Title: Unforgivable service, ridiculous charges, and total lack of respect for guests. My stay at Kamenoi Hotel Kusatsu Yubatake was a complete disaster from start to finish. The level of unprofessionalism is astounding. 1. Intrusive Wake-Up Call: On the second day, we were jolted awake at 9:00 AM by a phone call from the front desk just to ”confirm” our dinner time. There is absolutely no excuse for disturbing a guest's sleep for such a trivial matter, especially when a simple note under the door or a message on the phone system would suffice. 2. Dinner Reservation Fiasco: We had a confirmed reservation for the 9:00 PM dinner slot. When we arrived at the restaurant on time, we were rudely told we only had 15 minutes left to eat because the restaurant was closing. Why offer a 9:00 PM slot if you intend to close 15 minutes later? Their excuse was that they ”tried to call” to move us to a 7:30 PM slot. This is a lie—we were in our room all day and never received any call or message. Their poor internal communication and lack of a reliable system ruined our evening. 3. Sneaky Late Check-Out Fee: The hotel failed to inform us of the checkout time or the fees for late checkout. We were just 15 minutes late (at 10:15 AM), and they charged us 3,000 yen on the spot. This predatory fee was not mentioned during check-in, nor was it clearly stated in any visible policy. It feels like a scam to squeeze more money out of guests. 4. Useless Luggage Storage: After checkout, we simply wanted to store our luggage for a few hours before leaving town. They told us we had to pick it up by 12:00 PM noon. What is the point of offering ”storage” if it is only for an hour or two? This is an inconvenience, not a service. Overall, this hotel is run by people who seem to care more about collecting fees than providing hospitality. I strongly advise against staying here. --- Japanese (日本語) 評価: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) タイトル: ありえないサービス、理不尽な追加料金、客を無視した対応。 草津湯畑にある亀の井ホテルに宿泊しましたが、最悪の体験でした。プロフェッショナル意識が全く感じられません。 1. 朝9時のモーニングコール: 2日目の朝、なんと午前9時にフロントから電話で起こされました。内容は「夕食の時間の確認」です。就寝中の客を、その程度の用事で起こす行為は論外です。ドアにメモを入れるか、内線電話にメッセージを残すなどの方法があるはずです。 2. 夕食予約のトラブル: 夜9時の夕食枠を予約していました。時間通りにレストランに行くと、「レストランは閉まるので、食べられるのはあと15分です」と言われました。夜9時からの枠を設定しているのに、なぜ15分後に閉店するのでしょうか？ 後で「7時半の枠に変更しようと電話したが繋がらなかった」と弁解されましたが、私たちは終日部屋にいたにもかかわらず、そのような電話は一切ありませんでした。内部の連携不足と杜撰な管理のせいで、夕食の時間が台無しになりました。 3. 説明のなかったレイトチェックアウト料金: チェックアウト時間や延長料金についての説明が一切ありませんでした。そのため、いわゆるチェックアウト時間（10時）を15分過ぎただけで、3,000円を請求されました。チェックイン時にも、明文化されたポリシーにも記載のない不当な料金です。客から金を搾り取るようなやり方にしか思えません。 4. 意味のない手荷物預かり: チェックアウト後、観光のため手荷物を預かってほしいとお願いしました。すると、正午12時までに取りに来るよう言われました。わずか1〜2時間のために預けるのに、わざわざ「12時まで」と制限する意味がわかりません。これはサービスではなく、単なる不便の押し付けです。 全体的に、このホテルは「おもてなし」よりも「料金徴収」を重視していると感じました。二度と泊まりません。 --- Chinese (中文) 评分: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) 标题: 毫无专业可言，乱收费，完全不尊重客人！ 我在草津湯畑的龜乃井酒店的住宿体验简直是一场灾难。酒店的服务水平和沟通方式令人难以置信地糟糕。 1. 早上9点的“叫醒服务”: 入住第二天早上9点整，前台竟然打电话到房间把我们吵醒，目的只是为了“确认晚餐时间”。为了这种小事打扰客人休息，简直不可理喻。明明可以留便条或通过客房电话留言，他们却选择了最扰民的方式。 2. 晚餐预约的闹剧: 我们提前预约了晚上9点的晚餐时段。当我们准时到达餐厅时，工作人员却告知我们餐厅即将关门，我们只剩下15分钟的用餐时间。既然只营业到9点15分，为什么要开放9点的预约？事后他们解释说“试图打电话通知将预约改到7点半”，但我们一整天都在房间里，根本没有接到任何电话或留言。这种内部协调失误和糟糕的沟通方式，彻底毁掉了我们的晚餐体验。 3. 未提前告知的延时退房费: 酒店在办理入住时完全没有告知退房时间，也没有说明延时退房的费用。我们只是晚了15分钟（所谓的10点退房时间刚过），就被当场收取了3000日元。这笔费用在入住时没有提及，也没有在任何明文规定中看到，完全属于隐形消费，感觉像在变相宰客。 4. 毫无意义的行李寄存: 退房后，我们想寄存行李以便在附近逛逛。酒店却告知我们必须在中午12点前回来取走。寄存行李本来就是为了方便客人，只让存一两个小时有什么意义？这根本不是提供服务，而是给客人制造麻烦。 总之，这家酒店的管理混乱，只顾着收钱，完全没有待客之道。强烈不推荐入住！

Stayed for 2 nights in early Dec 2024. Booked the mountain view twin room with cypress bath which comes with both dinner and breakfast. The ryokan styled hotel is located diagonally opposite from the shibukawa bus stop and about 5 mins walk (turn right from the hotel) to the Ikaho stone steps around the mid section of the steps. The hotel is old ryokan style but well maintained and does not see much wear and tear. The lobby which is on the 3rd floor (ground level) is big. No shoes allowed in the hotel, guests have to deposit their shoes at the entrance. Staff were all friendly and polite though not all can speak well in English. They do go much more to make you feel at home. Yutaka is provided at the lobby. My room which is located on the 4th floor corner is considered big. Old styled ryokan kind of design but with western bed. Though the room is laid with tatami on the floor but can still hear people walking if they area heavy or run. Corridor noise does filter in as well but muffled. Unblocked view of the mountain as the hotel sits on an elevated hill. I would recommend to stay with mountain view. The cypress bath can fit 2 person but takes a while to fill, I rather go to the public onsen. Besides the usual amenities, they even provide face wash, face moisturiser, etc in the room. Safe box is provided in the room as well. Wifi seems weak. No place in the bathroom however to hang your clothes or towel. There is an indoor onsen on the first floor and an outdoor one on the 8th floor. The onsen are gender separated. They rotate the male and female onsen on the first floor though both has the same look and facilities. The onsen on the 8th floor has a nice view of the city but no shower facilities. There is a massage chair on the first floor as well. Breakfast and dinner are served on the 2nd floor. I would not say that this is the best, but definitely delicious and sufficient. Check in at 3 pm and check out at 10am which I find a bit too early. Hope they can consider to extend. Overall I would recommend this place to stay if you are coming to ikaho.

Esperienza favolosa che ha confermato le nostre aspettative e abbiamo avuto la fortuna di viverla durante il foliage con dei colori pazzeschi Il personale, gentilissimo, ci ha fornito degli yucata stupendi che ci hanno permesso di immergerci pienamente nel fascino antico di questo ryokan. La nostra camera era angolare, veramente grande e con vista sul torrente fantastica. La cena e la colazione sono stati ottimi e con svariate pietanze presentate magnificamente. Hanno soddisfatto anche la mia richiesta di non mangiare pesce. Infine, immergerci nelle acque calde dell'onsen di notte è stato veramente magico. Consigliatissimo!

New hotel but upkeep not good . Onsen is excellent and restaurant dinner and breakfast is good . The major and most cannot accept part is my room heat system doesn’t work . The hotel only provides two small heater in the room. I am paying $100,000 yen for a private onsen room and outside tempos -9 degrees at night . You told me the heat doesn’t work , that’s a joke .

Il personale dell'hotel è stato molto bello e utile. Conveniente al centro di yukatake, molti ristoranti vicino. Ci sono altri 2 hotel sorelle che si può godere liberamente il Onsen.

& Vibes Rimasto in una stanza tradizionale tatami e così era giapponese in modo migliore – futon, odor tatami, tutta la fantasia ryokan. Super cosy, perfect if you’re here to soak, cool, and live your best onsen ‑town main ‑character life. Edilizia e impianti L'hotel dispone di tre isolati, tutti collegati attraverso l'edificio principale, quindi si passa sempre attraverso di esso. La maggior parte delle buone cose – fonti calde, buffet ecc. – è nell'edificio dell'allegato dove sono rimasto, quindi è stato davvero conveniente, solo nessuna vista Yubatake (che è solo per le principali camere di costruzione). Localizzazione & mini zona commerciale Essi hanno letteralmente la propria zona commerciale sul primo piano del palazzo principale, a destra di Yubatake e la calda strada primavera, in modo che si possa andare fuori dall'hotel a yukata e iniziare a navigare. Super facile da mangiare, negozio, poi saltare in mente senza sentirsi come se tu fossi “svenuto”. Trasporti e camminare in neve C'è un autobus per il più vicino fermo di trasporto pubblico, quindi i giorni di bagaglio sono facili. Puoi camminare in meno di 10 minuti, ma in stagione neve la strada diventa gelata e folle, quindi sinceramente non consigliata a meno che non ti fidi delle scarpe (e del tuo equilibrio). Personale e energia di servizio Il personale dell'hotel è fantastico – super amichevole e davvero proattivo. Oltre al giapponese e all'inglese, alcuni membri del personale parlano mandarino e si accenderanno a lui per aiutarvi a uscire, e anche offriranno di prendere foto per voi prima di avere la possibilità di chiedere, che è perfetto per i viaggiatori solitari o umili.

Servizio eccellente. Darei 10 su 5 se potessi. Un membro del personale è corso fuori e ci ha chiesto se avremmo soggiornato al Ryokan. Molto utile per i viaggiatori smarriti e sopraffatti dal freddo. Ci hanno accolto calorosamente al nostro arrivo. Ci hanno spiegato le informazioni importanti nel miglior modo possibile in inglese, il che è perfetto. La camera era spaziosa. Arredata meticolosamente in stile tradizionale giapponese. Yukata e Obi forniti hanno reso l'esperienza ancora più immersiva. La cena è stata squisita. I piatti ci hanno dato un assaggio della cucina tradizionale giapponese. Il cibo era genuino (non sembrava cibo surgelato/in scatola/preparato), servito e impiattato con cura. C'erano 2 onsen, uno interno e uno esterno. Erano puliti e abbastanza spaziosi. L'acqua (credo) provenga dalla vicina sorgente termale ed è immensamente terapeutica. Il Ryokan era vicino al cuore della città e tutto era raggiungibile a piedi. Ci hanno gentilmente accompagnato al terminal degli autobus al momento del check-out (non abbiamo dovuto aspettare orari fissi) e hanno trasportato i nostri bagagli (pesanti). Nel complesso, abbiamo apprezzato molto il nostro soggiorno di una notte e hanno fissato un livello elevato per l'ospitalità giapponese.

Il pavimento della sorgente termale era estremamente scivoloso e il mio compagno, che alloggiava con me, è caduto fratturandosi un braccio, il che ha richiesto un'ambulanza per il trasporto in ospedale. Non si è trattato di una semplice frattura, ma di una frattura esposta, il che significa che ci vorranno 3-4 mesi per una completa guarigione. Nonostante i cartelli che avvertono del pavimento scivoloso presso la sorgente termale, sembra che molte persone li ignorino. Forse pensano che sia normale che le sorgenti termali siano scivolose. Quello che vorrei dire alla struttura riguardo a questo incidente è che hanno l'obbligo di prendere precauzioni, non di lasciare la responsabilità agli ospiti. Se il pavimento è scivoloso, hanno l'obbligo di adottare misure per prevenire le cadute o almeno per renderlo meno scivoloso. Spero sinceramente che la struttura prenda sul serio questo incidente e apporti i dovuti miglioramenti.

A relax and nice view in Kusatsu. The hotel is located a bit far from bus terminal. However, there is a free shuttle bus service which connected with bus service. I strongly encourage the private onsen package where we can taste three different type of onsen in the hotel. My platinum ring changed colour, may be due to the acidity of onsen water😂. The dinner and breakfast inspired and it is good for family trip with a number of accessible service for elderly with physically limitations.

In generale l'hotel è stato ristrutturato, così ha strutture pulite e nuove. Tuttavia, alcuni oggetti come la TV sono date. Ha un grande parcheggio (gratuito) se si guida. Il cibo è pulito e moderno. Puoi usare il cibo della sorella dell'hotel proprio vicino alla porta. Caffè e pasticceria gratuitamente forniti nel pomeriggio. L'hotel offre anche un pannolino di stile Yukata e giapponese per gli ospiti. Sarebbe meglio se fornissero un cestino invece di una borsa di plastica per gli ospiti di portare le loro proprietà intorno al bagno.
