I arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner.   I didn’t and still don’t  have an eSIM that can make local  call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free.  I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands.  I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.  I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their  blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop  to Suzhou which was my next destination.  This  operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a  lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.  After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge .  If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass.  Do check with the owner for up to date information.  The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.  Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. .  There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from  the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy.  It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances. The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.  This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.  I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in  Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I  couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket. 

Il centro commerciale si trova nella zona scenica, quindi è necessario acquistare un biglietto prima (è costato circa 200++ rmb entrare nella porta principale e accedere alla maggior parte delle attrazioni all'interno, come le antiche case del signor Shen e del signor Chang, ecc). Puoi noleggiare una barca. E '220 rmb per barca, quindi se vuoi più economico dovresti trovare altre persone per noleggiare insieme e condividere il costo. Le case antiche sono così belle e storiche, sono incluse nel biglietto acquistato per entrare nella zona scenica, ma se vuole accedere al secondo piano della casa del signor Shen, è necessario acquistare un biglietto separato per 30 mb. Il ponte chiave è affascinante e accanto a lui è un ristorante con delizioso cibo. It was one of my best stay experiences. I actually had trouble finding the location as the map didn't give me the proper entrance location but nearby one. (plus it was night and I am not good at locating; The gate is facing the stream so try to follow the stream and it wont be hard to find it in fact) Even it was late around midnight but the owner waited for me. The house is pretty cozy and always kept clean. The room is big enough for solo traveller like me, even with budget price. The water was hot enough and pressure was good too. And the heating and cooling system was all equipped pretty perfect. The room was always so greatly tended everyday I was deeply impressed. Possibly can be noisy if there are other guests, considering the way the room faces but in my case it was by myself while staying so no trouble at all. And it is not far from the famous lake, and you can find various kinds of diners, including foot massage shops and fruit sellers. There was some lotus cafe+diner nearby, and it is worth giving it a try. And a takeout shop for roasted goose as well. It was pretty good. (For Huaiyang cuisine, Damao was a good choice, though not that close from my stay. Think It must be a chain only located within Yangzhou. Food was worth the travel.) For sightseeing, the Canal museum is a must, along with the Lake and Dongguan district. But it requires a reservation in advance. Better check it first, to save useless trip like I had ; The host were so kind that when I asked where I can buy a new carrier when it was broken on the way, she was just willing to give me one she owned. I tried at least pay some but she refused kindly even with my persistency. Cannot thank her enough for saving all my annoyance. And she also tended with my laundry as well. Get to thank her again for her hospitality. Wish I could stay there again if I visit there again.

Il piccolo cortile di fronte al B&B è bellissimo, perfetto per scattare foto e fare il check-in. Servizio: Ho inviato la posizione del taxi e sono arrivato direttamente. Riepilogo: Questo B&B è stato fantastico. Ci tornerò la prossima volta che visiterò Zhouzhuang!

L'hotel è a Pishi Street, iconica strada di pietre cobblate che è per shopping e fotografare. Il personale dell'hotel ha chiamato il giorno prima di entrare, e ci ha trascinati in un gruppo di chat che ci dice il segno di prendere la macchina, cosa fare se guidare, e alcune raccomandazioni per il cibo se ci serve. Chiedono anche se abbiamo un ETA, in modo che possano sapere e essere pronti per noi. Quando siamo arrivati, il personale mi ha portato nella mia stanza, mi ha aiutato a portare il mio bagaglio fino al secondo piano della strada laterale, mi ha aiutato a mettere l'ariacone (inizialmente in modalità riscaldamento) e anche a mettere il wifi. Questo è un posto incantevole di fronte a un canale nella città vecchia. La stanza includeva alcuni tocchi tradizionali, come un tavolo da tè e posti a sedere tradizionali. È un buon posto dove trascorrere un paio di notti e conoscere la città vecchia. Tieni presente che se lasci la città vecchia, devi acquistare un biglietto per rientrare. Inoltre, i trasporti pubblici per la città sono un po' limitati. Sfortunatamente, questo posto è apparso in una ricerca di posti a Suzhou, quindi non ci siamo resi conto di dove si trovasse e abbiamo prenotato troppe notti. Tuttavia, per un paio di notti a ZhouZhuang, è incantevole!

Lovely guesthouse run by a friendly couples. Walking distance abt 15 mins to Suzhou museum. Cosy, and well kept place. Decor is tasteful and sauna adds a nice touch to the room, especially during colder months.
