July 2025 will forever shimmer in our recollections as the month we traded routine for a resplendent tapestry of comfort and carefree laughter at the DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut Resort. Tucked away like a hidden jewel overlooking the Straits of Malacca, this haven unfurled a grand stage for our family adventure, and my, what an enchanting production it was.
Upon arrival, we were greeted not merely with the hotel’s signature warm cookie, but a generosity of spirit embodied by Haykal, whose attentiveness would put even the most seasoned concierge to shame. His deft touch secured us a splendid room upgrade, transforming our stay into something decidedly more opulent.
The resort’s pool was a veritable aquatic kingdom, shimmering in the July sun, and an instant magnet for the children, who splashed and frolicked as though auditioning for an Olympic synchronized swimming squad. Though the siren call of the beach beckoned, we heeded the staff’s cautionary tale of marauding jellyfish. It turns out, we didn’t miss a thing—so beguiling were the pools, we scarcely gave the sea another thought.
Breakfast each morning was a carnival of flavors, a sprawling buffet laden with enough options to make even the most decisive diner pause in awe. From delicate pastries to hearty local delicacies, it was a daily feast fit for emperors.
Yet, as with any grand experience, there were minor discordant notes amid the symphony. A persistent flotilla of flies occasionally intruded upon our peace, a reminder that paradise is never entirely without its quirks. Likewise, room service proved leisurely in pace, as if our meals were being prepared on a distant mountaintop before descending ceremoniously to our door. For those who prefer culinary expedience, Grab delivery is a welcome alternative—just be prepared to part with a few extra ringgit for the privilege.
Still, these were but tiny clouds in an otherwise brilliant sky. The staff’s warmth, the resort’s sprawling amenities, and the sheer joy on our children’s faces each day conspired to create an unforgettable family retreat.
If you seek a place where your spirit can unfurl, where your children’s laughter will echo across sunlit terraces, and where hospitality is more than a gesture but a genuine art, look no further than DoubleTree by Hilton Damai Laut. We departed with sun-kissed skin, full hearts, and an unspoken promise to return.

MMJ BuBuRegalodge Hotel Ipoh is an older hotel, and it shows—especially the lift and room fittings. The room has a bathtub, but you can tell the place has aged.
Breakfast was decent. I enjoyed the nasi lemak and they had a mix of local and western options, including pau and eggs. However, our request for boiled eggs was declined due to limited availability. The breakfast setup felt very old-school.
The plus side is free car park availability, which is great if you're driving around Ipoh. Not ideal for walking, but convenient for those with a car.

AAndyLTTStaying in Pangkor Laut Resort was truly memorable. The resort was well-maintained and beautifully landscaped. The combination of luxury and nature was what drew me to come here and spend a short weekend getaway. It offers a serene environment to relax on a private island and even take on a little adventure such as tracking through a rainforest.
Overall I find Pangkor Laut Resort, a great place to unwind, destress and enjoy nature.
If you are looking for extreme sports, crowds and a place to stimulate your senses, Pangkor Laut Resort is not for you. And that is why I love my stay here, nothing but a piece of paradise, calm surroundings and pampering oneself.

JJacqueline Wong Ka YingEveryone was very friendly and exceptional hospitality by the team. Will definitely recommend to our white people guests as we're also in the tourism industry in Penang.
Except for the dining Sidai restaurant service staff, bad attitude and even giving faces when chef kitchen asked them to prepare things missing. My husband is a hotel chef for 10 years so he knows how to operate a 5 star hotel. Didn't keep baby chair clean too, full of dirt (serious not like some dirt). Should be in SOP to wipe everyday, but luckily service crew help me wipe upon asking. Spot another couple brought baby too and they wipe themselves while GM kutuk them then they still watching customer wipe themselves without go in front and said I help to wipe, so hilarious 😆You're charging a lot for this resort, so I expect at least 4 star service.
Room cleanliness can be improved, especially bathroom. Dirt marks between tiles can be easily fixed by just putting tile grout then problem fixed. Room photo is different from the one listed on Agoda and Trip.com so there's a expectation vs reality scenario but I am okay with a smaller room, just that maybe others won't be happy.

JJoycelynService is tip top. Everyone is very polite and friendly from front desk to door men to f&b staff. However the room could be better. The water pressure is not strong enough and there's something wrong with the mixer tab because halfway through showering the water will turn cold. Another thing is the WiFi speed, it's too slow.

LLarMAn amazing experience all round. We weren’t enjoying Ipoh at all until our check in here. They had a lovely welcome for my girlfriend’s birthday. The facilities are all excellent. It feels like you’re in the jungle at times, monkeys to be seen and beautiful birds. The resort is big enough that it never felt crowded, and the food that we ate was perfect! The villa was comfortable and cleaned twice a day, while the hot tub is a lovely perk and the little pool.
Couldn’t recommend this enough as a getaway, where you wouldn’t have to leave until checkout.
The only thing I’d say, as an Irishman, is that I thought Jeff’s cellar might have had a better selection of Irish whiskeys. Would return happily.

UUtente anonimoSatisfying and the best choice to stay here. The staff here are very friendly, very helpful and customer friendly. The service here is very efficient and always our top choice. Highly recommend to those out there if they want a comfortable stay in Ipoh. Many halal and delicious restaurants and hotspots around this hotel. Close to highway PLUS access. It's fun and worth it.

NNicoleIt is a very lovely guest house with great atmosphere. Especially, I have to thank a staff who was on duty on 18th night shift sincerely. My grandmother was uncomfortable on that night, we were looking for pills to stop her stomach ache from the reception at around 3am in the midnight, the staff was very kind, he drove my sister to the nearest convenience store to get the pills and finally my grandmother felt better after that.

2. Water pressure is high for a satisfying shower.
3. The bed is comfortable for a good night's sleep.
4. There are ample parking at basement.
However, the lighting in room (except for bathroom) is too dim for reading.
