TIKI COFFEE

Ginza, Tokyo, December 2024 Gucchie’s Tiki Coffee Espresso Catering Service, or simply @tikicoffee on Instagram, is a kitchen car (as food trucks are known in Japan) operating out of a super cool 1976 VW Type 2 Volkswagen van. This roving coffee spot regularly parks at either the Tokyo International Forum or Aoyama Farmers Market. Run by a super friendly couple, their coffee is as thoughtfully crafted as their vintage setup. When I visited, the menu featured a Colombian Washed single origin, and it was exceptional, easily better than the options inside the International Forum. Smooth, easy to drink, and perfectly balanced with aroma, acidity, and bitterness.
