Indonesia: hotel con bar nella provincia di Giava Orientale

Great place, well maintained, with swimming pools, its own rice paddies!, marvelous service. We've been here for one night, but had to regret our plan did not let us stay longer. Our objective was to trek Ijen, which is just 30 minutes away from here. The frontdesk can help you with the driver, the health check, tickets and supplying breakfast in a box. However, there is much more on site and around to make a longer stay enjoyable.

Il centro commerciale al piano inferiore è molto comodo e si può persino fare shopping da Pop Mart e acquistare Labubu (un popolare articolo di moda per bambini). È stato probabilmente l'hotel più economico e al tempo stesso più soddisfacente in cui ho soggiornato durante tutto il mio viaggio in Indonesia. Ci tornerò sicuramente.

Baobab Safari Resort is located quite far from Surabaya city centre, but it is definitely worth the approximately 1-hour drive from Surabaya Airport. We booked two connecting rooms, both with balconies. We were assigned to Level 4, and the view was absolutely magnificent, overlooking Mount Arjuno and Mount Welirang. Waking up to the mountain scenery was truly refreshing. Cooling weather, fresh air and beautiful scenery. Food Experience The highlight of the meals was the Nasi Rawon. The beef was very tender—soft and melt-in-the-mouth—and the soup was rich and flavourful. The portion size was generous. Other food items were acceptable but nothing particularly outstanding. For breakfast, however, the buffet spread was rather limited, especially in terms of meat and protein options. Room & Amenities The room itself looked decent but slightly dated. That said, the beautiful view more than compensated for it. One important note: do stock up on your own bottled water before arriving. The hotel uses refillable glass bottles, and unfortunately, the wooden covers of the glass containers appeared very mouldy, which was quite off-putting. Activities & Environment There are plenty of activities available. A walk through the Enchanted Forest thats full of pine trees and feeding area for Capybara, Lama, Sheep is possible, though you’ll need to take a buggy from another area. The Safari Zoo is located separately but can be arranged by the hotel. Animals around the hotel can be fed according to scheduled timings. Waterbucks, however, can be fed with carrots 🥕, which were provided by the hotel on the day of check-in. The lobby and dining areas were a standout—beautifully designed and facing the roaming animals while still maintaining a safe boundary within their designated area. Animal Welfare I have always been quite sceptical about zoo animals in Indonesia due to past negative experiences, where animal welfare did not seem well cared for. However, Baobab Safari Resort truly changed my perspective. The environment is clean, the animals appear well fed, and I frequently saw zookeepers actively present in the animal areas, feeding hay and grass to the zebras, waterbucks, buffaloes, and giraffes. It was reassuring and heartening to see such care and commitment. This experience made me believe that proper education and responsible management really do help build a better environment for zoo animals. Overall, it was a meaningful and memorable stay for my family.

This is my second time here. The staff are genuinely nice and will greet you every single time. I had an issue with the aircon not being cold enough. The technician, front desk are all very patient and attentive to my request. Reaction was quick and I also had a room change. The room is very spacious with a great view of the city. Amenities aplenty and will cater to your needs. I had a good three nights rest and a wonderful stay here. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Abbiamo soggiornato al Grand Mercure Malang Mirama per la nostra luna di miele per 3 notti e 4 giorni e, onestamente, è stata una delle migliori esperienze alberghiere che abbiamo mai avuto. Mia moglie ha adorato tutto di questo hotel, e anch'io. Fin dal nostro arrivo, l'ospitalità è stata eccezionale. Siamo stati accolti da Wike alla reception, che ha reso il nostro soggiorno davvero speciale. È stata sempre sorridente, rispettosa, gentile e molto disponibile durante tutto il nostro soggiorno. Ci ha persino offerto attività e buoni gratuiti, un gesto davvero apprezzato. La sorpresa più grande è stata l'upgrade alla Executive Suite, la categoria di camera più lussuosa dell'hotel. Un enorme grazie a Wike per aver reso la nostra luna di miele indimenticabile! La camera in sé era incredibile. Vista mozzafiato, un ampio soggiorno, camera da letto separata e un bagno fantastico con vasca affacciata sul panorama. Tutto era lussuoso e molto confortevole. Dato che era la nostra luna di miele, la camera era anche splendidamente decorata e siamo stati accolti con un cesto di frutta, che ci ha fatto sentire davvero speciali. Anche la colazione è stata un punto forte. La varietà era incredibile, c'erano così tante opzioni che onestamente non sapevamo cosa scegliere. Tutto ciò che abbiamo assaggiato era delizioso. Una cosa che ci ha davvero colpito è stato il personale. Ho viaggiato molto, ma il servizio qui era diverso. Ogni singolo membro dello staff che abbiamo incontrato sorrideva, ci salutava calorosamente, si accertava che tutto andasse bene e ci aiutava immediatamente quando necessario. Si percepisce davvero la genuina ospitalità. Abbiamo anche ricevuto un servizio fotografico gratuito dall'hotel, un'esperienza davvero piacevole. Il fotografo era bravissimo e ci hanno persino regalato una foto stampata e incorniciata da portare a casa come ricordo. L'unica nota dolente del nostro soggiorno è stata l'esperienza Teppanyaki al ristorante giapponese. Purtroppo, non ha soddisfatto affatto le nostre aspettative. La chef si è limitata a cucinare davanti a noi senza alcuna interazione o intrattenimento, e quando ho provato a conversare, sembrava infastidita. Considerando il prezzo, è stata un'esperienza davvero deludente. Personalmente, non consiglierei l'esperienza Teppanyaki in questo ristorante. A parte questo, tutto il resto è stato davvero fantastico. Anche se non ricordo i nomi di tutti, grazie a ogni singolo membro dello staff che ha reso la nostra luna di miele così memorabile. Abbiamo adorato il nostro soggiorno e torneremo sicuramente. E ancora una volta, un ringraziamento speciale a Wike, sei una star! ⭐

Banyuwangi truly is the ultimate ”sanctuary of stillness,” and ÉL Hotel Banyuwangi provides a beautiful, serene backdrop to experience it. I had a wonderful stay overall, and while there are a few areas where the hotel can step up its game, the foundation is absolutely there for this to become an exceptional property. 🏨 The Hardware & Facilities (Top-Notch!) On the physical side of things, the hotel completely delivers. The rooms are comfortable and well-designed, the gym is well-equipped for a holiday workout, and the swimming pool area is beautiful—perfect for soaking in the quiet energy of the region. 🍳 Food & A Soothing Morning Ritual The culinary experience was a highlight. The food quality was solid, and the local flavors were genuinely delicious. But my absolute favorite part of the morning was the outdoor breakfast area, where they offer fish feeding. Watching the fish move gracefully through the water while enjoying breakfast was incredibly calming and set a beautiful, soothing tone for the day. 🌱 Areas for Growth: Service & Sustainability To truly elevate this hotel to a 5-star luxury standard, there are two areas I’d love to see improve: Eco-Friendly Amenities: In a pristine destination like Banyuwangi, sustainability matters. Currently, the hotel is still using single-use plastic containers for bathroom amenities. Shifting toward refillable dispensers or biodegradable alternatives would align beautifully with the natural essence of the area. Staff Guidance: The young team members have incredible potential and are clearly eager, but they just need a bit more structured guidance and hospitality training. With the right leadership, this passionate young staff could easily turn good service into an exceptional guest experience. 🗺️ The Verdict Overall, I will absolutely come back! There is so much promise here, and I have high hopes that the team will take this constructive feedback to heart and continue to polish their service. The hotel has elegant environment and super clean. I chose this hotel because of its strategic location to several nearby venues. The room provided was also very modern and new (I love the aromatic soap fragrance here). But a little critique for them, we had to wait like an hour before we could check in. They said that they need to clean the room, but actually we checked in at 4 p.m. which is quite long from the previous person's check-out time. I think they could manage their service better in the future. Notes: There is no swimming pool available, please consider this before book here if you travel with family members who like to swim or so on.

This is actually a VERY COOL hotel. As someone who LOVE vintage things, I really appriciate this place. From their historical front building, their vintage styled room, all took me back to the 90s to early 2000. The NOSTALGIA 🥺. When I was little, my grandpa and grandma used to take me travel and stayed at hotels. So hotels like these have a special place in my heart. Unfortunately, it looked like they really cut down the budget. Although they gave a very cheap price for their room (not more than IDR 250K including breakfast), on WEEKENDS?? But the towels were not white anymore and felt thin (not like other hotel towels), the sheets had tough spots, and no shower cap. But I loveddd the lemongrass soap and shampoo, and they were in dispensers so less plastic waste. The breakfast was really sad. It was nice when I stayed here around a couple of years ago. But this time it was worse. Not too many options and looked empty. Really felt like they didn't put much effort. Well, what do you expect for that price? And I understand they might be in a very tight budget. I noticed they added a ”Mini Zoo” signage. A staff warned me that there were not many animals yet. But I decided to go see it. Turned out it was located in the side of the parking road (but outdoor), there were fishes and a big avian animal (like chicken but different, I don't know what it was). And some parakeets in two separate cages, they were all dead 😭😭 I told a staff and they quickly removed the dead birds. Good idea but poor execution. But anyways, location was top. Just a few meters across the street, there was a bus stop and you can hop on the Suroboyo Bus to go anywhere. And the hotel itself was in a main street of a hot destination (Old Town Surabaya), with historical buildings complex, also with the chinatown nearby. I really hope they can survive this economy storm. I really love this hotel 🥺.

1. Il resort è molto situato nel mezzo di nessuno, sembra in una proprietà abbandonata. E' così lontano da qualsiasi negozio, caffè o ristorante locale; troppo lontano da camminare da qualsiasi luogo. 2. Design fantastico ma inefficiente: l'impressionante ricevimento non giustifica un enorme spreco di tempo da parte degli ospiti. Devono catturare due ascensori e camminare a distanza equa prima di raggiungere la loro stanza. Penso che si possa perdere in nessun momento. The architects do not consider a simpler ways for the sake of guest’ convenience, say by having additional lifts ioat the end of corridors to reduce walking distances. 3. I pasti di servizio in camera sono piuttosto orribili, un modo inferiore a cinque stelle standard anche è disponibile in 24 ore. 4. Un bar al tetto potrebbe essere un bonus per gli ospiti rilassanti per godere di una vista sulle montagne/città, non come la mia camera con un balcone, affrontando un giardino disinteressante per due giorni di soggiorno. 5. Il lato positivo, la mia camera è ben rappresentata e corrisponde a un standard e strutture di cinque stelle. Buona camera di dimensioni con un comodo letto re. 6. Preferirei stare al Hotel Tugu in Malang con un personale amichevole, soprattutto al momento del colazione, nemmeno gli ascensori previsti per andare al secondo piano.
