The Mill Hotel & Spa is in an ideal location, just 5 minutes walk from Chester train station and the centre of Chester itself. So, what is a stay in this hotel like? I stayed in the Business Class Double room with a view of the canal. The room is a fair size, with the king size bed being very comfortable and clean. A big drawback for the room, however, is the lack of air conditioning facilities available. I stayed at the end of July, and whilst the outside wasn’t hot, the room itself was stuffy and opening the window didn’t really help too much. I can’t imagine what it would be like staying here in during a heatwave, which is becoming more common! The room also comes with decent tea and coffee making facilities, along with a desk for working. The bathroom is a good size, but it could do with a bit of cleaning. There are two shower nozzles - the smaller standard nozzle was fine but the rainfall shower nozzle was extremely dirty. It looks like it hasn’t been used in a while - and I’d recommend not using that particular shower if you stay here. The extractor fan vent is also very dusty and obviously hasn’t been cleaned in a while! Over to the spa facilities - they are nothing short of exceptional. This is the real draw when staying here, with the swimming pool and sauna being to an excellent standard. Use of the swimming pool and gym is free to all guests whilst staying here, so make good use of the facilities! I opted for the inclusion of breakfast during my stay, and I’d say it was ok rather than great. The amount of food available isn’t huge, though the likes of the croissants and cooked breakfast are to a good standard. As the hotel is in need of an update - it firmly feels like it’s stuck in the mid noughties - the hotel does excel in the standard of service provided to its customers. Whether that be from the cleaners, the reception staff or the waiting staff, everyone is smiling and friendly. It makes all the difference! Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. I hope they do update the rooms soon enough - they really do need air conditioning! And I also hope the bathrooms were thoroughly cleaned a little more. But everything else was to a good standard and for the price paid (£90 for two people with breakfast and spa facilities included), you can’t find much better than that!

I had a good stay with my girlfriend at The Tytherington. The only thing we were unhappy with was the food. It took about 1 hour to receive our food, and we were also told different information about the Kitchen closure time. Likely, we could give our order on time, but someone who was served after us was not able to. It seemed that on the day we visited, the kitchen staff was either short-staffed or had other issues. The staff behind the counter looked inexperienced, with only 1 or 2 who knew what to do, though they had too much to do already and couldn't assist. The view from their garden was great, over their golf pitch.

Brilliant hotel all facilities , food,staff lovely . Problem is its no point having all that if your room is facing one of the busiest roads in Chester kept getting woke up by heavy traffic.

L'hotel Oddfellows è stato facile da accedere, ma avrebbe aiutato a avere l'indirizzo esatto dell'appartamento in anticipo, così potremmo parcheggiare più facilmente. L'appartamento 5 era in alto e molto spazioso. Il soggiorno/cucina/cina era ben strutturato e il tè e il caffè disponibile erano molto benvenuti. Camere e bagni erano grandi, confortevoli e puliti (ma potevano essere fatti con qualche gancio per asciugamani o cappotti). C'è anche una lavanderia. Decof è chicco e la posizione è grande - proprio dalle strade principali. Favoloso luogo per soggiornare.

Recentemente rimasto qui per 5 giorni. E’ una fantastica esperienza qui. Il personale è incredibilmente utile. Non ha ricevuto tutti i nomi del personale, ma Dave in particolare è stato estremamente utile e ha lasciato il suo cammino per assicurarsi che un paio di parcheggi siano stati ordinati immediatamente. La situazione del parcheggio è l'unica questione reale che avrei con l'hotel, poiché è un parcheggio piccolo e gli spazi sono in primo luogo arrivati, ma questo non mi impedirà di tornare. Le camere sono eccellenti e pulite senza punti di forza.A 10 minuti di cammino verso la città e bellissime passeggiate lungo il canale che corre accanto all'hotel. Se non vuoi che una sveglia rumorosa intorno 6.30am dalla musica di giochi sotto resti lontano dalle camere di primo piano, anche se questo non ci ha disturbato al minimo, perché eravamo felici di essere in anticipo

Le camere sono molto leggere e pulite e letti robust. Nel sito ufficiale degli hotel, si dice che le camere sono climatizzate, ma questo non è vero. Quando abbiamo chiesto al ragazzo di ricevere, ha cercato di convincermi che l’ho letto male e ha cercato di farmi sembrare stupido, ma chiaramente dice che le camere hanno un aircondition, ma solo la ricezione/lobby ha un aircondition. La stanza era molto confortevole, poteva fare con un po'di biancheria, come guardare direttamente negli uffici lungo la strada, a meno che non chiudessi le tende.

The location of this hotel is great, very close to Chester and all the attractions around. In terms of the room, our room was very spacious and the bed was very big. However it was two singles joined together, so a gap between the two. This is probably where the good bits end. The size of the room and bathroom really was a positive though, especially travelling with a baby. We had to pay £5 to hire a travel cot and in the end we didn’t use it. The cot mattress appears to have never been replace and was very thin and lumpy, making it redundant. The wooden slates at the bottom of the crib could be felt very dominantly through what was left of the mattress, meaning our baby was waking up uncomfortable and we had to transfer him to the bed. In terms of things that could do with improvement: Cleanliness The room floor was very dirty and could have benefited from an additional vacuum. Initially I put this down to arriving on New Year’s Day and then having a lot of people check out that day, but the whole hotel appeared a little bit grubby on closer inspection. The spa pool was exceptionally dirty. The floor coming out of the changing room covered in hair and general dirt. The showers looked like they hadn’t had a good scrub in months, with yellow build up all over the floor and walls. Not what you expect from a spa! To top it off after swimming I have contracted the Norovirus. Service Our first encounter with the reception staff was great the lady very welcoming and friendly. We met the cleaner as well who was also lovely. The rest of the staff we encountered were not so great. Either rude or disinterested, I get that it might not be your dream job but service with a smile goes a long way. Facilities The hot water takes a while to come through at busier times, this is signposted in the room. However, the water does not get very water at all. It does come through at a pleasant temperature, but not great if you like a bath or shower on the warmer side. There are three times a day when you can go swimming with children. It would be great if these times were restricted to children/families only, as there were quite a few adults sitting around the poolside and in the hot tub. Breakfast was ok, but a lot of the time left uncovered. Overall not a great stay and would be unlikely to stay again.

Anniversary away break. Location on edge of Chester close to motorway. Nice grounds, busy carpark and popular venue for parties and business guests. Carpet on second floor dirty and smells. Sink kept blocking because plug holes full of scum. Toilet seat incorrect size and not secured properly. Bed comfortable, nice towels tea and instant coffee and bottles of water in room. Breakfast nice selection BUT no fresh decaffeinated coffee only instant granules yuk!!! Nothing worse than awful coffee!!! With so many decent decaffeinated options available and customers not drinking caffeine this is totally unacceptable.

L'hotel è in una posizione molto vicina ai bar e ristoranti 👌 facile da trovare .La stanza era molto piccola e non aveva un asciugacapelli, abbiamo chiesto una a ricezione, hanno detto che potrebbero portarci asciugacapelli ma mai! L'isolamento nelle stanze è molto cattivo, potrebbe essere qui tutti da stanze accanto a noi .
