Hotel a 4 stelle in Prefettura di Yamagata, Giappone

This hotel exceeded my expectations completely. The yamagata airport shuttle (from airport) has a drop-off point right in front of the hotel. The hotel is a 5minutes walk from yamagata station. There is a seven-konbini on 1F of the hotel building, and a toyota car rental directly across the street (1min walk). The hotel room was much bigger than hotel rooms in tokyo, with an amazingly luxurious toilet. Bottled water is provided everyday, as long as you remember to place the ”Make-up room” magnet outside your room door by 10am. The restaurant on 1F sells delicious yamagata beef sukiyaki, it is highly recommended though semi-expensive. The surrounding area of the hotel has a good mix of izakayas, konbinis (all 3 big brands incl lawsons & familymart), and fast food; you'll never go hungry. The reception desk is on 3F and the self-service amenities were of good quality (i.e., scented and thick oshibori, 2 different brands of facial cleansers & lotions, and drip coffee). The staff deserve praise for being so friendly, helpful, and accomodating; they allowed our request for cleaning to be done after 11.30am instead of the usual 10am, and gladly provided extra hangers and laundry bags. Speaking of laundry, there are coin operated laundry machines in this hotel, which have both washing and drying in a single machine; the machine is also password-protected per wash, which gives one a peace of mind. Stayed here for 9 nights as my base of operations for this holiday, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Daiwa Roynet Yamagata Ekimae. 10/10.

Love this hotel. It's beautifully designed by 坂茂 and it lives up to his fame. The buildings look like they are floating over the rice fields. Both dinners and breakfast were excellent. Most ingredients are sourced locally and they are delicious. But what I love the most is the open baths. Both are small, but they're carefully designed with a tranquil, soothing view. I'd love to come back again just for the hotel.

This hotel is located in a small village with a long history, and the atmosphere in the town is absolutely wonderful. The hotel parking lot is about 300 meters away, which is manageable and not too far. The interior is designed in traditional Japanese style, with a beautiful garden in the center of the hotel. It’s truly stunning. In front of the hotel, there is also a foot bath area, which adds a nice local touch. The rooms are authentic Japanese-style rooms. While we were having dinner, the staff came to prepare and lay out the futon for us, which made the experience feel very traditional and special. Breakfast and dinner may not be luxurious, but the food tastes good and the portions are generous — we were very full and satisfied. Some staff members speak very good English, which was very helpful. The hotel shop also offers a good variety of products. Personally, my favorite spot was the relaxing seating area next to the central garden — it was the perfect place to unwind. The room price is very reasonable and not expensive at all. This is definitely one of the most worthwhile places I’ve stayed.

Ci siamo andati da soli. Sentivamo già il forte odore di zolfo quando abbiamo superato Zao Onsen Street. Abbiamo raggiunto il parcheggio dell'hotel alla fine. Dopo aver parcheggiato l'auto, abbiamo dovuto salire più di una dozzina di gradini. Il personale dell'hotel si è fatto avanti con premura per aiutarci con i bagagli. Abbiamo alloggiato in una stanza con una sorgente termale semi-aperta. Il piano inferiore è il soggiorno e il piano superiore è la camera da letto. La stanza era molto spaziosa, confortevole e pulita. I pasti erano deliziosi e la sorgente termale era fantastica. Chi ama le sorgenti termali non rimarrà deluso. Fantastico!

Mi piace l'hotel Richmond per la sua decorazione moderna e la sua proprietà ben mantenuta. Purtroppo, questa posizione in particolare non è più rispetto ai criteri più basilari di un hotel - la pulizia, soprattutto in Giappone. Il bagno ha trovato molle tra il tubo e il muro, nonché tra i sedili della finestra. La posizione dell'hotel è a circa 5 minuti a piedi dalla stazione Yamagata. Il personale era bello e ospite. Il pranzo e le bevande gratuite e la crema di ghiaccio nel salone sono stati bellissimi tocchi al soggiorno.

Andavamo a Zao Onsen per sci, ma la città di Onsen era completamente prenotata. Cercando un po' più lontano, abbiamo trovato Tsukinoike offrendo camere e Kaiseki cena + colazione a un prezzo ragionevole, e così abbiamo deciso la prenotazione. Per nostra sorpresa, le immagini dell'hotel sono accurate, come l'hotel è stato recentemente ristrutturato. Ci sono elementi di design e dettagli in ogni angolo, e il nostro soggiorno è stato perfettamente piacevole. E' solo a 30 minuti di auto da Zao Onsen, rendendo il commut abbastanza ragionevole. Infine, il cibo era assolutamente di valore, perché il cuoco usava creativamente ingredienti locali per fare delizioso pranzo Kaiseki. Ci siamo trasferiti per due notti, e il cibo non si è ripetuto. Tsukinoike è stato un gemello inaspettato durante il nostro viaggio.

We arrived late (20:15) due to temporary closure of Sendai Airport (tsunami warning), and obviously we were late for the hotel dinner after having to travel all the way up from Narita instead. We were tired and hungry when we arrived, but the hotel disappointed us even more for not reserving our paid dinners for us, nor was there a reimbursement. Did they just throw the food away after all the preparation work? The (presumably) manager's attitude was one of inflexibility and apathy, so atypical of Japanese etiquette. The restaurants nearby were all closed already and we had to starve for the first night there. Very unpleasant and inconsiderate arrangement.

Charming onsen hotel located 5 min drive from Kaminoyama station. A shuttle pick up can be arranged with the hotel ahead of time available from 1430-1800. It’s a relatively dated property but well maintained. A small public onsen with a rotenburo, and a small private onsen within the room comfortable for two. The spring water through the property is the same. Meals provided are extensive, balanced and nutritious featuring local specialities like yam, Yamagata and Yonezawa beef. Drinks are offered at the lounge in the afternoon from 1700, morning coffee and tea available from 0800. Overall a comfortable and luxurious stay.

The hotel location is excellent and very convenient. The room is also very spacious and comfortable. However, one thing we were slightly disappointed with was that our request for two extra bottles of water was declined by the front desk, as they mentioned only two bottles are provided per day. We’re not sure if this is a standard policy across hotels in Japan. Overall, we were still very satisfied with our stay.
