Stayed here for a night. Some might find the location a little dodgy at night due to homeless population in the area but otherwise really good food places around and across the street from a convenience store!

Overall, this was a nice little place to stay. You can tell it's an older facility, but seems to be fairly well maintained. Pretty clean overall, though the floors were a bit sticky. The setup of our rooms was nice as well. I'd probably stay again if I were ever in the area.

Overall a great experience and very well located hotel. Many people from Ottawa don’t even know it exists but it is located right between Parliament Hill, Byward Market, the Rideau Canal and the University of Ottawa, all within reasonable walking distance. The room was nearly organised and clean, they provide fresh bed sheets, a towel, and a locker for each person in the room for the dorms. The bathrooms have body wash. The services are great too as they hold your luggage and offer different activities to do. A big highlight was the free jail tour in the mornings where they provide insights on what the building was like during its run. My friends from Ottawa came with me and found it interesting too as a local. If you do not have time for that, each floor has informative banners that explain similar historical background. Furthermore, they had laminated sheets in the lobby with recommendations for places to go beyond the regular tourist staples and great places to eat. I went with one of their restaurant recommendations and it was delicious! Note that I do not think it is accessible since it is a building that has to be preserved in its original state, there is no elevator, but each floor is only around half a flight of stairs. Sound also travels a lot in the hostel because of the jail’s design, but they provide ear plugs at the front desk. The breakfast was also great :)

Arrived late at night, check-in was quick and easy, the room was clean, and got everything we needed. Kids love the swimming pool. Breakfast was good, staffs are very nice and helpful. A/C was loud, but our kids were able to sleep through it, so it was not a big issue. Overall, a friendly, simple accommodation , we were happy with our stay.

La stanza era buona. Tuttavia, arrivare dal parcheggio alla porta anteriore era un po' lunga e era in una strada così camminando da sola non si sentiva troppo comoda. Decepita la piscina era definitivamente chiusa. La mia stanza era pulita ma scesa. Deve essere ripristinato.Il colazione era decente ma non grande. L'unica cosa bella che l'hotel nel centro di città era di estendere il check-out fino alle 12.

La posizione è terribile e molto conveniente. I segni iconici sono tutti a circa mezz'ora di cammino. Il colazione è semplice e viene fornito ogni giorno. Ci sono sezioni separate per lavorare o socializzare che sono buone. Solo il ritorno è che può essere piuttosto disturbante se siete un sonno leggero. I rumore sono inevitabili, dato che tutti i ponti sono nello stesso spazio.

Checkinn è il nuovo ostello di alto livello... Ho viaggiato in tutti gli ostelli di Toronto e questo, recentemente ristrutturato, è la Cadillac degli ostelli. Ero un ex membro dello staff del vecchio ostello. Si tratta ovviamente di una ristrutturazione seria, con standard da ostello di Hong Kong... Il Checkinn, sebbene un po' distante dal centro, è circondato da supermercati e dalla vera vita di strada di Toronto. Avrebbe bisogno di qualche tavolo studio in più, ma le camere sono pulite e c'è un servizio di portineria 24 ore su 24. Consiglio le camere private, dimenticatevi degli hotel. Sarebbero utili alcuni distributori automatici, soprattutto dopo l'orario di chiusura. La TV è un po' troppo grande e nessuno la usa. Ci sono dei patii se si sceglie la camera giusta. Non c'è un angolo cottura, ma ci sono distributori automatici di acqua calda. I frigoriferi non mancano. L'unico inconveniente è la mancanza di asciugamani di cortesia. Il posto è tenuto pulito, il che è importante.

The Woodview Inn in Gananoque is a beautiful and charming bed and breakfast. The property has so much character and history, which gives it a very cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The location is excellent. Gananoque itself is a wonderful town, and the inn is within easy walking distance of many of the local attractions, restaurants, and places to explore. What really stood out to us was the hospitality of the owners, Steve and John. They are very involved in running the inn and clearly take great pride in the experience they provide for their guests. Their personal attention, warmth, and care make the stay feel especially welcoming. Overall, The Woodview Inn is a lovely place to stay if you are visiting Gananoque. It combines history, charm, a great location, and wonderful hospitality from Steve and John.
