There is a lot to like about the Hilton Whistler. The location is excellent, the amenities are very good, and our room was spacious and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchenette. Strangely, there were no pots or saucepans, which made the kitchenette somewhat less useful, but that was hardly a major problem.
More concerning was finding several empty vodka bottles left inside one of the kitchen cabinets. We reported this to the front desk. It certainly makes you wonder how thoroughly the room was inspected between guests.
Parking is another frustration. It costs $37 per night, yet signage in the garage prominently states that the owner and management assume no liability for loss or damage. Most of the readily available spaces also seemed designed for small vehicles, while many regular-sized spaces were reserved or difficult to find. Charging nearly $40 a night for parking while simultaneously reminding guests that the security of their vehicle is entirely their problem is not particularly reassuring.
Check-in brought another unexpected inconvenience. The security deposit required a physical credit card. I normally carry only my phone and use Apple Pay, so I had to use my partner’s card, which was not what we intended. When I asked what would happen if neither of us had a physical card, I was told they would “find a way.” If there is another way, perhaps it should simply be available without putting guests through the inconvenience first.
But the detail that left the worst impression was, remarkably, bottled water.
Two bottles were left in the room with a large Hilton Honors tag stating that Diamond, Gold and Silver members receive them free, while “All Other Guests” are charged $3.50 per bottle.
I understand loyalty programs. I understand providing upgraded rooms, breakfast, lounge access or other perks to frequent guests. But making complimentary drinking water a status benefit at a hotel in this price category feels embarrassingly cheap. It is not about the $3.50. A bottle of water is hardly going to ruin anyone’s vacation. It is the principle, and especially the way it is presented. There is something distinctly unwelcoming about putting two bottles of water in front of a guest and attaching a sign that essentially says, “free for them, $3.50 for you.”
Hospitality should make people feel welcome. There must surely be better ways of recognizing loyal Hilton guests than creating a miniature class system around two bottles of water.
Finally, at checkout, the same front desk employee who had checked us in asked how our stay had been. I answered, “Mixed feelings.” I would have thought that was a fairly obvious invitation to ask what had gone wrong. Instead, there was no follow-up question, no “I’m sorry to hear that,” not even the usual courtesy response. The conversation simply ended. Oddly enough, that probably summed up the experience better than anything else.
Whistler itself was beautiful as always, and the Hilton has genuinely strong qualities. The spacious room, location and amenities were all very good. But a collection of small, avoidable issues, particularly housekeeping and the rather nickel-and-dime approach to hospitality, kept what could have been an excellent stay from feeling like one.

Location is great. Lots of cafe and restaurants nearby. Aritzia is a short 6 min walk away.
Service was warm and professional. Valet service was just ~$10 more compared to regular parking so it was worth it.
Had to enter the hotel via the back entrance with our car. Staff approached immediately and helped us unload our bags and check in.
I ordered an in room dining service for breakfast. Food arrived about 15 min early, which worked out well for me. Food tasted great~

Appreciated the rubber duckies. I thought that'sa nice touch.
Cons:
No trash bags. So trash cans looked dirty and stained.
Lighting is extremely dim. Lucky that it was sunny when I stayed and there's lots of big windows so that helped.
The room seem a bit empty. Things are located at inconvenient spots. No chair or table by the bathtub. Though there's a tiny rolling cart so that's good.
Wish they provided some sort of pillow or cushion for the bath. But I understand that may not be the most sanitary. There were plenty of towels so I used that as a cushion for my neck.
No place to put stuff down in the second bathroom.
There is only one mirror and it's in the bathroom inside the master bedroom. Seems a bit inconvenient. For such a big space, I feel it's too empty.
Overall stay was still great. Loved the balcony, the bathtub, the service, the food, and especially the location.

UUtente ospiteThis is a good hotel . There was a little difficulty during our stay that was not hotels fault. The management professionally dealt with it. We were last minute guests for the staff?, after leaving a very ‘’poor’’ hotel very quickly. Friendly, atmosphere, if I am next in Victoria ?, the VIC will be where we will stay, , easy 5 minute drive. 1mile from downtown.

Sharon the front desk was extremely helpful to locate my reservation . Trip.com gotten my reservation thr agoda and
Sharon spent fair bit of time to trace my agoda booking number. As trip.com booking number is not found in trip.com.
Sharon worked extra hour to trace my booking to avoid me to make any payment as couldnt locate trip.com booking.
Overall, my stay was plesant and shittle service is good and prompt.

LLilliSLa stanza era comoda, ero accanto alla lavanderia/manutenzione e ho notato qualche rumore durante il giorno, ma non nelle notti o nelle notti, non mi ha mai disturbato. La mia stanza era vicino al tubo caldo e ho sentito delle buone volte, ma non mi ha disturbato e era tranquilla al letto. Vaffle, uova, patate, bacon, salsa, avena, cereali, yogurt, mele, pompelmo, arance, muffin, bacon, e vari pani e biscotti. I cibi caldi sono alternati, così tante opzioni, è stato fantastico e a volte fatto per lente mattine. Il personale del colazione era benvenuto, grande al magazzino e al ricevimento.Le mattine erano molto piacevoli.
La fermata del bus era vicina e il desk front dava i biglietti per l'autobus quando le ho chiesto. Inoltre c'era un servizio di navetta gratuito nel centro, all'Hotel Regent, solo una richiesta dopo le 17:30.
Il personale era amichevole, le camere erano pulite, la mia camera e il mio letto erano confortevoli, e avevo un buon soggiorno, anche se non era nel centro e non avevo una macchina.
Denny's, McDonald's, Tim Hortons e a&w sono a piedi. Buona posizione e soggiorno confortevole.

WWonjae JangThe room is clean and well-maintained. Very good buffet breakfast included. The staff is nice and friendly. The location is great near the airport, the shuttle bus service is awesome, there are Costco just across the street and it locates just walking-distance to Sky Train station.
