Kenya: hotel con servizio colazione nella provincia di Contea di Kilifi

Overall, the hotel is good seeing that not many options in Malindi don’t have beachfronts. But maybe rates should be half the current one. We paid 200 USD per night per standard room for bed and breakfast, and we thought for what it is, it’s not worth it. We didn’t see the kind of services and amenities you’d expect from this price in Malindi. Also, breakfast was subpar for this kind of hotel and price. The breakfast wasn’t great and didn’t have many options. On my first breakfast I asked for Americano and they gave me cheap instant coffee. They replaced it with actual coffee when I told them this is bad instant coffee, but not sure why offer it in the first place. We had lunch there once and was good though. Also, for some reason they didn’t explain, we were not allowed to eat anything, even snacks, while sitting on the sun beds, only drinks allowed and if you want to eat you have to go to the restaurant or the beach bar. We thought that was unreasonably and unnecessarily restrictive. Like I wanted to chill on the sun beds while eating the desert I ordered from there, but they didn’t allow and were very insisting. They didn’t offer any explanation but “sorry, it’s not allowed.” Other beach bars and restaurants on the beach where we went to hang out allowed food while sitting on table/sun beds by the beach. Also, most hotels offer complimentary shuttle pick up from the airport (which is 12 minutes only away from the hotel). They don’t offer it for free and actually offer it at 6+ times more the market price (Uber and taxis charge 350 KES and, the hotel charges 2,000 KES.) On our first day, we seemed to be the only people at the hotel that are not there for the conference, upon arrival we went to the pool by the beach bar. We found it dirty, and full of dead flies and leaves. The staff were nice and responsive and cleaned it immediately, but why have this the pool like this until someone asks to clean it? They also say they have 5 pools (because there are pools in front of every set of four rooms) but the one in front of us was actually filthy. The water was dark and looked visibly not clean. If we asked, they would have probably cleaned it, but I’m not there to supervise and give instructions. I would’ve liked to just find things the way they’re supposed to be. These small things can be annoying though I wouldn’t say it ruined the experience, just made it a bit annoying. Like I’m coming to chill and relax without harming people, there’s no reason to “prevent” me from enjoying an ice cream while sitting watching the beach, have dirty pools, offer bad coffee…etc. we had a good experience overall and I still enjoyed my time, but I might consider other options for my next trip to Malindi seeing that it didn’t provide value for money, especially that most hotels’ rates were around one third of this one (but didn’t have beach fronts, which is probably the reason why).

Recentemente sono rimasto a Diamonds Malindi in Kenya, e ha offerto una fuga costiera rilassante e scenica con un forte accento sul comfort e il rilassamento del lusso. Il resort è situato lungo la costa di Malindi, con lussuosi giardini tropicali e facile accesso alla spiaggia. L'atmosfera è tranquilla, rendendolo particolarmente adatto per coppie, famiglie o chiunque voglia distendersi dalla vita urbana occupata. Le viste sulla spiaggia e la brisa oceanica creano un ambiente davvero tranquillo per tutta la permanenza. Il personale era costantemente caldo, professionale e attento, contribuendo in modo significativo all'esperienza generale.Il servizio tra il reception e cena era tranquillo e accogliente, con un vero sforzo per far sentire gli ospiti a casa. Le camere sono spaziose e ben mantenute, con letti confortevoli e servizi essenziali. Le camere più vicine alla spiaggia o alla piscina sono particolarmente piacevoli a causa delle viste e di facile accesso. La selezione di cibo è stata diversa e piacevole, con una miscela di cucina internaziona e locale kenyana. Il cibo vicino all'oceano ha aggiunto un bel toccamento all'esperienza generale. L'area di piscina e la struttura della spiaggia sono ben mantenute e offre molte spazio per rilassarsi. In generale, Diamonds Malindi è una scelta ideale per i viaggiatori che cercano un soggiorno tranquillo, scenico e confortevole davanti alla spiaggia con un servizio amichevole e un'atmosfera rilassata. Si tratta di attività ad alta energia e di rallentamento e di godimento della bellezza costiera del Kenya.

Distant relatives is the perfect place to stay in Kilifi. The whole staff is very friendly and make you feel like family. My wife and I arrived during off season, so when we showed up at 04:30 there was already a room available even though our check in was technically not until 12:00 that day. Mohammed at the bar made sure we were taken care of whenever we wanted something to eat or drink. The food and drink prices were reasonable, after 5 days we only spent around $100 USD. The pool was our favorite spot to sit and relax while reading our books. But reception was also able to help us call a Tuk Tuk into town and to the white sandy beaches and that was about $10 USD round trip. Beware of the Vervet monkeys though, they live in the trees surrounding the property and they will steal your food if you turn your eyes for even just a second! The toilets outside the Bandas are composting toilets, and that isn’t for everyone, but they do have traditional flush toilets as well near the pool area.

Bella posizione, eccellenti camere con grandi viste sull'oceano e balcone con letto e sedie che si possono sedersi e rilassarsi mentre si guarda l'oceano. Molto pulito, non molto varietà con il cibo e scelte particolarmente limitate se non mangiare alimenti o pesci. Il servizio era molto lento anche se l'hotel non era occupato. Parla al manager ma ancora scopri che il servizio non migliorava. Il Wi-Fi non lavorava nelle stanze e prese la maggior parte della mia vacanza prima che fosse risolto, correvano fuori dai ghiacci per la maggior parte del tempo e, anche se erano consapevoli delle mie preoccupazioni, sentono che si è fatto un sforzo molto per risolverli. Non intendevo restare lì ancora.

Io e il mio fidanzato ci siamo rimasti per 6 notti e era magico. Ottimo ambiente, eccellente servizio. Il posto è sicuro di essere pulito. I cibi sono deliziosi. Le attività e le cose che si possono vedere hanno la spiaggia proprio lì, a piedi di distanza dal vostro bungalow. Anche se non ti piace andare sulla spiaggia, ma io penso che stai facendo un grosso errore. Sentirsi che acqua fredda dell'Oceano Indiano. Puoi vedere tutti i tipi di uccelli e animali. E' un paradiso assoluto. I'd facilmente dare questo posto un 10/10 e lo consiglio a chiunque.

Pros: Hotel bellissimo costruito con la sua località nel cuore. L'architettura swahili nelle camere è soprattutto di alto livello. Grande, pulite camere con vista e balcone. Grande personale, Amisi alla reception e George al ristorante erano eccezionali. Kilifi è bella, quindi visitare di nuovo. P/s - se puoi, visita il bagno! Coni: Il cibo era medio (di buffet e colazione), che hanno grande spazio per il miglioramento.

Tutto sommato la struttura non è male, molto bella la piscina e anche la spiaggia attrezzata, c’è un campo da beach volley…anche la posizione è ottima. Da mangiare è ok… anche se c’è da rivedere qualcosa sopratutto nel variare i cibi e nel mettere frutta a disposizione… il personale è molto gentile. L’unica pecca è l’organizzazione per l’intrattenimento degli ospiti.. animazione quasi inesistente essendo un resort!

A beautiful hotel and grounds but just lacked life. There was no bar or restaurant for service around the pool and for the evening you had to preorder. The beach club attached to the  property was a great addition.

Nice place with a great ambiance. It’s within walking distance to the beach, and the staff are welcoming and friendly you might even feel like extending your stay because of how pleasant the environment is.
