Abbiamo trascorso un soggiorno meraviglioso. Il proprietario è incredibilmente gentile e accogliente, e ogni mattina trovava un cesto di frutta fresca preparato per gli ospiti, un gesto davvero premuroso. 🍎
La posizione è eccellente e molto comoda per esplorare la zona. Ciò che ha reso l'esperienza ancora più speciale è stato soggiornare in una casa tradizionale in stile Suzhou: un'atmosfera autentica e unica.
C'è anche una deliziosa terrazza sul tetto dove ci si può sedere e godere del panorama, che è stata una delle parti più belle del soggiorno. 🌿
Si prega di notare che, a causa dell'architettura tradizionale, alcune parti della casa hanno soffitti bassi. Gli ospiti di altezza pari o superiore a 180 cm potrebbero dover fare un po' più di attenzione quando camminano.

Questo hotel è esattamente come le altre recensioni: vecchio, scarsa insonorizzazione, letti duri, ma in una posizione davvero ottima. Tuttavia, la camera che ho prenotato era troppo rumorosa: credo fosse vicino alla strada perché sentivo la gente gridare a tarda notte e al mattino. Li sentivo fin troppo bene, anche se non c'era una finestra in camera. Era così brutto che ho chiesto di cambiare camera. Fortunatamente ci hanno dato un upgrade gratuito in un'altra stanza. Questa era al secondo piano, finalmente potevo dormire e riposare un po' in pace, ma se qualcuno passava a parlare, potevo comunque sentirlo. Almeno non passava molta gente. Il resto è ok, come potete vedere dalle foto. I letti potrebbero essere più morbidi per un hotel, ma per il prezzo che ho pagato, non mi lamento. L'hotel è inizialmente difficile da trovare perché l'ingresso è in una piccola viuzza, ma è situato in una posizione comoda vicino alle vie Dongguan e Pishi, così come ai giardini Ge e Ho (circa 20 minuti a piedi ciascuno).

L'acqua sarà sovrafluita dal cubico dopo la doccia. Solo tazze di carta saranno fornite incapaci di fare bevande calde. La posizione è grande vicino al Metro, ma la mancanza di segnalazione rende difficile trovare il posto per la prima volta e perso nonostante il GPS ci ha detto che siamo arrivati.

Ho trascorso un soggiorno fantastico in questo ostello! La mia camera era minuscola ma molto confortevole, perfetta per la privacy e un buon riposo notturno. I servizi igienici in comune erano ben tenuti, puliti e comodi. L'atmosfera generale era accogliente, rendendolo un'ottima base per esplorare Suzhou (anche la posizione è ottima). Lo consiglio vivamente a chi viaggia da solo e cerca un soggiorno accogliente e conveniente!

L'esperienza di soggiorno è buona. La concentrazione del traffico è molto conveniente. Le strutture interne sono complete. Il dispositivo di proiezione interno è molto buono. Le strutture di proiezione dell'hotel che abitavano in passato sono molto difficili da regolare lo schermo. Ma questa apertura è OK. Non è stato possibile uscire con esso per vedere due film 🎬 Bene!Ricorda di avere un servizio clienti autorizzato Vip per vedere Wi-Fi gratuitamente presto.

La mia prima scelta per un viaggio a Nanchino! L'hotel Chengxian mi ha davvero conquistato. 🏨
La posizione è fantastica: Chengxian Street è a pochi passi dal Tempio Jiming e dal Lago Xuanwu, super comoda sia durante la stagione dei ciliegi in fiore che per le visite turistiche di tutti i giorni. Le camere sono ben illuminate e pulite, offrendo un soggiorno confortevole e perfetto per le foto.
Le ragazze alla reception sono super cordiali e i loro consigli su cibo e itinerari sono stati perfetti, senza delusioni. Ci sono tantissimi ristoranti storici e locali autentici nei dintorni. Si occupa di tutto: cibo, alloggio e trasporti, lo consiglio vivamente!

SStanley The Travel ManI arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner. I didn’t and still don’t have an eSIM that can make local call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free. I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands. I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.
I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop to Suzhou which was my next destination.
This operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.
After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge . If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass. Do check with the owner for up to date information.
The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.
Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. . There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy. It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances.
The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.
This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.
I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.

SSouthafricangirl26I was initially asked by the hotel to leave a five-star review, but after my full stay I can’t do so in good conscience, and I have since adjusted my rating based on the second half of my booking.
This was a two-part stay (two separate bookings of five days each), and while there are genuinely strong positives, the overall experience was significantly affected by ongoing service and cleanliness issues.
There are still clear strengths to highlight. The location is excellent—quiet, safe, and surrounded by good restaurants, convenience stores, and a pleasant park nearby. The rooms are also very well designed: spacious, comfortable, and equipped with useful amenities such as a washing machine. The layout and overall setup make it a very livable space.
The staff were, for the most part, kind and helpful. One staff member in particular was consistently warm and welcoming. When issues were raised, the team did attempt to respond professionally, and I do appreciate that some solutions were offered, including a discounted rate for a future stay.
However, there were repeated concerns that affected my experience, particularly during the second half of my stay.
Cleanliness remained a consistent issue. Even after rooms were serviced, dust accumulated very quickly—so much so that items like my laptop would be visibly covered overnight. This raises concerns about the overall level of cleanliness and ventilation. In addition, housekeeping services felt inconsistent. On multiple occasions I had to specifically request basic essentials such as bottled water and fresh towels, rather than these being proactively restocked daily as would normally be expected in this type of accommodation.
Service consistency also varied. Some days staff would check in or ask whether I needed room cleaning, while on other days there was no such follow-up at all. This lack of routine made the experience feel unpredictable for a stay of this length.
There were also concerns regarding pricing and communication during an attempted extension of my stay. I had initially paid approximately 268 rand per night (already at a discounted rate). When I asked to extend for one additional night during the May Day holiday period, I was quoted around 800 rand. While I understand that rates fluctuate during peak demand, this felt inconsistent given the earlier discount offered due to the significant issues experienced in the first rooms. The handling of this request also felt quite rigid initially, although the pricing discussion changed once I indicated I would be leaving a review. By that point, however, I had already made alternative arrangements in another city.
I also noticed a change in overall tone and attentiveness from staff following my initial complaints, particularly on the day I was trying to extend my stay. In that instance, even basic housekeeping services were not offered, which contributed to a feeling of inconsistency in service.
Ultimately, I think this hotel has strong potential. The location, room design, and general setup are genuinely excellent, and there are staff members who are clearly committed and welcoming. However, the inconsistency in cleanliness standards, basic housekeeping expectations, and service delivery means I cannot recommend it as a reliably high-quality stay at this stage.
With more consistent attention to cleanliness and service fundamentals, this could be an excellent hotel experience—but in its current state, it falls short of that standard.

La hall ha una lampada a forma di luna che è molto bella di sera.
Nella hall, la zona pranzo e l'area di lavoro sono rigorosamente separate e non si disturbano a vicenda. È molto tranquillo, ma non solitario.
Se non hai voglia di usare dispositivi elettronici e preferisci leggere un libro, puoi sederti o sdraiarti comodamente sui divani morbidi della libreria centrale del salone.
C'è un piccolo giardino pensile sul tetto all'aperto. Con le sue colonne romane, è perfetto per scattare foto. Quando arriverà la primavera e i fiori sbocceranno, sarà ancora più bello.
Dal tetto si possono ammirare le luci del Bailu Park, uno spettacolo incantevole.

The hotel is near Dongliu Station, but you need to walk about 3 blocks (15 minutes). The walk is flat, but in July and August it can get very hot, so bring an umbrella. The area is quiet and feels isolated. Although the hotel is not far from Nanjing University Xianlin Campus, there is no direct train, you need to change lines and make an awkward turn. Shared bikes (Hello blue bikes) are convenient in Xianlin, but not around this hotel. A good option is to take the B3 shuttle bus from Sanyang Road, which goes to Nanjing University train station (walking distance to NJU). Around the hotel, you will find small eateries (like chicken and duck rice shops) and a few convenience stores, but no malls.
Cleanliness
The rooms are clean, but there is a smoke smell that stays for about a day. The staff suggested opening the window and using the aircon, but I also bought a reed diffuser from Miniso to make it smell fresher. Bedsheets were changed regularly (every 5 days). The toilet slippers looked dirty, so I did not use them. Also, the hotel does not provide floor towels.
Staff & Service
The staff were very kind and helpful. They upgraded me to a bigger double room with a sofa and work area, and also gave me a cheaper rate since I stayed for 40 nights. Cleaning staff came daily, bringing bottled water and keeping the toilet clean. The night-shift counter staff were also helpful.
Facilities
There is a washing machine that can wash and dry in one cycle. Do not overload it, or clothes won’t dry properly. Since the hotel is not very busy, I could use the machine anytime without queuing. Rooms have a hair dryer and a lighted mirror. The aircon makes a small dripping sound, but it is not a real problem.
Noise
The soundproofing is generally okay, but occasionally you can hear people talking loudly if there are guests next door. It’s not the hotel’s fault—just that people in China often speak very loudly, even inside their rooms or in the corridor. Nothing much you can do about it.
Surroundings & Safety
The area is safe, with big roads and many residential apartments. In the evenings, families with kids and dogs walk around, and I also jogged nearby. Food delivery is easy drivers can bring food to your room or the counter.
Overall
It is a quiet and safe place to stay, with helpful staff and decent facilities. The location is not very convenient for NJU Xianlin Campus, but manageable if you use the shuttle bus.

AAstrxdRagazze internazionali, questo posto è meraviglioso!Sono un straniero e non hanno avuto problemi a mostrarmi intorno all'ostello. Un posto così confortevole, si sentiva più come un salone e un dormitorio che un ostello, ci sono così tanti specchi con illuminazione per sedersi e fare il maquillaggio e gonfiare i capelli, hanno anche sacchi o tasche di tè e bollette di riscaldamento per le tue crampe. Il personale è molto amichevole e dolce, non riesco a capire come usare l'app per lavarmi i vestiti, quindi una delle ragazze del desktop ha appena pagato per me. Il capo invia frutta ogni giorno per tutte le ragazze, tutti condividono cibo dalle avventure del giorno, caricando porti ovunque, giocando sul grande schermo della sala da pranzo, un muro pieno di note, un frigo facile da condividere. Molti ristoranti vicino alla porta e negozi di caffè carini, quasi qualsiasi cibo che si potrebbe immaginare ci sarebbe un ristorante che lo vendesse molto vicino. Molte ragazze si sono anche raffreddate con la loro consegna nella sala da pranzo, che è stato anche molto conveniente perché hanno un cave fuori per gli ordini di consegna, grande vibrazione. Sono anche grato che ti chiedono di non farti picchiare i capelli o lavarti i vestiti dopo mezzanotte, molto più facile da dormire. Ho incontrato un amico qui all'ostello, ho parlato fino a 1 a.m. nella comoda sala di soggiorno e poi ci siamo incontrati per viaggiare intorno a Hangzhou la prossima settimana. Un posto davvero bello per soggiornare!!

L'aria condizionata e il riscaldamento nella stanza facevano rumore quando venivano accesi. Consiglio di cambiare l'aria condizionata. Se venissi a viaggiare in estate, sarei un po' titubante nello scegliere questo hotel. Fortunatamente, ci siamo coordinati per cambiare stanza, ma il bagno nella nuova stanza è relativamente piccolo. Alcuni angoli del bagno non sono stati puliti adeguatamente. È ancora sopportabile. Furono forniti frutti. Anche il servizio è stato molto cordiale. Sono andato prima anche in un'altra filiale dell'Home Inn in Pingjiang Road.
