city centre but there are many solutions around like the bus and the bike so I think the location is good. Plenty restaurant around ! The room is very clean, the bed are very confortable I slept very well in it. The staff is really nice and ready to help you anytime ! I would definitely recommend it ^^

Sono arrivato a tarda notte, era buio e spaventoso, non come un hotel o un ostello che si vedono spesso. Ma il proprietario è stato così gentile da accogliermi. Mi ha detto che c'era una notte libera per le prenotazioni, quindi mi ha separato dalle prenotazioni esistenti e mi ha lasciato usare il dormitorio da solo. Soprattutto al sorgere del sole, ho potuto vedere quanto fosse ben gestito. Ho riso di me stesso per non essere riuscito a vederlo bene perché era buio il giorno prima. Il miglior rapporto qualità-prezzo, la moglie del proprietario parla correntemente inglese e il proprietario è una persona fantastica proveniente dal continente. C'è un motivo per cui ha valutazioni così alte.

La posizione del Qingjiang è eccellente, il traffico intorno a sé e il viaggio è facile.La stanza è pulita e pulita, il letto è comodo e l'atmosfera è buona nella zona pubblica.Il personale è attento e offre molte consigli pratici, il rapporto costo-benefici è molto alto e vale la pena tornare.
