"The hotel location is excellent and very convenient. The room is also very spacious and comfortable. However, one thing we were slightly disappointed with was that our request for two extra bottles of water was declined by the front desk, as they mentioned only two bottles are provided per day. We’re not sure if this is a standard policy across hotels in Japan. Overall, we were still very satisfied with our stay."

"Charming onsen hotel located 5 min drive from Kaminoyama station. A shuttle pick up can be arranged with the hotel ahead of time available from 1430-1800. It’s a relatively dated property but well maintained. A small public onsen with a rotenburo, and a small private onsen within the room comfortable for two. The spring water through the property is the same. Meals provided are extensive, balanced and nutritious featuring local specialities like yam, Yamagata and Yonezawa beef. Drinks are offered at the lounge in the afternoon from 1700, morning coffee and tea available from 0800. Overall a comfortable and luxurious stay."

"The hotel itself is old but comfortable. The ownership has changed and the hospitality is very poor. I was at breakfast and was told that the restaurant will be closed at 9:30. I thought they meant that that the last order would be 9:30. The moment it was 9:30 they kicked us out. As I was having a business breakfast it was very rude."

"Mi piace l'hotel Richmond per la sua decorazione moderna e la sua proprietà ben mantenuta. Purtroppo, questa posizione in particolare non è più rispetto ai criteri più basilari di un hotel - la pulizia, soprattutto in Giappone. Il bagno ha trovato molle tra il tubo e il muro, nonché tra i sedili della finestra. La posizione dell'hotel è a circa 5 minuti a piedi dalla stazione Yamagata. Il personale era bello e ospite. Il pranzo e le bevande gratuite e la crema di ghiaccio nel salone sono stati bellissimi tocchi al soggiorno."

"Love this hotel. It's beautifully designed by 坂茂 and it lives up to his fame. The buildings look like they are floating over the rice fields. Both dinners and breakfast were excellent. Most ingredients are sourced locally and they are delicious. But what I love the most is the open baths. Both are small, but they're carefully designed with a tranquil, soothing view. I'd love to come back again just for the hotel."

"Located on the top of a business building linking to the Yamagata station. You won’t have to be worried even if it’s snowing or raining. A side note to travellers from the hotter climate, the hotel doesn’t supply air conditioning during winter. Instead it has a small webbed facility that allows outside air to flow into the room. This slight chills the room. However during the day, the room will be super hot. Initially we had a room facing the sun and when we checked in, the room is super hot. Called the customer service only to find out they didn’t have air conditioning during winter and we have to rent a fan from them. After a slight communication, the customer service is kind enough to upgrade us to a bigger room which is slightly cooler. Big props to the customer service lady! 5 stars service !"

"This hotel exceeded my expectations completely. The yamagata airport shuttle (from airport) has a drop-off point right in front of the hotel. The hotel is a 5minutes walk from yamagata station. There is a seven-konbini on 1F of the hotel building, and a toyota car rental directly across the street (1min walk). The hotel room was much bigger than hotel rooms in tokyo, with an amazingly luxurious toilet. Bottled water is provided everyday, as long as you remember to place the ”Make-up room” magnet outside your room door by 10am. The restaurant on 1F sells delicious yamagata beef sukiyaki, it is highly recommended though semi-expensive. The surrounding area of the hotel has a good mix of izakayas, konbinis (all 3 big brands incl lawsons & familymart), and fast food; you'll never go hungry. The reception desk is on 3F and the self-service amenities were of good quality (i.e., scented and thick oshibori, 2 different brands of facial cleansers & lotions, and drip coffee). The staff deserve praise for being so friendly, helpful, and accomodating; they allowed our request for cleaning to be done after 11.30am instead of the usual 10am, and gladly provided extra hangers and laundry bags. Speaking of laundry, there are coin operated laundry machines in this hotel, which have both washing and drying in a single machine; the machine is also password-protected per wash, which gives one a peace of mind. Stayed here for 9 nights as my base of operations for this holiday, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Daiwa Roynet Yamagata Ekimae. 10/10."

"Se visitate la stazione di Yamagata, questo hotel è un'ottima scelta grazie alla sua posizione eccellente. Si trova a soli tre minuti a piedi dall'uscita delle scale mobili, proprio di fronte all'hotel. La camera è sufficientemente spaziosa per ospitare due valigie e dispone di tutti i comfort essenziali. Tuttavia, i cuscini del letto sono un po' troppo bassi. La colazione non offre una vasta scelta, ma include i prodotti di base e garantisce un'alimentazione equilibrata. Per un breve soggiorno, è una buona opzione, considerando il prezzo!"

"新幹線停車駅で駅から徒歩圏内の立地はとても便利でした。 昨今ビジネスホテルは殆どの所へ狭いのが当たり前ですが、 こちらはゆったりとしたお部屋の広さで快適でした。 設備関係は古さがありますがお手入れが行き届いてる事と、 アメニティも用意されてるので気にならなければコスパ良いと思います。"
