I can not believe this place has good reviews on TripAdvisor, they must be fake or paid for reviews. I just had 2 night here at Kep and chose Mealea based on positive reviews and the photos. Well what a dump. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It’s not a resort, it’s no better than a 1970s hostel ( even hostels today are better). It was dirty, old, poorly maintained. The room smelt of mould and sewerage and was so unkept. The linen was dirty and had holes in it. The mattress was old and vile and had no mattress protector ( I slept on the bed in shorts and T-shirt). The towels stunk of mould and were threadbare and 1 had a huge hole in the middle. The bathroom was vile and the floor was some type of painted clay and was always wet and stunk of mildew. I showered in flip flops and this is the 1st time I do this in a hotel ever. The pool was so dirty and slimy around the edge and the sun loungers were filthy (it would take 5 minutes to clean the lounges but nobody seems to care at this place). The breakfast served up the oiliest eggs I have ever seen and the bottom of the eggs were covered in black crap off the frying pan. The staff were unprofessional and at 06:45 each morning arrived to work and were chatting so loud it woke me up and I asked them to be quieter. They were yelling across the gardens to each other as they cleaned the bungalows and had no regard for guest peace and quiet. Very unprofessional behaviour. Nobody was available at check in and the guard took 5 minutes to find staff to help me. Same at the cafe, the staff were never there and you had to go look for the. They all seemed to congregate in a bungalow at the top of the garden for chat sessions. Overal, this place is the pits and do not ever stay here. The booking sites list it as 3 stars resort but it is zero stars and it shouldered removed from the major booking search engines in my opinion.

We stayed at the Vakara for 7 nights during our visit to Kep. The hotel is new and modern and the rooms are very large as is the bathroom. The gym is very well equipped and probably the best one we have used on our travels. The breakfast was a la carte which was very nice and plentiful. We also had a few lunches and dinners at the hotel which were also very good. The staff were excellent and a special mention to Suphat who was running operations and dropped us to Kep beach, the Kep National Park and to the pharmacy to pick up some medication, most helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated about a mile from the nearest beach or slightly further away from Kep beach but this is only a short tuktuk ride or a pleasant walk to reach. This is a large modern hotel with all the mod cons and would definitely recommend.

This place is divine. Very small (I think only 8 rooms) and no it’s not on the waterside (but that’s a good thing). This place is about a 15 min walk to the crab market, 10 min to the national park, 10 min walk to sailing club … note there is no “town” as such so don’t look for being “in town”. For westerners there is no 711 or shopping street. It’s just one big food stalls and hammocks. But Tara lodge is unique. Beautiful pool, huge rooms, amazing restaurant and the staff (Jim especially) cannot do enough for you. We were here for 2 nights and we were the only guests (Cambodian election). We are in our 60’s from Australia and we walked 8km or more around Kep national park. There is a “convenience” store at end of the street which sells everything but the wine and beer at the hotel was great. Food was divine. The chocolate fondue… don’t share! 😀

Маленький деревянный домик со своим туалетом. Окон нет. Постельное белье и полотенца с пятнами. Нет сиденья для унитаза. Лейка душа только сверху, не очень удобно. Приятный хозяин и быстрое заселение, расположение недалеко от крабового рынка и магазина. В целом нормальный вариант за свои деньги.

Che soggiorno! È arrivato il sabato, sulla spiaggia di Kep, così la spiaggia era piena di famiglie che godevano di un picnic e di un giorno sulla spiaggia. Arrivato, abbiamo avuto una stanza accanto alla piscina. La stanza stessa era come per le foto online e molto spaziosa.. L'unico lato inferiore era la mattress più dura che sono talvolta inevitabili in SE Asia. Data la qualità dell'acqua lungo la spiaggia, sembrava un po' colpita e mancava di essere bello scorrere in piscina, guardando la strada verso e da sotto. Il personale è stato molto utile, e il gestore europeo ha anche compiuto alcuni passi per cercare di essere più sostenibili, come ad esempio un raffreddamento idrico vicino alla ricezione per riempire acqua con un bellissimo gilet nella vostra stanza, e la piscina è acqua salata. Non ci sono bottiglia o bottiglie di plastica nel ristorante. Mangiavamo nel ristorante e era molto delizioso e di buona qualità, vale la pena che è circa standard per Kep. Anche il colazione era molto buono e selezionato da un menu. Le uova sono deliziose e la baguette morbide.Sarebbe certamente rimasto qui quando visita Kep.
