The experience at Tama Restaurant was even more disappointing. One of the male staff members was noticeably rude. We were presented with the bill even though we had not requested it, which felt dismissive and unwelcoming. Additionally, when my friend, who had just finished swimming, was told she could not sit because she was wet, no alternative solution was offered. No bathrobe, no towel, no assistance. She was effectively expected to stand while eating. When this was raised, there was no apology or sense of accountability. For the price charged, the level of service falls significantly short. Compared to other luxury properties such as Banyan Tree, where the staff are consistently warm and attentive, the difference in hospitality is very noticeable. Habitas has beautiful surroundings, but service is what defines a true luxury experience. Unfortunately, that standard was not met during our stay."

There were several issues during my stay. First, the balcony glass door could not be closed properly. I am quite sure the hotel was already aware of this issue, as their technician came and fixed it immediately without checking or asking any questions. However, I had to call twice before someone finally came. Secondly, the service quality does not match the price paid. The breakfast area is also very small. It was almost fully occupied, and the tables were placed extremely close to each other, which made the dining experience uncomfortable. In addition, while I understand that hotels require guests to check out on time, the way it was handled felt more like constant rushing. I received a call at 12:15 and another call at 12:55 to remind me to check out. If check-out time is strictly enforced, I would expect the same level of urgency for check-in as well. Lastly, there was inconsistency regarding the check-in time. My Trip.com booking confirmation clearly stated a 2:00 PM check-in, but the hotel informed me that check-in was only available at 3:00 PM.

I stayed at Novotel Yanbu and had an overall average experience. The rooms were okay (3/5) and met basic expectations. Cleanliness (2.5/5) and bathrooms (2.5/5) were slightly below average and could use better maintenance. There was a noticeable, unusual smell in both the rooms and the lobby, which did affect comfort at times. The location is the biggest advantage (8/10) — being close to the Corniche makes it ideal for night-time strolls and relaxing walks by the sea. Overall, the hotel is acceptable mainly because of its location, but improvements in cleanliness, bathroom upkeep, and odor control would make the stay more comfortable.

Staying in a caravan in the middle of a dessert with luxurious services is a totally unique experience. Even the caravan is not as big as a hotel room, but it’s very cosy and clean. The mattress is comfortable. You can also use the facilities, including the stunning swimming pool in the Our Habitas Hotel next to the Caravan. Make sure you go check them out.
