My wife and I visited Catalina Island for our 28th anniversary — our first time back since before we were married in 1997. We chose the Catalina Canyon Inn specifically for the pool, jacuzzi, on-site restaurant, and shuttle service. Their website is very nice and seemed like a perfect match for the occasion. Unfortunately, very little matched what was advertised. Shuttle: The shuttle was not waiting at the Catalina Express port when we arrived on the last ferry Saturday evening which was unexpected. Four of us were left waiting in the dark for about 20 minutes until the other couple called the hotel. The driver was friendly and apologized, but this set the tone for the weekend. The shuttle was consistently unreliable throughout our stay. They tell you to call the driver directly, but he often didn't answer. You'd end up having to call the hotel instead, and the shuttle only seemed to come after someone went inside and told the front desk in person. At one point we waited 45 minutes. Some guests got frustrated and just decided to walk, but the hotel sits at the top of a steep hill — not a realistic option, especially for older guests like us. Their website suggests the shuttle runs regularly, but that was far from our experience. Restaurant: We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 PM Saturday and were turned away, even though their website says they're open until 8:00 PM. We had to rush down the hill to find dinner to-go in town before the shuttle stopped running at 8:45. It was a shame we didn't even have time to stay and eat on our anniversary or face having to trek up that hill. The next morning I mentioned this to the restaurant owner, who insisted they closed at 8:00 and that she was there. She then told us the restaurant closes at 2:00 PM on Sundays — so dinner there that night wasn't an option either. She was very friendly though I must say. On Monday we finally had breakfast before checkout. The food was mediocre and didn't match the glowing reviews at all. The prices were also odd — $12 for mozzarella sticks, $20 for nachos, but only $11 for pulled pork sliders, which you'd expect to be the pricier item. The pricing just didn't add up. While we were there, another couple was turned away at 1:30 PM because the restaurant closes from 2–4 on Mondays. We could feel their frustration. Jacuzzi: The jacuzzi we were looking forward to was covered up and converted into a gazebo with chairs. At first we couldn't find it but yea. No mention of this on the website. Room issues: The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. The front desk told us we can mention it to housekeeping, who didn't come until after 5:00 PM. We got the soap and a couple fresh towels. The towels themselves were thin and didn't dry well overnight so fresh ones were sorely needed to get at least one shower in with soap before we had to leave the next day. The TV didn't work at all, and the microwave was unplugged — though I was able to fix that myself. The hotel also doesn't offer complimentary coffee, which is standard at most hotels we've stayed at for half the price. The good: The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the balcony was a nice touch. The room was quiet. Bottom line: The website gives a very different impression than what you actually get. Between the unreliable shuttle, limited and unpredictable restaurant hours, missing amenities, thin towels, and no coffee, this was not the anniversary experience we hoped for. I'd recommend staying somewhere closer to downtown so you're not dependent on a shuttle and stuck with limited options. I think we need to redo our anniversary. It was a miss for sure.

Il personale allo sportello, dai capelli bianchi, era molto cordiale, parlava inglese e cinese e si è anche preso l'iniziativa di aiutare con informazioni sui treni, dare consigli sui mezzi di trasporto e chiacchierare. Il resto del personale è ordinario. È disponibile il deposito bagagli, la camera è piccola ma pulita e ordinata. La stanza è scarsamente insonorizzata e si sente cosa succede nella stanza accanto. La TV in camera era pessima e lenta, e lo schermo era bloccato per 3/4 e inutilizzabile. La cassaforte era rotta. La colazione era molto buona. Un po' lontano dai negozi del centro città, ma raggiungibile a piedi C'è solo una sedia e un tavolo nella stanza

All'hotel a Canyon, una fabbrica di Tesla è accanto a una strada di luce verde, c'è una piccola zona di cena e diversi ristoranti cinesi.La stanza non è grande, la dimensione della stanza normale a casa.L'hotel ha 3 piccole barili d'acqua e il letto è anche comodo. La stanza non si lava ogni giorno e si lava, e le lavagne cambiano i capelli.Acqua calda, scarpe, denti, denti, questi non sono quasi in ogni hotel bellissimo.

L'hotel è situato in una penisola, davanti e dietro, sulla baia, e il paesaggio è molto bello.C'è qualche chilometro da downtown, è conveniente guidare a fare shopping e mangiare.C'è un parcheggio di 30 bili al piano di sotto per un giorno.Il servizio della ricetta è molto buono e si ferma presto. L'appartamento è un po'vecchio, c'è un piccolo balcone che può vedere il panorama del mare.Il bagno è in generale pulito, ma il bagno ha trovato un giovenco.

È un po' lontano dalla stazione ferroviaria, ma per fortuna c'è un McDonald's proprio di fronte e una fermata dell'autobus proprio di fronte, quindi è pulito, tranquillo e sicuro. C'è anche un ristorante all'interno dell'hotel. Il sistema di sicurezza è molto efficiente perché bisogna toccare l'ascensore ogni volta prima di poter salire.

Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars; First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review. The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-) Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance. 1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process. 2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance. Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

L'illuminazione in camera è molto intelligente e non ci sono molti tipi di colazione, ma la colazione è così in tutti gli hotel degli Stati Uniti. La posizione è ottima, ci vogliono solo dieci minuti a piedi per raggiungere Moscone Hall! Questo è più sicuro. Il letto è grande, adatto per due persone. Il check-in e il check-out sono self-service. Nel ristorante è disponibile un forno a microonde. L'acqua calda può essere richiesta al cameriere. Non sono presenti pantofole, bollitore per l'acqua calda, spazzolino da denti , ecc. nella stanza c'è sapone per le mani, gel doccia, ecc.

Salute: le camere e lo spazio pubblico sono molto puliti e sanitari, che sono confortevoli. Upon check-in, I was asked to pay for the room, which I did. However, I noticed the amount charged was higher than the total from my original booking. I asked the receptionist (I believe his name was Raul, though I’m not entirely sure) why that was. I explained the amount I had been quoted during booking. He then mentioned, almost as an afterthought, that a $150 deposit is taken at check-in. I told him this should have been communicated before processing the payment, as it’s standard practice to inform guests of such charges upfront. While I wasn’t pleased, I went ahead and paid. I also mentioned that I had submitted a request in advance for a room away from the elevator with a good view. He told me the hotel was fully booked, which confused me, since I had booked well in advance and included my request at the time. He assigned me Room 503, which was directly across from the elevator, not away from it. I didn’t want to complain as I had just traveled over 12 hours from London to San Diego and was extremely tired. I planned to grab some dinner and get straight to bed. However, the room was quite noisy—there was a lot of hallway activity, and the family next door had their TV volume quite high. I decided not to go downstairs and complain, hoping I could just fall asleep. Unfortunately, I was woken up around 3 a.m. by a crying child, and again at 5 a.m. At that point, I was extremely frustrated and went to speak to the receptionist on duty, Matthew. I explained everything to him, and he was very understanding. He said there was availability and offered to move me immediately…this was surprising, considering the earlier claim that the hotel was full. He moved me to Room 204. While it wasn’t far from the elevator either, he assured me it would be quieter since there were no large families on that floor. He was right—the room was much more peaceful, and I appreciated his help. At checkout, I saw the same receptionist who had checked me in and decided not to approach him. Instead, I spoke to Antonio at the other desk. I asked about the deposit, and he informed me it would take 2–3 business days to be released. Naturally, I wasn’t thrilled to hear this, especially after the earlier issues, so I shared my entire experience with him. He apologized sincerely and mentioned the initial receptionist may need additional training, which they would look into. Overall, the stay was decent for a short 3-night visit, but the start could have been handled much better.

My first impression walking into the lobby, many people eating outside food and drinking in front of the front desk. Overall seems like the carpet in the hallway is new install, room is clean but the sofa is a little bit old, bathroom towel can be upgrade to better quality, body wash gel is empty, coffee machine seems like a long time nobody used kinda dirty.
