We stayed for 5 nights and found that the hotel was not at a 4 star rating standard. Good points: - We had a great view of the beach from our room - 2 min walk to beach Bad points: - a general lack of enthusiasm and purpose from staff at hotel. We found ourselves constantly waiting for things and would find out key information about the facilities as our stay rolled on. There was always lots of staff on reception but no one was doing anything. - They will nickel and dime you for everything, even the coffee capsule in your room! - large bed but uncomfortable - The hotel is stuck in a kind of early 2000’s time warp. I’m sure it was great back in the day but has fallen into disrepair. - shower and bathroom not cleaned to a high enough standard, mould visible. - breakfast was basic and not at a 4 star standard, eggs tasted like flour and bacon was processed. Sesimbra is a beautiful destination and if we had our time over again, we’d stay further down the beach at another hotel or Air B&B. You’re effectively paying for the view at this place but that’s about it.

Let’s start with the people: wonderful service, and staff that really cared about our stay. The room was excellent with a lovely ocean view, looking down upon the grounds as well. The food was excellent to boot. It’s a new hotel, but it looks like they got pretty much everything right.

We stayed there in September, for 6 days, as we had our wedding in costa caparica. We had a happy week in Portugal, but the quality of the service in the hotel was poor. The building itself is clean, and has a kind of desing, thats a plus. But the staff was not kind or nice at all. We literally felt bad whenever we went to the reception to discuss something (basic things, like reserving a table etc). They looked pretty grumpy and when we approached them, we felt uncomfortable, they just wanted to get rid of us. Applies for the Reception and the breakfast and bar staff. Only the cleaning ladies were nice and smiling. It was pretty difficult to order or ask in English durint launch or breakfast. Our parents arrived one day later, around 1 am in the morning, after a 14hours trip, and after check-in we had to do all the paying in this late hour, even though we asked and promised that we will come down first thing in the morning to pay, as they are exteremely exhausted after the trip. They didnt care at all. At other hotels we always paid upon leaving but even if they want to make sure and have it in advance, i truly believe they should be more emphatic and not keeping exhasuted people at the front desk for an extra 30 minutes in the middle of the night. My father has diabetes and high hart rate, he was really suffering after this trip and just wanted to go to bed. All the parents are above 65, it was unpleasent welcome. At this hotel you have to book the breakfast table in advance, doesnt matter how late you arrived,and even if this is the last thing you want to do on your holiday, to follow a schedule. When we ate at the bar, it took literally an hour to get some snack. The 3person room is not really a 3 person room, it is a normal room with an extra bed which is only suitable for smaller children. (It is not like a must, but a good indicator: we had our wedding there, walking out from the hotel, and no one from the staff had a kind word - even all the flight attandendts were nices that anyone in the hotel.) We choose the hotel as it is close to the beach by car, so it fulfilled the purpose, but we would not go back. For the price you can get better.

This is an unusual hotel pretty much in the middle of nowhere which is part of it’s attraction. The very rough access road leads to a large unsurfaced car park outside the attractive single story buildings of the hotel itself. It needs paved pathways from the car park so cases can be rolled. The atmosphere is calm and quiet. The design is modern and attractive. There is a pleasant pool area and there are tables for eating inside and out. The outlook reminded me of South Africa. Rooms are generally well designed and generous with an outside veranda overlooking the grounds. They are let down by having no door to close off the high speck bathroom and toilet which had a poor quality cheap plastic seat. Breakfast was very good. Lunch less so. Dinner was simple but good. Throughout or stay service was very good.

Oggi si trovano 8 giorni a Hotel Do Mar. È a pochi minuti dalla bella spiaggia di sabbia pulita. L'hotel stilizzato 70 è costruito nel lato di montagna. L'accesso ai piani è quindi diviso tra ascensori separati a circa il piano 5. Le camere sono confortevoli con un buon aria condizionata. Le camere hanno un stile di cottage con finestre di legno scuro, ciechi, porte e tappeti Le strutture in suite sembravano relativamente nuove e tutto funzionava bene. Le regole di covid erano attentamente osservate e il luogo era pulito senza spot. La sala da pranzo e il bar godono di una vista incredibile sulla baia. Il giardino dell'hotel ha alberi maturi e prati. La piscina era pulita e ben mantenuta; molti letti solari disponibili. Per le famiglie ci sono circa 20 passi dal lift inferiore alla spiaggia. Il mare è principalmente pedonale e livello. Sesimbra è un villaggio tranquillo. Oltre alla splendida spiaggia, ha un porto di pesca lavorativo e i ristoranti locali hanno il pesce più fresco. Questo è un nuovo trovato per noi, a circa 35 minuti da Lisbona. Ci sono alcuni servizi di autobus da Sesimbra, ma sarà necessario un auto per visitare la zona.

Hotel super ben situato, servizio 5 stelle, l'unica cosa meno buona che ho da sottolineare sono le tele, anche se sono smart TV sono già un po' vecchie e non hanno tutti i tipi di applicazioni e sono lenti

Su una stella, a mio parere. Non ha la categoria sufficiente per 4 stelle. Un servizio abbastanza debole per quanto riguarda le strutture e il ristorante. Le ragazze che mantengono le camere e la reception sono quelle se sono 5 stelle, per quanto riguarda il resto, in particolare del ristorante , oltre a non avere idea di come gestire, ci offrono con un'arroganza e prepotenza caratteristica di chi non è Non capisce niente del suo lavoro. Ma beh, non tornerò e non lo consiglio a nessuno, per il mio disgusto, perché pensavo che potrei avere una buona vacanza e un buon posto per riposare.

I had a bad last day experience there. I went to Setúbal with my wife and two daughters (3Y old and 1Y old baby) for the Alegro Half Marathon. The hotel had protocols with the organizers to allow late check-out on the running day. For my surprise, when I arrived from the running, they had already requested and quick out my family from the room. My wife had to carry alone the luggage to the main lobby and waiting for me. I couldn't shower and had to spend the rest of the planned day in Setúbal smelling like a pig. They wanted to fix the problem at the last minute by giving me back the key but, you know, there's nothing to do ”over spilled milk”. I guess is not staff fault but management fault that didn't communicate properly the info.
Pousada Castelo de Palmela – Historic Hotel

I visited Portugal on a group tour that included stays at three pousadas. A big takeaway from my experience is that pousadas are remarkably variable. Pousada Mosteiro de Guimaraes, was fantastic, while Conimbriga Hotel Do Paço was abysmal. This one, Pousada Castelo Palmela, was somewhere in-between. I recommend you choose your pousada carefully. The positives of Pousada Castelo Palmela are many and significant. It’s a magnificent building with fantastic views. I recommend you save some time to explore the fortress the hotel is part of, and, when weather permits, you go to the west side of the pousada’s grounds to enjoy a lovely sunset. However, the staff of this pousada could improve. I got the impression that the place was understaffed, and not all staff were fully trained. Dining was disappointing; the pousada’s restaurant has limited capacity and books up quickly, and there are few if any local restaurants to use as an alternative. To solve this, you could book half board, or reserve your dinner table well in advance. However, I don’t recommend that because, as well as being small relative to the number of guest rooms, the restaurant isn’t very good. My dinners here were frankly awful – uninspired and badly served, often cold. I recommend you go grocery shopping and bring food with you when you return to the hotel, or use Uber Eats to have your dinner delivered (as I did).

Ok haha haha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, la posizione è molto buona, il paesaggio è molto buono, la stanza è molto buona, nella metà della montagna.La sala fitness è anche molto buona!!!!!!!!!!
