We read mixed reviews, but we had a pleasant time here and no complaints. Check-in was easy, not much English, but we got there. We parked by the room, which was great. We arrived late afternoon for 1 night, we swam in the pool, kids loved the slide, there was a lovely atmosphere. We slept really well, no noise, and had a lovely breakfast. If you expect a plush hotel, you'll be disappointed. If you are happy with basic with great service, you'll be happy. It's very central too.

Il viaggio è stato per la luna di miele, il personale è stato piacevole e utile. Il servizio di navetta è stato facile ed efficiente e il viaggio in città è stato meno di 5 minuti di distanza. Il club spiaggia che è stato attaccato all'hotel è a 6 minuti di distanza e la posizione migliore sulla spiaggia. Tutte le camere hanno una bella vista e sicuramente prenoterebbe di nuovo anche se non è giusto sulla spiaggia, perché tutto è a piedi e un taxi da distanza (pagammo 5$ dal centro della città al nostro hotel) Le camere erano pulite e l'unità AC ha tenuto la camera bella e fredda che è rinfrescante arrivando dall'umido aria. Certamente prenota di nuovo ... Pura Vida

In generale, questo posto ti dà le vibrazioni turistiche stereotipiche della spiaggia. Se sei in questo, è un buon buck-pen. Tuttavia, se stai cercando un'esperienza un po' più autentica Costa Rica, questo non è il posto. Persino il ristorante è ”Italiano”. Perche' avresti un falso ristorante italiano in un resort costaricano spiaggia è al di là di me. I Cons (che superano il pros): la pulizia della proprietà non era come si aspettavano né come le foto. I pavimenti esterni erano sporchi, soprattutto intorno alla piscina (che non era neanche pulita). Il jacuzzi era freddo. Le tessere del tetto erano rotte, sporche e avevano spazzatura in tutto (o stanza era sul secondo piano e aveva una vista frontale sul tetto). Il ristorante era inondato con voli durante il pranzo e la cena (i fan avrebbero potuto aiutare, ma erano solo decorativi). Non c'era niente di speciale sulla stanza che avevamo (302), aspettando per i tetti bello ricamati. Ha 2 camere, 2 bagni che erano bellissimi. Una camera aveva 2 letti matrimoniali e grande illuminazione, l'altra ha un letto lungo (illuminazione scarsa). Un piccolo biglietto, se ti piacciono le matite firme, questo è il posto per te! I letti erano duri e non facili da dormire con letti medi. Pro: La posizione era grande e le camere erano pulite, quindi è così che va per esso. Il desk era anche bello e il personale era amichevole.

The only thing I would change is the breakfast - it’s the same each day, has no meat and does not vary. The grounds are lovely and fun to explore, there are animals throughout the grounds wild, which means you have to watch out for droppings. The staff were wonderful, super helpful, very flexible - I loved their lending library of books and the suites are incredible for the price. The pool is nice, although as it’s in the middle of a flat windy area it is hard to keep it clean so are often leaves and petals across it - it’s also only 1m depth at the minimum making it hard for children to play in it and hard for it to get warm. We really enjoyed the quiet and solitude and being able to park the car outside our suite, which save walking with heavy bags - not much you could do here without a car though.

Grande luogo per stare e visitare! Abbiamo amato tutto su Hacienda Guachipelin. Il personale era fantastico, la piscina e il bar a fianco della piscina erano bellissimi, il colazione e i buffet erano terribili, e le strutture (bagni caldi, cascate, sentieri da cammino) erano spettacolari.

È un piccolo hotel, grande per le famiglie. Le camere sono di buona dimensione, molto pulita, la piscina è ben mantenuta, il colazione è sorprendente, tutti i membri del personale sono amichevoli e fanno tutto il possibile per assicurarsi che il vostro soggiorno sia piacevole. Cinque di noi, compresi i ragazzi, sono rimasti qui in gennaio e cinque di noi, con due figli, 8 e 10, sono rimasti qui in Feb. e tutti l'abbiamo amato. E' fuori dal sentiero battuto ma vicino alla strada principale e alla spiaggia. Il parcheggio gratuito è stato un'altra cosa, dato che avevamo noleggiato una macchina. Rimarremo a Dex Nord ogni volta che siamo a Tamarindo. Molto consigliato.

Don’t get me wrong. Costa Rica is beautiful! The locals are great! But this hotel is definitely not for couples. First of all, they have three swimming pools they advertise. Two of which are only 3 feet deep. That’s not gonna do any good for adults! Especially if you like to swim. They do have an adult only pool, which is very small and not free. If you wanna go to the adult pool, it’s $75 per person per day. Otherwise you’ll be content sitting at the 3 foot pool, listening to kids scream. Of course the beach is beautiful. We quickly learned if we wanted to be by water we had to go to the beach only. You do have to keep an eye on your belongings as the monkeys claim down from the trees and try to steal your stuff. Also a big note on this place is they do not hardly any American food. They mainly serve foreign food like Thai and Turkish. I didn’t see any local Costa Rican food serve there. I was excited to have beans and rice and didn’t see it on the menu. So the question is what I go back to this place ever again. That’s a big NO! But yes, I would definitely go to Costa Rica again!

El Mangroove is a nice resort! I visited with my two kids, 14 and 12, for two days. Pros: Free snorkel and bike rental. Food is decent not overpriced. Breakfast was the best meal for us. Room service offers the best value for food, especially the kids menu. The swimming area at the beach is very nice with calm water and a sandy bottom. Staff is very helpful. Sunsets are amazing. Rooms are nice! Cons: Pools are very shallow and kept too warm. The food, while not expensive, is just ok. Breakfast and room service are a great value, but the restaurant food for lunch and dinner is mediocre. Color: We had a good experience overall. We had a one bedroom king suite jungle view room, upgraded from a two queen room. Rollaway bed was provided for free and was comfortable. Climate control in the room was great. Double rainfall shower room was awesome. Bed was comfortable. We ate three meals on property, one at matiss, one at mall, and one room service. The room service food was better than the food at the restaurants, and more reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet was great (they also had a la carte items which we did not get), with a lot of options, an egg station and good coffee. We rode bikes on the beach to the restaurant hacienda blu which had VERY good food at prices comparable to El Mangroove. If you do this, order the whole fish. The ride was about 15 minutes. Note that you can only do this ride on the beach at lower tide times, and when the tide is low, you will need to use the road. We went snorkeling near the rocks that are about a 10 minute walk along the beach to the right as you face the water. We saw octopus, sea urchins, puffer fish, and several other smaller fish. We saw a good amount of wildlife on the property. Lots of birds, butterflies, iguanas, crabs, lizards, and amazing leaf cutter ants! There were a few minor issues with our stay - our room phone stopped working while I was placing a room service order, so I had to walk to the concierge to order room service, and then it took over an hour to come when we were promised half an hour, and finally the burger customizations for my son's burger were not done, so he could not eat the burger, but the room service food was the best of the non breakfast meals. The sunset on our second night was spectacular. I would stay at this resort again for 2-3 days if I came back, leaning heavily on room service and off property restaurants for food. The free activities, swimming area at the beach, nice rooms, good service, and incredible sunset make it a keeper.
